Also, I had to do it on our old computer (which is in my room and has become my personal computer) but it's pretty slow. My brother doesn't want it on the new one. I have tried it in the past and, unfortunately, it does not solve 1) i.e. "breaking down a post into several statements." It inserts the entire message as a single quote and I need to break it down manually. It becomes a bit hard to manage because the editing pad is tiny and my messages are often long ! I prefer to work with a text editor with a large window and other convenient features! Maybe I should learn to be less talkative and keep my mouth shut, keeping my replies shorter! Good night! With the exception that, instead of specifying the member name as an ATTRIBUTE of the quote-tag i.e. {quote=MemberName}, I specify it as a prefix to the quoted statement. Of course, one may wonder why I chose a - in fact, only SLIGHTLY - different syntax - despite the fact that I appreciate the relevance and importance of already existing standards? Before I reply to the question above, I sincerely apologize if this conversation SEEMS to become a bit too...what's the word? Let's consider a situation with a sequence of quotes i.e. Member1 states : "Statement 1" Member2 replies: "Statement 2" Member3 replies: "Statement 3" In some cases, my reply to Statement3 may seem ambiguous if I don't include the context i.e. Statement1, Statement2 and Statement3. Using the forum's convention, we would have: Statement1 Statement2 Statement3 Reply1 Using my convention: Member1> Statement1 Member2> Statement2 Member3> Statemen3 Reply1 or Me> Reply1 [Yes, in ANY forum and with BOTH conventions, specifying the poster's alias as part of the reply is redundant and may be considered superfluous noise!] Personally, I find the second approach GRAPHICALLY more "intuitive" and "legible" as the number of quotes grow! What do you think? I can live with both, my goal is to make it MORE CONVENIENT and LEGIBLE to the READERS. One should also take into consideration the fact that sometimes Member3 can be the same as Member1 and Member2, the poster! Thanks. Siamanto. PS. A compromise may be to combine both approaches! Also one nice feature that I should be using is the link to the quote. I will integrate that in my future messages.
