When pigs learn to fly... Diasporans are cows that need to be milked for the fatherland. That's it, that's all.
-
I only have one step for you, blow me! It's not taught in schools and has no official status in Armenia and that's all that matters. What the Church does or what foreigners do in their countries is not our problem.
-
It is. Thank God for that!
-
It sounds stupid too you because you don't see Turks or Arabs and their cultures or lack thereof as foreign and alien. They are your kin, so why should their linguistic influences bother you?
-
He's using the defunct archaic orthography.
-
Right, but rabizoid slang is used by the rabiz alone. The former is used practically by all akhpars. That is those that actually prefer speaking Armenian and not Arabic. Hayde lan peroujan...kaken khntaliq par eh... What's the etymology of peroujan btw?
-
Everything is wrong. Nothing is wrong with borrowing from Persian, Greek, Latin or Russian for that matter. Turkish is an alien Altaic language. The others are closely related IE languages. One is evolution, the former is degeneration. Nevermind the cultural and historical aspects...Shame. Same goes for the filthy animalistic Arabic.
-
Well they're not really separate, Antelias is officialy subordinate to Echmiadzin but they are autonomous essentially.
-
Congratulations to Russkis for this very wise and important decision.

I'll respond to the axpariks in a bit... Greek is the closest language to Armenian, no other language comes even close. We're talking about the core of the language and the heart of it not the layers and layers of foreign loanwords. If you take out all the Persian loanwords you end up with a language that is very similar to Greek. Search for Graeco-Armenian or Greco-Armenian. There are three layers of Iranian loanwords in Armenian. The most anicent one is Median and Old Persian (few words), followed by Pahlavi/Middle Persian (nearly half of all Armenian words), and Modern Persian (few words). There are also loanwords from ancient Anatolian languages and later Hurrian (khndzor for example, hindzuri in Urartian). For example there are more Middle Persian loanwords in Armenian than French/Latin in English! That is over 60%. Which is why until 1877 linguists thought that Armenian was an Iranian language.
-
That's true. Towelheads from the shithole that's called the middle east and iran are buying property all over and not just in Yerevan. It's a myth that it's only students...

The differences never bothers us. I can "speak" WA fluently and nobody would ever guess that i'm not a native speaker. WA speakers can't speak EA without actually learning it for a while. It's the same language but ask yourself why do EA speakers have no trouible with WA but WA speakers often act as if EA is like a different language? It's them that usually make a big fuss about insignificant differences. The only thing that somewhat bothers me is hearing "parev" instead of "barev" or "gedron" instead of "kentron" etc. Nevermind the senistivities of others, to me it just sounds like someone is making fun of my language but again it's not a big deal. When WA is spoken graget-ly the differences are even less. No gor gors and all that .

WA will most likely no longer exist in any reasonable form in a generation or two anyway. It's gradually fading away. So few people speak it properly... Any WA speaker that moves to Armenia picks up EA in a month or so.

Only Armenian Apostolic Church?
Eurocentric replied to RemainFaithful's topic in † Armenian Apostolic Church
Silly question. The Apostolic Church is the NATIONAL Church. The others aren't! -
Yeap. We were too weak as a result of fighting eachother. Back then there was no such thing as ethnic identity, your identity was defined by your Church. So lets say if an Armenian was Chalcedonian he was loyal to Byzantium, if he was non-Chalcedonian he was loyal to whichever feudal Armenian state he was from.

It's simple, one big Anatolia wide rehab. Those that are uncurable can always be deported to Central Asia, maybe they'll chnage their minds when they see where their linguistic origins are... The Mongoloid influence is little in Turkey because the Oghuz, by the time they got to Armenia and Byzantium were already very heavily mixed with Persians and had a Turanid (Eurasian) look. In addition, their numbers weren't that large. I read figures of 25, 000 to 50, 000.

Turkey ‘warned’ Canada And U.s. Against Using Term ‘genocide’ April 24
Eurocentric replied to MosJan's topic in Genocide
What??? The Liberals have always been opposed to the Genocide resolutions, it would have never passed without the Conservatives. The most vehement opposition always came from the Liberals. Hell one of the most anti-Armenian people in the WORLD is Bill Graham and one of the most pro-Armenian is Stockwell Day. The Bloc always supported us too. -
http://www.o2tv.ru/news/date/2007/04/16/id1563/ Sad and hilarious. His accent couldn't get more stereotypical and his demeanour is that of a bandit yet this is the richest and most powerful guy in the country...

Greeks Going To Return Previous Status To St. Sophia Church In Istanbu
Eurocentric replied to MosJan's topic in Religion
Hagia Sophia is an important symbol of our civilization in general, not just for the ughapar. I don't think we will ever see it as it was meant to be seen unless it's conquered! -
I don't like the jewish analogy at all. We are not god damn jews. A healthy diaspora is the Greek diaspora. There are significant numbers of Greeks all around the world but all of them have ties to their country in one way or another. They are Greeks living outside of Greece for better or worse, not citizens of another country who just happen to be Greeks or Greeks who live in some alternate Greek world independent of the Greek homeland.

As it SHOULD be. I don't agree with the lack of activity, we're not inactive. Au contraire we are active with ALL of them as opposed to being active in one clan like group alone. I often frequent events organized by every single one of them. I would NEVER join any of them though since they are divisive. Yes they serve a purpose to keep the Diapsorans Armenian, and yes we don't need that to stay Armenian unlike Diasporans. There should be no other reason for the diaspora to exist! The diaspora should exist merely for the benefit of the Republic and Artsakh. Very optimistic but far from reality.

Creators and the destoryers. Comparing the early dashnaks to the modern ones is beyond moronic anyhow. How many prominent dashnaks left the party those days eh? Only a barbarian will call sophism bullshit. I'm not the one praising Yeprem Khan btw... It didn't take much to push your buttons. I know your kind all too well. ****** տռի թե չտռի մեկա ոռատույա մնում: EDIT: language

Easy there tough guy. Can't take the heat get the *** out. When you have a functioning republic, all efforts need to be concentrated towards it and nothing else. A nation of beggars and vagabonds needs political parties outside of their homeland.

Rapid changes=catastrophe and disaster. We are on a good track towards a gradual stabilization. It hasn't been that long.
