Hi!

I have to do research for an Institute, who organizes worldwide touring exhibitions, about exhibition venues in Armenia.

Does anybody know which Armenian Galleries and Museums in Armenia already have International Standard? (climate control, lights etc.)

Which one can be recommended for Contemporary Arts Exhibitions?

Thank you for your help!

Hi:

The standards at the State Gallery of Armenia (at least this is how it was called before) were not too bad. Lighting and humidity control standards were enforced in the old days. Don’t know what is the current status.

The standards and the Modern Art Museum were nothing to brag about. Other museums were even in worse condition.

Armenian has not had a Contemporary Art Museum, before, and contemporary art as such, has not existed. However, such a museum is soon to be opened due the finding provided by Qafesjian’s (spelling?) and based on his private collection (not such an impressive collection from what I have heard from some experts).

Don't listen to michael jackson, he has no idea what he's talking about.

Go to http://www.accea.org/

Since 1992 there were monthly exhibitions with great conditions in NPAK next to Vernisaj with tons of wonderful artists. That's where all the rock/heavy metal concerts used to be held too until 99 when "rock clubs" started popping out everywhere in Yerevan.

Sometimes people really surprise me no this forum :shocking:

Armenia must be one of the countries with most painters and artists in the world!! if comparying to the number of people that lives there with any other country.

Everyone should know that,,,and stop putting armenia, armenians down.

I have a dream...

Before the members of this forum respond and speak out, they first read and comprehend. And in general, given the proportion of the number of ears to the number of their mouths in real life, they listen and speak in proportion.

But this is just a dream…

I know many contemporary Armenian Artists personally one actually is my best friend Gegham Khacherian

http://www.gegam.artspan.com/

I love his work and there are many more…

Armat, a "contemporary Armenian artist" just means someone who is producing work at the same time as we are alive. :) It doesn't mean he/she is producing "Contemporary Art" - but God knows what that is anyway!

My idea of the best of Contemporary Art is a burning London warehouse full of the stuff. Give the arsonist a medal for services to humanity! :D
