Iran01
Yes, I live in Armenia although I have been out for two years now for my studies. If we count Iranian Armenians (citizens of Iran that is) the number will make a couple of thousands. I will take a rough guess, arround 7-8 thousand or maybe more. I am not sure. Farsi Iranians would make a thousand or two with lot of them going back and forth between Iran and Armenia. Only the Iranian students studying in the Medical and Engineering Universities make a hundered or so. There is a Iranian bank operating in Yerevan, tourist companies, transportation etc. 7-8 years back there were some incidents when Iranians were beated or their property stolen. But they were of purely criminal nature. I guess the reasons were that Iranians where just learing how to operate in Armenia, what are the local customs and metality, whome to deal with and whome not to deal with etc. Overall, after intensification of trade Armenians and Iranians adjusted to each other pretty fast. After those incidents I haven't heard of any negativities up to now. You may know that there is an Iranian mosque operating in Armenia. Taking into account our experience with Islam you might say that this is a sign of extraordinary tolerance style_images/master/snapback.png Thank you Armen blow up that mosque, we have good enough of them in Iran .. I guess it is some kin of gesture from both side. Iran has labled several Armenian churches in West Azarbaijan as cultural heritage... and has spent a lot of money on them.... Armen
shake the body instead beating themselves to death style_images/master/snapback.png Iran, they appear to be much more evolved in terms of sexual fantasies than myself for example. Iran01
Iran, are you anti-Islam? style_images/master/snapback.png Yes I am, at least since 10 years ago. But I UNDERSTOOD the islamic ILLNESS first 3-4 years ago when starting reading Quran, Islamic history ... and observing muslims around the world. I am very hopeful to see Islam be detroyed ( I mean destroyed from the root) in Iran. And I guess it will be the start of Islam's end in the world. You can not believe it There was a Ayatollah in an Armenian church in Tehran talking about Jesus!!! According to him when Emam Zaman ( Imam of Time which is the last (No 12) Shia Emam) comes back! Same time Jesus will come back too! And Emam Zaman will ask Jesus to lead the prayer! BUT Jesus will say: No my dear , after you ! Plz Ps, Shiaim is the most strange "religion" on the earth! Jesus had 12 students and so have Shia 12 Emam. Christianity have holy Maria! So shia had made daughter of Muhammad the same! Jesus got crucified so they believe the same of Muhammads grand son! Jesus will come back so will the last Emam. But thats all! jesus talked about love! Shiaism follow Quran: KILLING !

They need to attach a pick on the edge just like in the Passion of Christ. Now that would be suffering. Iran, I'm curious, what would like to see as the future of Iran? I mean in terms of government and what kind of virtues should the children be taught. Should any religion be part of Iran's future in you opinion? I wish to have a neighbor like that style_images/master/snapback.png Edward jan We are living in a very danger time and region. 1400 years of Islamic culture has infected Iranian minds, Today we have bigger wolfs such as England, USA, 25 years of Islamic republic has destroyed Iran, .... Nobody is our friend ( EU USA England, Russia)! And we have the enemy inside ( Islam). Our only friend are ourselves and countries around. sadly enought, in south Arabs have always seen Iranians as enemy, The rest are muslims country. All of them have a long way to go to get ride of Islam ( Turkey, Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan ...). Nothing can help us , only pure nationalism can. After all you dont mind to have a Persian king ruling Armenia: King Xerxes says: A great god is Ahuramazda, who created this earth, who created yonder sky, who created man, who created happiness for man, who made Xerxes king, one king of many, one lord of many. or King Darius says: An Armenian named Dâdarši , my servant, I sent into Armenia, and I said unto him: 'Go, smite that host which is in revolt and does not acknowledge me.' King Darius says: The rebels assembled for the second time, and they advanced against Dâdarši to give him battle. King Darius says: The rebels assembled for the third time and advanced against Dâdarši to give him battle. Then Dâdarši waited for me in Armenia, until I came into Armenia. skhara
