vava
C'mon, let's not be too prematurely dismissive. Everyone's got a right to express their support in the way they see fit. So it doesn't match with our ideas - so what? I don't see anything wrong attending a rally in an automobile.

I'm only poking fun at the abrasive "VTEC bro" stereotype that some Armenians choose to unveil at any and every occasion-- even Genocide remembrance. If you could actually lead the way, and are able to enforce these ground rules, I would give you a bow. My concern is that they'll end up annoying every bystander they come by while waving Armenian flags in the process. My concern is that they'll end up annoying every bystander they come by while waving Armenian flags in the process. last year - it was annoying - year before it was even more annoying - horn honking and yelling loud Duduk music - it's a day of remembrance - if some of us chose to really - it should be don in nice civil - and not to annoy the people who are walking and demonstrationg - last yer organiser's of the demonstration had to remind every and each one of the car "rally" drivers not to hunk the horns - you know we the Armenian have the best of the best in car horns - BOsH... and even then many of them war making soo much noise. that the it was hard to listen to the speech made on the podium lid the way our cars are not fats -and do brake dawn often enforce these ground rules - skhara i can only Admin in HyeForum not LA
vava
I understand the concerns - for some reason it never dawned on me that an April 24 demonstration could degenerate into someting that would more resemble a parade for a sports team (which is essentially what some of you are describing). Let's hope that common sense prevails.
Azat
I actually disagree with this method of protest. It is VERY anoying and i know of two 'Americans' who even mentioned that to me too. I think it is NOT accomplishing the goal that you may have Edited March 29, 2006 by Azat

Let's hope that common sense prevails. http://www.hyerides.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99 first of all April 24 is on a monday this year so keep that in mind. We are planing a big car rally for the 24th. We start out at the Montebello Monument at Quiet Canon golf course. then head west to Beverly Hills, Turkish Consulate, we will rally there and cruz Wilshere for a little, then we will cruz to Hollywood for the "Little Armenia" Parade, by then most cars are going to get seperated in the mix up, so try to keep up if not your on your own. evantlay we will go on into Glendale area we did it last year and it was a good turn out. Flags and stickers: anyone intrested in "dressing" up your car in Armenina colors. saturday 22 and sunday 23 we will be working on that in Montebello. there is a list of cars and a line of 15-20 cars so let us know if you need the stickers. the whole car only fifty dollars, thanks to SignAgent. it doesn't resemble... it IS for many... FASTHYE
its not as bad of a thing as some of you make it sound, it happens every year, young Armenians drive around in the car I cant say much about the horn honking I know its going to happen espacilly those guys with thier Heavy duty horns,
DominO123
I highly advice you to meditate on what April 24 really represent and what you want to achieve by doing that. This mentality will give results but not a positive one..., if someone was to car rally for the Holocaust or other war crimes, I will seriously question their intelligence and they will only annoy me, and if I had the guts and the muscles, I will call them morons. What will it be next? Jet engines with supersonic booms to attrack attention?

Z'areh
Car rally.............Bad idea Car rallies are to celebrate winning of one's sport's team, or winning an election or similar sorts. But to "celebrate" a commemoration? what is wrong with these people??? It takes away the seriousness of the issue and turns it into an irritating show of stupidity, with undoubtedly giving way to rowdy and whistling teenagers behaving in a "soccer hooligan" type manner. They should drop that idea...NOW! Edited March 30, 2006 by Z'areh

Thats how we do it here in LA, what can I say, I dont mean to make it sound like a celebration or a parade, I ment to say little armenia march the point is we want people to know about the armenian genocide and almost every armenian do this, they get the biggest flag they could find and wrap it around thier cars and honk thier horns,
