Erdogan PARIS (AP) -- La Turquie «n'a pas de problème au sujet du génocide arménien», a déclaré jeudi le Premier ministre turc Reccep Tayyip Erdogan, sans reconnaître publiquement le génocide de 1915. Lors d'une conférence de presse au siège de l'OCDE, le chef du gouvernement turc a invité les historiens arméniens à venir étudier les archives ottomanes qui «sont ouvertes». «Laissons les scientifiques, les historiens étudier cette question», a lancé M. Erdogan. «Une fois que cette question sera débattue de façon objectiven on verra ce qu'il en retourne», a poursuivi le Premier ministre turc. La non-reconnaissance par la Turquie du génocide de 1915 constitue l'un des obstacles à l'éventuelle adhésion d'Ankara à l'Union européenne. AP Erdogan said that ''Turkey doesn't have any problems with the Armenian genocide''. (What does that mean?) He invites Armenian historians to study the ottoman archives. ''Let us let the historians to study this issue''. ''When this is debated, we will see what results it will give''. Where is the report prepared by Said colleagues regarding the poisoning of children? Where are the reports regarding the special organisation? Stormig Posted October 26, 2004 Report Share Posted October 26, 2004 If they didn't have problems, then why do they cite it specifically in the new "Europeanised" penal code? Such a laugh. They should add it alongside penalising the mere questioning of the the 1938 annexation of Antakya or government involvement in the 6-7 September 1955 incidents.
