Stupid idea!

Maybe I should have posted this in the Humor section, but then again not necessarily.

In the U.S. there is a rivalry among rappers based on geographic location (East Coast vs. West Coast). If we were to think of a criterium for a rivalry in the Armeniun music business what would it be based on? What would differentiate the two groups ( for example, US vs the World, Glendale vs. Hollywood, Eastern vs. Western, etc.) Let's think of some fun ones! We can also think of some serious ones if they apply.

Would Aram Asatryan be the equivalent of Puff Daddy (in terms of his major influence and negative publicity).

Like I said this is stupid. But we can also make it serious by thinking of some more realistic differences.

I don't think that Aram is a negative influence. That's what many people think he is, but I have never understood why people see more in music than plain music. IT'S JUST MUSIC!!!! NOTHING MORE!!!!

He's has no negative influence. Compared to other singers today (rabiz-popular), he may be the best. You can find more negative things in other singers' music, like turkish influence and other things related not only to the music. I don't think Aram is comparable to Puff Daddy, I don't think he has ever shot someone or cursed IN HIS SONGS.

It's my opinion though.

AHH HA HA HA! Aram "BIG MAN bad boy puffy" Astaryan! Oh, stop.

I can see the way you'd say it's not nesscesarily just a humerous issue. To most it is, but to some music really influences their lives so much (particularly rap) that it affects it to extreme points.

The way I see rabiz it is middle class kids TRYING to copy that lifestlye, "trying" is the operative word!

My twopennies worth for today....

I am not familiar at all with Aram Asatryan's music. Regardless I don't see how he can be a major negative influence. I was saying that he is often accused as such by some (regardless if the accusations are true or not) and there are often bad rumors about him (which are not necessarily true). That's what I implied in my analogy.

I do not listen to either Puff Daddy or to Aram Asatryan, but you cannot compare Puff Daddy to Aram Asatryan.

Aram Asatryan is only popular with us Armenians from Armenia. He is not even likes by Armenians from other regions. The people the he can influence can be counted on my one hand.

On the other hand Sean "Puffy" Combs or Puff Daddy as we know him is popular throughout the world. Weather we like his stuff or not, he is also very successful in what he does(Sing, Produce, Direct videos, etc) He even has a clothing like that did 50 million dollars worth of business last year. http://www.seanjohn.com/

The only comparison that you would find is that many of us will come up here and say that we do not listen to either one.

By the way, I see Aram Asatryan at Raffi's market on Saturday mornings.
