Guys, i can't believe at your ages men can act like clowns. Ok,,,, Step by step. 1. What do you know about Talibans? And what do you know about Armenian culture? My attitudes are based on Armenian culture, not Talibans' one, because I don't even know them. I was raised like this. I've known talibans by their name. Moreover, I disagree with their attitudes! They are muslim extrimists... you should think before you talk. Example for you if you still don't get: if an armenian lives in Afghanistan and excepts the Aghani (i.e. Muslim) culture and mentality he will be as disgraceful as you are, because it is not ours, so to support theirs while turning their back for our ways is disgraceful for a person who calls himself an Armenian. 2. Look at you before calling me a taliban wannabe. You have nothing Armenian in you as 99% of so called Armenians on this forum. At least keep your mouth shut when we an Armenian person talks about his culture otherwise you are disgrace of your nation. Thoth, what the hell do you know about Armenia? You mother is an Armenian as far as I am aware of... you've lived all your life in the US and raised by american man... So, what is it then? Proud Armenian who disagrees with Armenian culture but still calls himself an Armenian? Man, at least try to respect ... i know what is mentality and it difficult to thing to be changed ... but at least respect you mother's forefathers' lifestyle otherwise you act like a turk! 3. To that person who wonders what happened to Armenian girls: HOW do you expect in american society so called armenian girls to be moral? Ask yourself: how do you raise you girls? They are total reflection of american mentality ... and what do you expect then? of course she will be a slut, and she will use the F* word and she will sleep aroung like a latest prostitute. Raise your daughthers properly, so in future there wouldn't be a case when a person comes to the forum and asks: "what happened to our girls... " My answer: nothing happened to Armenian girls. 3. Hagarag ... hell with them ... prostitute is a prostitue ... they don't have a nationality ... disgrace upon thei fathers ... who's daughters go to UAE to earn money!!! I can tell to these sluts to go an spit to the faces of their brothers as they are disgrace. God knows, there weren't that many prostitutes 20 years ago ... in Armenia you could count them on fingures ... now it is changing. GOD forbids, but If I could only have a right... I would execute all of them to clean my nation of such disgrace! That's my word! Also ... why on earth did you jump on me and started this issue? What did you thoth start this endless discussion again? What did I say? I told person that Armenian girls don't use the word F ... is that disgrace if a girl clean? What's the matter with you? You are both lost ... hell knows where ... but your reaction is weird! 4. I am not here to waste my time ... so my dear yankees, I will leave you with this topic as I am flying to Moscow in 4 hours... what I am asking is only to respect, respect what your forefathers have for God's sake died for ... to keep our culture our christian values and our pride! God bless you all! [ May 30, 2002, 01:54 AM: Message edited by: ARTURian ]

