Teutonic, have you read about the Armenoid crap on that racist forum called Stormfrong.org? That's the lowest of the low forum out there and I am sure the authorities are watching out for the people who post crap there. I would not trust or validate anything I read on that forum, and I feel extremely sad that some insecure Armenians are part of that forum. By the way, the word "slav" came from the word "slave" since most of the slavic tribes were Roman slaves. While Armenians were generals and statemen in the Roman empire those low-lives who look down on us were fricking SLAVES.

If you ask Croats they would deny that they're Serbs and claim that Serbs want to kill them all and convert to Orthodox Christianity. Serbs are horrified of converting to Catholicism and hate Muslims (Bosniaks, Turks) just like Armenians do, although they do admit that Armenians got the worst from Turks. Bosniaks are converted Serbs, Slavic people, they see Turks/Turkey as their refuge/protectors just like Serbs (as well as Armenians) regard (ed) Russia as their protector. Croats rely on Rome. Basically, the Balkans happens to be the division line between these religions, although personally I never regarded Orthodox Christianity and Catholicism to be much different from each other as a faith except the artifical political divide which I believe the clergy these days try to resolve and unite the churches.

I think most of the Balkan people resemble moth physically and culturally to Armenians but I think that mostly that has to do with the fact that we were once ALL Ottoman subject hence we were shaped by one culture for a period of about 500 years.

I sort of understood that these men have met before and just happened to meet again in Ani, he is saying fate brought us together (AGAIN?). He is DEFINITELY saying we are leaving with sadness but with fire in our heart. This means we saw Ani in ruins and it got us sad but we have fire in our hearts now because we know what kind of rich culture/city/churches we built back in the days. We understand better who we are as Armenians. The man definately seems educated, knows history, has sensitivity for the Armenian cause, basically not an accidental tourist from a nearby village. I think the earlier interpretation that he was from Karin, a place near Kars is more accurate, since Garni is in Eastern Armenia where people speak Eastern Armenian, and this man definately uses Western Armenian.

I've talked to a Christian Indian man who went to an Armenian school in Calcutta since it's one of the few Christian school there. He confirmed that Armenians primarily came (or I should say flourished) and went with Brits, well definately they were given Brit or European status.

Well, one of my favorite topics...can the weaker sex make the first move, be more proactive, ask the guy out....or do we still live in the middle ages where courting or chasing a female is the norm. Do you men lose interest instantly in a female when she asks you out because you think well if she asked me out that means she definately wants to sleep with me hence she is conquered goods hence no interest or desire for me to be with her. Both genders give me very different answers about this topic partly depending on the age group, partly on culture...so I am curious to raise this issue here

I agree with Domino...no matter what there is going to be something different and no matter what that child is going to grow up and look for his/her real dad or real mom or at least try to understand who they are, I am even assuming here that one of the partners is the egg/sperm donor of this child.

I agree, I remember from 5th or 6th grade Armenian class in Armenia where my teacher explained that "k" is the plural form in older Armenian, so "ner" is a newer version that sprung up not sure from where and by putting "K" at the end makes something plural. "hayk" simply is the land of many armenians. And I do agree with this entire thread subject, we should be called "Hayk" not "Hayastan".
