Siamanto Posted September 30, 2004 Report Share Posted September 30, 2004 Georgian government abolishes Armenian history lessons at schools - agency Noyan Tapan news agency, Yerevan 28 Sep 04 Akhalkalaki, 28 September: Under a decision of the Georgian Education [and Science] Ministry, optional lessons have been removed from the curriculum beginning this academic year. As A-Info news agency reports, this has caused anxiety in the Javakhk schools [in Georgia's Armenian-populated Samtskhe-Javakheti Region]. The problem is that Armenian history lessons are not included in the curriculum, and Armenian history is taught there as optional lessons. ED Posted September 30, 2004 Report Share Posted September 30, 2004 yet another sign of a Georgian stupidity, since Americans sat foot in Georgia and in the hype of a rose revolution I'm not surprised at all by this move, knowing Georgian cocky attitude to be overwhelmed by such events only in a long run they again with all there natural resources will find there country in chaos, a smart politicians would have done just the opposite by securing first and foremost her southern borders. Freight transport of Armenia has become problematic since Novorosiysk ferryboat is now under construction. So it is advised to choose another way by Ilyichevsk ferry. However, it’s not the settlement to the problem, either, as too many cars are accumulated on Georgia-Russia frontier. Recently about 20 cars were let out to Armenia. But the Georgian side affirms that there is a problem to let the cars out.