You know the armenian traditional wedding is a science. Huge and full of many details and things. I will explain how my brother's wedding was last year, it will be very brief. Uremn. Oh. before they go to the house of girl, the groom goes with gifts to the house of qavor. The table is already prepared there, sit down kenac-menac etc. From man's side to the house of hars qavor-qavorkin, men and young girls go. When they recieve news that young groom is coming, the relatives of the bride are going out of her house to meet them. In their hands they should have round gyata's so they can pass it to the relatives of the groom. The groom himself brings the wedding dress of the bride, and gifts for her and her relatives. Before the house the relatives are dancing, zourna, tash tush etc. very nice Then they enter the house of the bride. The bride should sit in her room and nobody can see her except her woman relatives (!). Qavorkin takes the wedding dress of the bride and with other women goes to dress the bride. When they start dressing the bride they sing a song and obviously everyone is crying. The words of the song are something like that: Hars em gnum, tanic heranum, Hars em gnum, tanic heranum, Tasnyot tarekan, nani jan, Siro tiranum. Indz berel es, sirel, gurgurel, Indz berel es, sirel, gurgurel, ... Anush katd... Orhnanqd togh lini, nani jan, Misht el indz vra. something like this. Don't remember the exact... Then the groom goes to the room of the bride (or she comes out of her room). The face of the bride should be covered and only the groom can unveil it. They sit, kenac-menac drink then they go to the church. When they are about to go to the church, the brother of the bride with an armenian dagger waits near the door and does not allow the pair to exit the house of the bride. The brother releases them when he gets payed. When they go to the church, they should take a beautiful bag of gifts and the bottle of church wine. This wine is the bride and the groom will drink in the church during the Psak. In the path that goes to the church they throw white pinks under the legs of the bride. Right before they enter the church they should hold two pigeons and before the enterance they release them. In the church they place the rings on their fingers and also the bishop places crown on their heads. Crowns as far as i am aware of is the symbol freewilling and longlasting marriage. Also they drink wine which means that they are going to take all the sorrows and happiness of the life together forever. After they all go to the house of the groom. Near the house, the relatives are waiting, and of course the main person - mother-in law. She puts on the shoulders of new married lavashs, kisses them and blesses them. All the dancing take place, ansamble is playing music, kids throw sweets to the new married couple (preferable light-weighted sweets . Next to the bride there is always harsnaquyr, petq e chamusnacats lini. Next to the groom not marriad guy, hach-ehpayr i think. His is allowed to choose one of the girls in the public and kiss her, the girl should not let him kiss her, whereas hach-ehpayr should try his best. Ok, they met the couple, and they are entering the house. Before the bride enters the house she should brake the overturned plates before the enterence of the door, this means that she breaks all the bad and evil, and enters the house clean and with peace. They enter the house. Everyone sits around the table, except the bride (this is very important!). She stays standing. Then mother-in-law comes to her, gives her very expensive jewelry (probably family jewerly) and gives permissions to sit down. Then again tash-tush starts. Before there were these small handkerchieves in which they used to put all the sweets from the wedding table and they gave to the young boys and girls who are not married. Now you can buy those. According to traditions if boys and girls put these handkerchieves under they pillow on that same night in their dream they will see their future half. After the first night, in the morning, Mother-in-law sends the woman delagation with karmir handzor (red apples, some now do it with red flowers) to the house of the bride. The mother-in-law herself does not go to the house. This means that the girl is clean (virgin). These red apples are given to the father of girl. And obviously father as usual cries that day. In couple of days the glux-lval ceremony takes place, when relative married girls come with gifts to their house to see the bride. There is not much dancing takes place here, usually quite. more like a family thing. And i think this is it. Oh yes, almost forgot, when the bride enter the house of the groom they give a little boy to hold in her hands, so she will have healthy kids as well. This is just a brief explanation. The traditions may differ a little bit from region to region. This kind of wedding took place one and half years ago in Yerevan, when my brother got married. Now thet have a little fedayin boy in their house. Guys it's so nice and beatiful, our weddings are the best!! Wish you all the best and obviously the pure and long lasting love! P.S. Sorry guys, couldn't resist. Just one post. BTW congratulate me, I already have a girl whom I will marry in about 3 years. [ May 15, 2002, 07:39 PM: Message edited by: ARTURian ]

I decided to answer anyways. My answers will be very short, i don't have much time. So here it goes. About me assimilating, blushit. The case i was answering was about disgrace, and the biggest disrespect from man towards his wife and children, it is out of question that he is the lowest material on earth and should be dealt with. Women, girls should be educated. Higher education, of course. I seek educated woman, obviosuly. If my family is doing not good, I will allow her to work, if not then there is no reason for that. The opinion of my wife will the most important, we will be discussing many things... You are repeating yourself... If she is not happy, i will explain why it is important as it is all will be for the sake of kids, but I won't be marrying some western girl, so I believe she will understand that Relations between man and woman is about caring and love, children about that as well. But the structure and order should be in everything. I am skipping things about sex. The last passage makes no sence. I said if it is unnecesarry, then woman shouldn't work. If there is a need, then it is ok. But if no, then it is better for her to be with kids. I don't see baby sitting/neighbors etc. etc. a good thing, i would never allow my kids to be raised by strangers! If her husband says no, then it is his decision. I would like my sister doing something which has got nothing to do with money. When she will have her kids her job will be raising her kids. She would have a husband, and she will respect his husband's word. Sip, with that example you sound as a kid, lol. Be serious... Thoth, i do not care about woman of other world etc. But looking at both of you, I want to ask... What is your problem ??? :: )))) Do you envy me or I touched your feeling explaining ways Armenian families operate. Did you know that outside of Armenia in former USSR countries 90% of women in Armenian families do not work. Dudes, you are not even girls to protect yourself. Funny hah? What is it then? Your women, treat you really bad or something? :::::::: )))))))))))))))) Anyways, I have to concentrate on my dissertation. And thoth, do you have anything during the day to do except typing one kilometer posts?
-
Guys, you having such a nice dialog between each other about me, so i will probably get on with my dissertation and leave you alone. :: ))

