MosJan
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE HONORS POLAND 20.04.2005 08:06 /PanARMENIAN.Net/ The acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide honors Poland, Archimandrite of Krakow Monastery Tadeush Isahakian-Zalezski told PanARMENIAN.Net correspondent. The Polish Sejm has acknowledged the Armenian Genocide in spite of the claims of the Turkish Embassy in Poland and the letter of Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland Jan Truschchinski written last year and urging not to convey a public response to the establishment of a khachkar (cross-stone) in Krakow, as well as the scandalous behavior of some Polish politicians. In the words of Tadeush Isahakian-Zalezski, the day of acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide by the Polish Sejm is a great day for Armenians of Poland, as well as all those, who reserve themselves the right to come to know the real truth. <!> Reproduction in full or in part is prohibited without reference to "PanARMENIAN.Net"

gamavor
Good news! Now only if they could recognize their ethnic cleansing of Prussians. style_images/master/snapback.png The only good news is that by ‘officializing’ the attitude towards Armenian Genocide through verbal or written declarations of recognition the respective Governments are saying that they now know what happened. I don't dismiss fully the campaigning efforts of the Armenian communities worldwide, but please be mature enough to realize that the main reason why they are "flowing" recently is because, that is in line with the stand of EU towards Turkey. Just few weeks ago, the Polish President Kvashnevski said that Nagorno - Karabagh is indispensable part of Azveristan. As if somebody asked him for his opinion!!! Here is the result: Genocide vote in the Seim (0:0) Poland's position on Karabagh: (1:0) for Azveristan

I read it on PanArmenian. I'll have to look for that article.
MosJan
LECH WALESA: “IF WE FORGET ARMENIAN GENOCIDE VICTIMS, GOD WILL TURN AWAY FROM US” 21.04.2005 04:49 /PanARMENIAN.Net/ “If we consign victims of the Armenian Genocide to oblivion, the God will turn away from us,” former President of Poland Lech Walesa stated at an international conference on the 90-th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in Yerevan today. In his words, within the past 17 centuries Armenia was independent for only 300 years and in early 20-th century it tried to throw off the Ottoman yoke, however the Young Turk Government decided the Armenian issue via deportation and massacre of the Armenian people. It was the first genocide of the 20-th century, L. Walesa stated, adding the West limited itself to urging the Turkish authorities and did not try to prevent the Armenian Genocide. “Today’s Turkish authorities aggressively refuse to acknowledge the crime committed by their ancestors, while Europe has denounced that crime twice (in 1987 and 2000) and qualified it a Genocide,” the former Polish President noted. To solve the current world integration problems at present Mr. Walesa pointed out the need to use the most efficient tool of the globalization – the dialogue between nations, cultures and civilizations. MosJan
TURKEY DENOUNCES POLAND’S RECOGNITION OF SO-CALLED ARMENIAN GENOCIDE The Polish Parliament yesterday passed a resolution recognizing the so-called Armenian genocide. In an official statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry denounced the development and expressed the Turkish nation’s deep dissatisfaction over Poland’s mistaken attitude, which it warned would incite hatred between the two nations. “The Turkish people are extremely dissatisfied and concerned about the Polish Parliament’s passing a bill to recognize the so-called Armenian genocide, as Poland should have instead encouraged peaceful efforts to discuss the issue on a historical platform,” the statement said. “We denounce and reject this resolution.” The Foreign Ministry also warned Poland that this development might hurt good relations between the two countries. In related news, Armenian President Robert Kocharian accused Turkey of being “aggressive” in its statements and called on the European Union to pressure Ankara for official recognition of the so-called genocide. /Cumhuriyet/
MosJan
POLISH SPEAKER: TURKISH DOCUMENTS PROVE THERE WAS GENOCIDE OF ARMENIANS 22.04.2005 08:47 /PanARMENIAN.Net/ The Polish Sejm acknowledging the Armenian Genocide does not imply anything anti-Turkish, Polish Parliament Speaker Vladimir Timoshevich stated. In his words, it becomes harder and harder for Turkey to put off with the historical reality. When commenting on the fact of the Turkish authorities having sent a letter to the Polish Parliament, censuring the acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide, Timoshevich noted, «Turkish authorities do not wish to account for their own discrimination against the Armenians.» «As of the question whether there was a genocide or not and whether Turkey is guilty – there is no doubt and Turkish documents confirm it,» Timoshevich underscored. «I understand it is psychologically hard for Turks, moreover that the events took place 90 years ago,» Timoshevich noted. However, in his words, such a response by Turkey is «incorrect and I do not accept such criticism.» Simultaneously he noted that it is not in interests of both Turkey and Poland not to drive the matter to discord over the historical issue. «There is no sense in it,» the Speaker noted. «The Turkish Foreign Ministry has done what it considered necessary on its part, however I hope that in a few days the problem will not be available any more,» he accentuated. MosJan
Armenian Genocide: Polish MFA Went Back on Word 15.04.2006 00:23 GMT+04:00 Print version Send to mail In Russian In Armenian /PanARMENIAN.Net/ “The Armenian Genocide Resolution adopted by the Polish Seym doesn’t mean recognition of the Genocide committed against Armenians. The resolution should be viewed as an expression of opinion,” Polish Foreign Minister Stefan Meller stated in Ankara. In his words, the “Armenian Genocide Resolution reflects the atmosphere on the Armenian issue in Poland.” “Historically Poland enjoyed good relations with Armenians. There were many officials and art workers of Armenian origin in the country. However these relations should not tell on Poland’s foreign policy,” Stefan Meller said, reported Turkish Daily News.
