I use Armo all the time and think it suits us quite well. I somehow don't feel it has the same weight as the n-word or k-word. Maybe because I don't live in LA. Don't know..

yes Nairi your right, back in Armenia we used the word negr all the time but never with offencive intantions, i understand kakachik also or who ever is using the word, but here in US especialy in LA area Mexicans are/were spraying grifity on glendale buldings "Armos go home" and you surtanly can understand where I'm coming from, besides it does not sound right at all, i wondered how do you find it sutable

You think "Armo" is as offensive to Armenians as "nigger" to African-Americans? I don't think it's the same. But I can see how it could be offensive.

 

However, I must say that I'm (sadly) used to the shortening of names and ending them with "o" as we can see in the names of our pop culture representatives: Hayko, Aramo, Sirusho, etc (too tired to remember more and I know there are lots more)