Thoth, man, you target my posts as a bull the read color without even knowing that it would not hurt. Man, it is either you are have some issues or my explanations are very bad. You totally misunderstood me. I do NOT praise crime, i am against it. What i said is that thieves did a lot of good staff for the society in general... it is obvious. Example I gave you about bregade of workers. Thieves are for right, if you are right and you can defend you being right, then they will bring the justice, simple as that. Without them there will be uncontrolable bunch of criminals who will walk around killing, raping, lying etc. etc. in this case they act as piece makers, and in general they played very important role in the society where crime was beyond the skies. This is the point. Hagarag, go take a shower, get a girl and relax, you are too intense. [ March 15, 2002, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: ARTURian ]

I am oficially quiting this forum. There are no people left in this forum for me to argue with. Hate towards me, bad words etc. are just the sign of envy and impossibility of arguing!!! Everyone dislikes me here, so I decide to quit once for all. Thoth, if you douts you can mail me, and we can continue our discussion of the subject, and I will prove you my point. At this time i am sitting with a british newspaper. Reading the news from your country: Woman, killed her 4 under 5 year old kids in the bathroom by drouning them, got a life imprisonment. That's how sick your society is. And you know that, but you enviness and the sorrow of living there with makes YOU at the age of 40 something to come to this forum and spend hours defending it. Enough of this! I am outta here once for all. I will concentrate with my dissertation and upcoming exams. Here is my e-mail: artur_arm@hotmail.com . For all other members, wish you all the happiness and peace to all your houses. No matter if you agreed with me or disagreed i wish you all the best. Artur

Btac, LA has no Armenian organised crimes, except few numbers of beach boys who are wannabies. In the former Soviet Union, there are still "Vori v Zakone", like Mafia Dons but with many diferences. Basically "Vori" (thieves translated from russian) are respected people and all of these are connected to each other. Who becomes a "Vor", Vor has to be coronated to become one. After the decision of corronation between old members of "Vori" they agree or disagree for that person to be a "vor". Who can become one? A person who is recognised in criminal world. Before you become Vor, you have to be "avtoritet" or like a very respected in criminal world person. He should know "ponyatia" or understanding of criminal life and world in general. What do Thieves do? I regard them being good for society in general. Without them there would be a lot of uncontrolable criminals in the former USSR. So they are in some way piece makers. They mainly solve problems between let say gangs or businessmen etc. etc. who have some isues which they want to be solved by a third party. On the other hand they also help normal people. In what way? For example, your breagde works for a businessman who promised to pay your bregade 1000 bucks for the job. After that, he let say does not want to pay and basically kick you out. The thing you can do is to visit those "thives". What will they do? They will find that businessman, they will get the double of that money and will pay what you should have earned. Businessman knowing that it is not a joke to joke with a "thiev" will have to pay the double amount for him being wrong. So it all comes to one being wrong and another being right. About 50% of the thieves come from Caucasus and about 20% from Armenia itself. Nowadays, however there are kids who buy the title thieve for money. But most of them without knowing the real understanding of the criminal world, do end up in cofins. Presently there are also smaller Armenian gangs in Moscow, st. Petersburg and other cities in Russia. In Moscow as far as i know, these gangs devided, and make up small groupd from 50 to 100. Some of these groups have a name of the region of Armenia they come. The three groups i am aware of are: Leninakan Group, Yervan Group and Artsax group. I am sure there are more than that but i am just not aware of others. Basically these guys are invloved in blackmailing, car roberies and other activities. They do also respect the word of "thieves" and obviously in some situations do reply to the needs and wants of the thieves in general. Litle bit about situation in Moscow. After the collapse of the USSR and until now, the Caucasian criminal groups are still the most powerfull in Russia. There are Chechens, who came to Moscow with a warning that they will not comply to the rules and laws of the "thieves", there are Armenians who are mainly connected to "thieves", georgians, Azeris, Daghestanies and other groups. Armenians for some period of time were very powerful, in the begining of 90s. Then thousands of mountainers from Chechnya just went to Moscow to do earn, and in few years they became one of the most powerful. On the other hand Armenians were still powerful. The Azeris, who invited Chechens to Moscow were betrayed by them, and thus lost their positions. Thus the positions of criminals from Caucasus were on the top. Russians couldn't take that Caucasians rule Moscow started getting united. After few atempts, the position of Chechens and other Caucasian groups lowered. Today, some top class Armenian criminals do get money for protection (receteering) from many companies, businesses, businessmen etc. etc. As far as I am aware of Vnukovo Moscow Airport is controlled by an Armenian as well. There are big number of hotels, shops etc. etc. who also pay to Armenian gangs and other groups. This is the slitest situation of criminal world in Moscow and the USSR in general. Artur P.S. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. [ March 15, 2002, 08:33 AM: Message edited by: ARTURian ]
