gurgen
It is sad Anoushik. It seems like we want the best of two worlds and end up not having any of them completely: driven by materisalism we come here yet long for a non-materialistic motherland and are not satisfied by the life we have here. If we were in the motherland then we would long for an easy materialistic life and feel unhappy there too. This is a crazy world. I don't think materialism is that big a factor. I think watching your sons die in the army is of influence as well. Or waiting till 5 for water so you can wash your hands. That's a basic need, it's not materialism yet. Well, everything has to start somwhere and unless people make sacrfices Armenia will not go anymore. I am not saying that I am this holy Armenian that is making sacrifices, but you have to admit that in order for a nation to progress a few generations have to face some tough times. gurgen
That would probably work if people noticed some progress and everyone was going through 'tough times'. Instead people named 'Grzo' buy your whole neighbourhood.

One person throws a bottle on a policeman and gets a jail sentence. While another person makes silly comments to the president and gets to be beaten up to death (let's even assume he was not meant to be killed), then the one who has beaten the guy is not in jail. Or another person shoots in a public place and does not get a jail sentence. Plus numerous examples like Grzo and others. Actually Grzo is relatively better than others. For example some others can freely block a certain important avenue in the middle of the Yerevan for their selfish needs to organize a car race. The rest of the "unimportant" folks have to wait in humiliation till the race is finished, while the corrupt police won't do anything... there are so many other examples that make one pissed off and want to leave the place as soon as possible even if you were rich. Yeah, I admit that there is corruption in Armenia, but what happens if everyone just leaves?

Sasun
What's so unfair about this? The punishments are unfair, if this person spends time in jail then a murderer should spend much longer time in jail rather than set virtually free. gurgen
Yeah, I admit that there is corruption in Armenia, but what happens if everyone just leaves? And what happens if they stay? What can they possibly change? For every good person in Yerevan there are 10 assholes.
Azat
Or maybe the other way around, but that one asshole is such an asshole that they make 9 others seem like assholes. BTW, I actually think the ratio of good to asshole in the Diaspora is much greater.
