Yes it was a very good match! Anyone watch the Italy-USA match? It was a lame match and those Italians sure don't know the meaning of good sportsmanship. I hope Mexico gets sent packing soon, lol, that will be like the sweetest tasting candy. GO BRAZIL kick some Aussie butt today! -
Wow, hate is a such strong word... And being a Latina myself, I feel obliged to ask why your mother would be reminded of Satan by the Latin guy? I think that's really way too much. Did your ex have a tail or horns and hoofs? I've dated outside my race and I'm lucky cause my folks are very open minded and although they have the funniest broken English they've met my boyfriend who is a reserved mid-west white boy. I suppose that its all about the culture, enviroment and family you where raised in. I hope that you are not simply looking for an Armenian man to please your family. I don't speak for myself when I say that sometimes dating outside your race you learn to appreciate your culture a lot more and learn and appreciate others as well. ...I'm sorry that you get weird looks from men when speaking your language. But you shouldn't let that bother you cause its unique and it makes you who you are. When I speak Spanish, men find it real sexy, so maybe the guys you've dated just didn't appreciate your language but trust me, there are many men out there who find a woman who speaks a language other than English a real turn on!

I have taken notice that for some Armenians, other assimilated Armenians aren't "true" Armenians. And for almost all Armenians relationships with those who are not Armenian is a no no... So my question is, how do you prevent from assimilating? Take a country like Argentina for example, it's a Spanish speaking country and I kind of doubt that there are as many Armenians as there are here in the US. There can only be so many young Armenians of marrying age and not everyone might get paired off, so how are they expected to fight back romantic feelings that may arise for the young Argentine latinos they inevitably interract with everyday? LOL Here in LA, land of the "melting pot" culture, among Armenians its still very important to remain "100%" Armenian and marry Armenian. There was this real hot Armenian guy in my humanities class who flat out said he dates whomever he pleases and was dating an Asian girl at the time, much to the displeasure/ shock(?) of the other young Armenians in the class (this is LACC which is located right in the heart of Little Armenia). Hmmm, I don't know if I made any sense but this is really quite interesting to me and I would like to know about what others may have to share on that matter.

Woaw, hang on a second, I was only making an observation and I meant nothing bad by stating the fact that there are many anti-muslim feelings prevalent on this website... I did not intend to single out Armenians, but Christians in general. But now that you've mentioned it. I know that what happened to your people is not some small thing where one can just say "forgive and forget", however, are you going to live life using that as an excuse and calling people who believe everyone has a right to practice their religion "Moslem or Jew lovers"? I agree the laws should be applied to everyone BUT what I cannot agree with is someone complaining that they cannot put up a Christmas tree and wanting others to adapt to their religious beliefs simply because they are living in a country "founded on Christianity", which is what the original poster indicates. For the record, I do agree that an ID picture should not allow anyone to cover their face, I mean that kind of completely deifes the purpose of an ID. However, and I stand by this belief no matter what, people can practice whatever religion they chose and nobody, not the government, not the people of a so called democratic nation.

...Okay, I don't know where you are from, but, here in America the land of the free, peoples rights to practice their religion and live a certain way are protected, wether anyone else likes it or not. AUSTRALIA ARE YOU LISTENING? I do agree with you that whatever one choses to believe is all inside and its a personal choice. I do not feel the same sentiment as you do about having no respect for people who demand freedom to practice their religion and beliefs. In the Christian and Muslim religion, there are some sick bastards who have taken that religion and used it to their advantage. Again, here in the US the majority of those who scream for war and the destruction of Islam are all sick, Christian zionists... so yes I agree that religion can become the tool of the devil. But I'm certainly not going to bitch about not being able to put up Christmas lights and complaining about others religious beliefs because they wont adapt to mine!. That is bullcrap because that is wanting to show off ones religous beliefs as being superior to others.... and by the way, I have noticed that there are some posts on this site which really degrade the Islam religion... very nice coming from supposed "Christians", so un-Christlike.

Right, I'm going to pass this piece of non-sense to everyone I know... I do agree to a certain point, that immigrants EVERYWHERE must make an effort to adapt to the laws and language of the country they are living in, but I cannot agree with a country that will deny anyone of the right to practice their religion and live a certain way as dictated by their religion. After the 9/11 attacks here in the US, "patriotism" took on a new meaning and our flag, our country's values and what it stands for where taken over by A BUNCH OF NUT JOB, CHRISTIAN FUNDAMENTALISTS who gave all of it a bad meaning... It's pretty sad because know if anyone even dare question the actions of the government, you are considered anti-American and accused of treason. Your point of views are those of a hysterical person. Paranoid. That's the problem ignorance causes paranoia and paranoia leads to the hatred of those who are not like us. It's the same here in the US for the most part. The nation is kept on their damn toes with all these unfounded "terrorist threats" that are just waiting to happen. Which makes me wonder, if there is reason to believe there will be another terrorist attack, what the hell is the point of Homeland Security? God, I hope it's not just to keep us all paranoid and afraid of our Muslim neighbors and willing to give up our precious rights and privacy... As much as I hate the things the people in power have done to my country, God Bless America because the rights of those people who come here seeking for a better life have not been hindered. God bless Australia too, your Prime Minister is nothing more than one of Bush's lap dogs...