I would like to see an extrem ultra Iranian nationalist movement in Iran. I believe : Good thought, speech, deed are good virtues. Hmm.. look into National Socialism? We are living in a very danger time and region. True. Today we have bigger wolfs such as England, USA, Well you have a small but a very dangerous wolf to the west that will be doing its best to sic the bigger wolves against you. Nobody is our friend ( EU USA England, Russia)! Well since EU, England, and USA are certainly not Russia's friend, Russia can be encouraged to co-operate. You should make them some offers they can't refuse . Nothing can help us , only pure nationalism can. If Iran develops the bomb, the little terrorist state to the west will become very very nervous and Iran will have major sway in the region and be able to dictate policy. Armenia needs to have her own bomb, to keep the Turks at bay and to discourage the thought that Armenia is part of the Persian empire . MiG-35
I see that this topic is becoming much more interesting than what I expected earlier. Hi Iran01, What you said is very interesting. But can you please kindly comment the following? Your criticism of Islam is pretty understandable, but Islam plays a special role in Iran… a role that cannot be replaced by Iranian nationalism. The role I mentioned is that it is a good glue to connect various parts of Iran into one state. In other words, if Iranian nationalism becomes a dominant ideology, there is high risk that the Turkish or Kurdish population of Iran (in Azerbaijan and in Kurdistan) will have a good motivation to stress their own Turkish/Azeri or Kurdish nationalsm… So you then will have to face much more separatism??? Being an Armenian I'd like to see Iran as large as possible... Edited April 20, 2005 by MiG-
MiG-35
Medya Do I understand you correctly that you find that the state Kurdistan must include all the lands currently populated by Kurds, including not only the lands always populated by Kurds since 2000 years ago (such as Kirkuk), but also the lands that always were Armenian (such as Kars) and that have lost their Armenian population only a dew decades ago? Bakersfieldian
No, you've got it mixed up. His movies are crud. Kurt Russell is rumored to be a Kurd. style_images/master/snapback.png
Iran01
Dear MiG-35 I understand what you are saying, But PanTurkism rest on Islam while Shiaism try to rest on Iranism! And the point is pure Iranian nationalism reject Islam totaly. A wave of anti-Islamic movement from Iran would shake Turkey on rischter 10. And it Would isolate Arab world in the world, help Russia in thier inter-nations disturbances ...... Islam is a kind of mental disease! it is nothing you can cure by a year or two. It is nothing you can cure by having contact and exchange cultural values with outsider... Curing a muslim form Islam is a long process which takes several generations. Iran is leading on this process right now. You can not see it on surface, but it is a unrecallable ongoing process .... and Turkey is long way behind. I see a leading anti-Islamic movement from Iran as an advantage than disadvantage. Do not worry about Iranian Azarbaijan. 60 years ago when pan Turks were rulling Iranian Azarbaijan for a year by the help of Russians, they did not dare to talk about separation. Today Iran is much stronger than 60 years ago. What goes for Kurds, I am sure they are pro-Iranians if Iran is Iranian. After all, Islam is like an identity for many. As a Persian proverb goes: the house is damaged from ground and "men of knowledge" are talking to rapair the balcony. Shiaism can not hold Iran entire on long run. By other words you must destroy the house and rebuild it before it is to late.
MiG-35
Dear Iran01, Thank you for comments. You mentioned things that I have never considered before. In particular: 1. Yes, Iran based on pure Iranian ideology is a more understandable unit (for the world) than Iran based on Islam. Unlike Turks, Iran has rich and long history that can be presented to the world as an “ideological vector”… 2. Also, an “Iranian” Iran is a better partner/friend for Europe, for Russia (and perhaps for Americas) than a “Muslim” Iran. --- I am glad to hear that about Kurds in Iran. To be honest, I too have never hared about serious Kurdish movements against Iran (in spite of the fact that Kurds are active against Turkey and Arabs of Iraq…). As to Iranian Azerbaijan… Let’s hope they will never talk of separatism. My own fears are based on what I read about Iran in Azeri forums (which are in Russian and in Turkish languages – I can pass you the links)…
Tommmmmmy
I've got nothing against Kurds. In fact, my father grew up in an area of Syria that was inhabited by a number of Kurdish people. He has fond memories of them.
