Takoush
I think everybody has his/her important point here and I would like to express my thoughts as well. I would be happy if u will correct me if I think wrong, please. Do we all do our responsbilities except judging others or finding the reasons in somewhere else? I wanna start talking from the bottom of the triangle. 3. PEOPLE People are the face of the government and the face of their countries. There are many compareable short stories about people and sheep. And nothing to be upset about that as it looks like it. We want it or not, but we follow shepherd. We are not aloud to be against something in the government, because if we will be so, nobody will listen us. As they understand that, and because people had a loooooots of difficulties, and it hearted most men in our country, so, automaticly people devided in to two parts - HOPLESS and HARD WORKERS. Hopless people, who are mentaly hearted, upset /men/ as they can't find a good job , hadn't a chance to leave the country for a work /money, refuse.../ or they can't do anything to support their families. So, what to do? To sit in the sofa and send their wifes or children to find a work wherever and whatever it's possible. We can't judge them as the hurted man is the wors thing... just we can name them "weak people" maybe? Different personalities.... Hardworking people try to escape from the hanger and they are ready for everything for their families, doesn't matter what... they just want to protect their families. They try to be stronger /but they are olsow hurted/, and they leave the country to find a job, to kill themselves for the chippest job and to send money to their families, to miss them crazy and to listen about treachery from other people. This is our picture. 2. ARMY poor army, there are lots of boys and men who couldn't pay for not going too far to protect their own country. There are only poore people children next to the border... our boys, they all have the strange scareing faces when somebody talks with them about going to army. They want to run away, to excape... why? pecouse, there is nothing provided for them in the army, that's why. Because nobody gives a ... about them in the army, no protection, no nice food, no personal respect, even no enough trainings... that's the way our country protecters are provided. I was just thinking........ mmmmmmm, do u think our country is safe? 1.GOVERNMENT This is the part which is managing the others... soooo, loook above... just a little part of our problems.... and missing ssoooo many things there.... so, what do u think? to who to blame? what to do? To blame our people? because they don't have jobs and even now some of them don't want to find it? to blame the rest of the people who left the country for supporting their families? to blame girls or boys who merry foreighn people because they don't see their future in their own country? to blame boys who are running from going to army, as they don't have any protection? or to blame the government as they can't stop thinking about the money? and because they devided the country in to some peaces and managing it on their own rools? nooooo waaaay.... we don't have any right to blame anybody. Even if we have it... anyway nobody is listening us and nobody will care of us, even if we'll change the whole government. What do u think who doesn't do their own responsibilites? So, who to blame people? what to do? who to ask to take care of us? any ideas? Do we have a healthy, safe country? style_images/master/snapback.png Hello Pantera: I feel very bad for yourself and for so many Armenian boys who escape from the army because they are scared and the government you say, is not taking good care of them. The most important factor is that you're saying that they don't train them well. That's bad. Our boys in arms should really be very well trained. That's very important for them and for Armenia's front. About the people you say; it's sad that a lot of them in there are pretty much starving. btw., not having any job opportunity, and not being able to support themselves and their families. It's a very sad picture you're depicting. You are basically saying that the government is not finding good solutions for better jobs and etc. etc. etc. If that's the case, then it's sad; because the people are the core of the country and without the people there will be no need for a government. I am not in your shoes and you say that I shouldn't judge the people who have left to go for greener pastures, and perhaps you're right. However, I can't but feel bad for the sake of Armenia and for Armenians when I see that there's less and less people in there. I know some very wealthy people like Kirk Kirkorian and others are investing in Armenia as well as sending a great deal of money to Armenia. I feel as though the government should find ethical and intelligent ways to find jobs for the people, so that they'll remain in Armenia and prosper; rather than leaving the country. I very much wish that things will get much better soon in our homeland.
Takoush
However on the positive side regarding AR's government; I think Robert Kocharian's heart and soul is for Armenia and for Armenians. Also on the positive side AR's gov't I feel that they do know how to deal intelligently with our enemy. I also know for fact that AR's gov't are very cooperative with the other 'Haygagan Gazmagerboutyounner' that are in Armenia, and that way they do work together quite cooperatively and constructively for the sake of one goal; which is our Hayasdan. These are only some of the positive factors that I can think of now, I am sure there are many others Anahid Takouhi

Dave
Pantera, I was comparing Armenia to Georgia and Azerbaijan, because those 2 are similar Caucasian countries that, unlike Armenia, have access to sea and in the case of Azerbaijan, oil. They, especially Georgia, don't have both eastern and western borders closed. Armenia is a landlocked country that is recovering from the collapse of the Soviet Union, the earthquake which killed 30 000 people and left many homeless, and the Karabagh war. If it wasn't for benevolent people like Kirk Kirkorian, Armenia today would have been in a much more disastrous state of affairs. I just wish people in the government I mean everyone, would not steal nor let anyone steal from money coming in to various individuals and I just hope things will get much better there so that people like Pantera will stay in their country, work and prosper. I fully understand the circumstances that have already been posted and are obvious that are not easy at all without much employment there. I hope things will start to pick up soon for you Pantera and everyone living in Armenia.