I'm so glad I live in the US! Sure it's hard for children of minority to get caught up and lose their culture, but parents can try and raise them with a sense of culture identity. But I couldn't agree with you more on the fact that if you insist your child not to follow a culture, then there is a big chance they will. I'm a Latin girl who dates outside her race, loves learning about other cultures, embraces ALL people, and practices Buddhism, much to my parents chagrin. And hey, I'm interacting in an Armenian site! LOL My point is you can try hard for your kids not to assimilate but the US is the land of "the melting pot" and kids are introduced to cultures from all over the world, weather parents like it or not. Even if you manage for your child to grow up 100% of this culture or that, they are little people with their own minds and they may as well chose not to follow their culture rule by rule when they get older. Don't get me wrong I think it is important for everyone to know and take pride on their culture, but I also believe that you can learn from other cultures as well. Every culture has something good to offer! Tigranes, I'm sure you and your wife raise your baby to know and love both his cultures! I am all for interracial/ interculture marraiges. I think it's a beautiful thing and I myself (when I am ready), will look for a husband outside my race and raise my children knowing about their Latin culture as well as the father's culture but never making one more dominant than the other. By the way, Italian-Americans, as much as I love them, can be downright cocky... and wacky! LOL

I'm going to give you the point of view of an odar... I honestly believe that if the two people involved love each other, do not disrespect or try to undermine the culture/beliefs/values of the other person, and if they are willing to overcome the obstacles that come with dating someone of a different race or ethnicity, love can conquer all. This may perhaps sound really naive, but it is my opinion and I believe in it 100% and you are asking for what others think. I was in a serious relationship with an American white man but it did not last because he did not respect my values and every so often he would berate my Latino heritage and make awful remarks about Latin people. That relationship was obviously not one I was even going to try and make work because if there is no respect for the very thing that makes you different, there is no love. I have never dated within my own race simply because I have never found an attraction for Latino men. Don't get me wrong, there are GOOD men and BAD in EVERY culture, so I'm not saying anything bad about Latin men. Interesting enough, I have interacted with Armenian guys who have a whole lote more in common with me and what I believe in as a person than Latin or American men.

Wow. This story has officially ruined my day... What is this world coming to? There is hatred everywhere! I have no tolerance for people who have no respect for other nations flags and symbols and who do not respect other people. Bastards, that's all they are for such a hateful act and for beating up an innocent man trying to make a living.

Oh my goodness, honey, I hope your wife does not stumble upon this site, cause you'll be in deep trouble with her... Anyway, I don't know too much about Armenian history or the term "white genocide", but to me people are people. I don't think it's cool that you're saying that Armenians "shit" on Americans. Come to Los Angeles and you will se that the huge Armenian population here has done nothing but contribute to the city... I would also be more careful with my choice of words if I where you. You can get your point accross but there is no need for offensive language or the need to degrade others.

Would Love To Visit Someday!

....what does it mean? -
I'm a bit confused, but I think I understand what you're saying... I think the same can be said about the Latin culture, there are some who tend to stick close to their roots and all that, but then the majority of us are quite liberal and embrace other cultures as well. I think that while embracing other cultures and being able to date whom you chose is a great thing. Then again, it's up to the individual, but I personally would not mind dating an Armenian, or black, white, etc., in fact, I've only dated outside my race. It's not like it's a concious act but I find that sometimes men from different cultures are not only more interesting, but they share my same ideals. Thank you for your enlightment on the issue!

As far as Armenians (men or women) dating or marrying non-Armenians, I think that if there is really something special there, why not? However, be prepared for the consequences that come with dating someone from a different culture. I know because I am Latin and I dated a white man and our families and beliefs simply clashed. The relationship did not last long as this person did not support or respect the values instilled by my parents. It's a bit ironic because I have met several Armenian men who I'm actually far more compatible with because they are also raised to be family, values, and morals oriented. However, I have not pursued anything of a romantic nature with any of them. I know that Armenians are strict about the interethnic dating issue, according to some of my Armenian pals who attend mixers where they are encouraged to interact with other young Armenians in hopes of forming a romantic relationship. But I do believe that if the two parties involved think it's worth it and if there's love, it can work out. Just be prepared for a few obstacles here and there.

No, it's not. I'm sorry to keep bursting your bubble, but, I've seen better usage of the Spanish language from 8th grade students studying the language. -

I agree with Kakachik, there are people who would much rather visit small "undiscovered" countries in the world. I find Armenia fascinating, what are you having trouble understanding Tigris? Is the concept that not EVERYONE would rather visit Greece too difficult for you to grasp? I don't think your personal life is anyone's business but if you're significant other is Armenian, I'm sure he or she would not take it kindly that you are trying to compare Greece and Armenia meanwhile making Armenia sound like a pot hole unworthy of visiting... As far as someone here using the word odar, please refrain from using it. I find it highly offensive. Other than that, wow! I did not know Armenians watch Spanish (albeit translated) soap operas. That's so neat! So when I do get the chance to travel there, I won't be the first Latin they've seen! lol Either way, I'm sure that Im not mistaken when I say that tourists can expect nothing less than world class hospitality from Armenia. -

Tig, you say you're Latin yourself, yet, I could not undertsand your Spanish. Perhaps it's not perfect, but if that's the case, you should not try to write it. Anyway, that being said, I did not say I want to go back, I've NEVER been there, so I cannot "go back". I think you're trying to compare Greece to Armenia and ask me where I would REALLY like to go honestly... Well, I think I was clear enough when I mentioned I'd love to visit Armenia someday! No question about it. Greece is an extremely fascinating country which I'd also love to visit in my lifetime, but there is no need to compare the two completely different nations. I should pray my life will be long enough to visit both nations and many others. -
Armenia is a country that has held a fascination for me for as long as I can remember. I grew up in Hollywood where there is a huge Armenian population and I just admire their tight-knit community, their culture, and their food! LOL Since checking out this site and seeing pictures and reading about Armenia, I've just made up my mind that I simply must visit Armenia someday! That would be something to talk about! I wonder if any people of Latino descent have ever visited Armenia??? That might be something quite new to Armenia. LOL