Look what kind of clever step the president did. He let America to step to their country. Wait and see what will happen after some years. It will be the next Turkey. Dear Dave, we had a lot of difficult situations in Armenia, but no one wants to think about people oooooorrrrr when there is a nice moment to make the situation better, suddenly our nation showes biger pride than they are. let's talk about the chirch. Why we are sapareted from the Catholic chirch? why? Are we very different? or are we very spessial? are we better than anybody? nooooooo, just we have a big pride. Look, if our chirch would be connected to Europe, we would be europian country loooong time ago and no Turkey, no Azerbaijan and no one would threat us about anything and the Turkey would recognize the Armenian Genocide long time ago. U know better how much power has Catholic church. We are following Russia all the time and we cry for help all the time, what would happen with us without Russia? But if our chirch would be connected to Vatican we could be more safe and etc. Eeeeeeeeeeehhh, Dave, everything is wrong... I know it's not easy to rule a country, but... we don't have anything fundamental for building a healthy country. Yeah, our country is becoming more beautiful, I agree, it will be, hope, turistic country soon, but WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE LIVING THERE? do they get anything from the turistic country? Please search and find my post with he subject topic "Arpa" why I chose that nickname. Here is that post I was referring to Jan 18 2002, 01:38 PM Post #1 Movses, you asked; Inch e nshanakum Arpa? On the surface Arpa is a river, no, two rivers. One, also lnown as Arevelyan Arpa originates at the highlands of Artsakh, flows south west through Armenia, enters Naxijevan and pours into the Arax. At the present there is a project ro combine it with Vorotan creating the Arpa-Vorotan canal/tunnel diverting it towards Lake Sevan. The other, better known as Akhourian in Armenian originates at Lake Arpi, flows southward along the Turkish Armenian border, also eventually joing Arax. This latter river is known as Arpa Chay (ArpaCay)by the Turks.Their contention is to make it Turkish based on the fact that "arpa" is in fact a Turkish word meaning barley (gari). This cannot be further from reality. "Arpa" is the batsarakan holov (ablative case) of arp, among the other holovs- arp, arpi, arpa, arpov. It is all derived from "arp" which originally meant "ether", the vacuum between the earth and the sun, stratosphere. In time the root word fell into disuse and the more common derivative "arpi" survived but this time to exclusively mean the sun. Why were these rivers named Arpa. i.e. "from the sun"? I personally witnessed a scene that made it clear as the (light)Sun. I was looking up a small creek next to Geghart. It was midmorning, as I looked up to see where it came from I was almost blinded, the sun was so huge and bright and as I looked up it seemed like the the stream was trickling right from the sun as if it was being squeezed out of it. No wonder the natives called it Arpa Get and held it to be sacred as in those days the sun was the source of all life, just as it is today, and it is sacred. There are many variations of "arp", the most common being Arpi, a popular feminine and name. There seem to be no masculine counterpart except maybe Arpiar ??. Even more popular is Arpine(h) which brings us to the question why many Armenian feminine nouns and names end in "e" or "eh", as in Nane, Hermine etc. Yes, the "e" is a feminizing suffix, although not officially defined, it is not unique to Armenian. Many languages, including European as well as Oriental (Semitic) use the "e/ "a" ending to feminize. There may be numerous examples but suffice it to consider names like Robert and Roberta, Francisco and Francesca, Eugene and Eugenia (Evkineh) just as in the Arabic "amir" means prince and "amira"- princess. Ibn means "son" and "ibna"... well, I'll let others to comment on that. Of course, this all happened when the rest of m party were aaah-ing and oooh-ng at the wonders of Geghart/spear, I, the "pagan-cynical-agnostic" that I am was out admiring nature. What? You did not know that "geghart" means spear? The "spear" that eventually became a pain in our v*r*k..... side. Based on that idiotic legend that the "spear" that pierced Jesus' side on the cross was brought to Armenia and it became our exclusive property? Arpa
Arpa, forgive me for the misspelling of your divine name. I have corrected it immediately. By the way, I knew from your posts that you are definitely a male not a female. You are very informative about your explanations of your name, meaning the sun as well as about geghart meaning spear. I never knew. Thanks for informing me. Why "chastvatsouhi" and not atvatsouhi( you wrote it with a capital Cha), are you afraid that Aramazt may strike you with a bolt of lightning, or Vahakn may run you over with his chariot? In no other language one finds an equivalent of "chastvats", like "un-god"? The most common distinction is either to capiltalize or not, like God v god or Astuats v astuats. Armenians are such lying cowards! *Hour her=hair of fire. I'm sure you know that we use "her" to mean hair as in aleher/white haired.
