THOTH
Any Christian who professes to know that their religion is true and the others are false must know these other religions thoughouly to make such a claim. If they then know these religions - but reject them - then they are just haters - they hate God ( as embodied by all the other religions besides Christianity) and they hate and disrespect the believers of all these other religions. In fact they are so harteful and delusional that I think they should all be locked up - someplace where they can do the rest of us normal people no harm. apologies to Gevo for stealing all his ideas. One day I will start a topic: 'All Italian people are gangsters and delusional. They should be locked away. Threaten me with liquidation.' We can forgive Thoth's nonsense for today. After all, it is April the first - when all fools become king for a day! So let Thoth think he's clever for 24 hours. We can criticise him aplenty tomorrow (when all the sacrificial fool-kings are disposed of). Steve

One day I will start a topic: 'All Italian people are gangsters and delusional. They should be locked away. Threaten me with liquidation.' Did I say all? And you can thank Gevo for the incites (intentional mispell) here... So if atheism is a religion (which it isnt - just as non-belief in Santa Clause is not a religion - but just for arguments sake) then you are disrespecting someone elses religion - and claiming yours to be the one and only valid one etc etc - with that being the case - why should anyone who does not believe as you do - respect you or yoru beliefs? And why would anyone take you seriously in any way shape oir form?
bellthecat
It's now April 2nd (here anyway) - so Thoth can be toppled from his foolish throne. Unless a religion considers itself to be the only valid one then it is failing both its adherants and its non-adherants. It would be an abhorrant religion that would willingly see the followers of another religion be condemned to the fires of Hell simply because it is "political correct" to "respect" another religion. Religion is a serious matter, not a silly game. That most churches/mosques/temples, etc. are brim-full of social misfits and idiots is not a reason to condemn religion. And attacking believers will never be a way for the world to move on from religion and evolve into something better. I am an atheist, but I have no wish to be associated with thuggish "atheists" like Thoth.
Sip
I am an atheist, but I have no wish to be associated with thuggish "atheists" like Thoth. Do you consider yourself a God hater (as gevo calls it)? ... and if not, then whether you want it or not you are in the same boat as Thoth. bellthecat
No, of course I don't consider myself to be a "God-hater". I can't hate that which does not exist. Nor do I "hate" religion. A lot of beautiful things have come from religion, especially. Most religious types thesedays are contemptable, but mostly not because of their beliefs - it's their hypocracy and smug stupidity and lack of a true understanding of what they say they believe that offends me the most. Sincerity in any form is not something that should be condemmed. Lack of sincerity is the trouble with the world - and Thoth is the most insincere person I have met. Hey, ironically, I've been in more churches than most Christians, and probably know more about Christianity than most Christians!

And why would anyone take you seriously in any way shape oir form? The non-belief in santa-clauss is not a religion, because the belief in him is not. Atheism is just a belief that concerns God... it is the belief of the non-existance of God. Buddhism does not believe in a God in the proper sense of the term, but it still is a religion. Here again it is a subject that people could agree or not... On the other hand, I do believe that agnosticism is not a religion, because the person in question does not have a particular belief on the existance or non-existance. The person doubt. You are imagining things (from my perspective) - the attacks have all been one way. Here he has posted about 5 times - each one with some type of personal insult or put down of me. Yet - last night - when I make a post concerning stupid claims that Gevo is making concerning Atheists my entire set of posts and even a complete thread is immediatly removed without explanation. In each case I have responded yet (when I have - as ussually I have not) I have been singled out for "punishment". In this latter case - and most all of the time I have not responded in any way to these silly posts of Steve's - oh but when I do - its me who is given a hard time. Even here - where I have said nothing - not one thing in response - again I am mentioned - and some implied threat is made. I believe that I am owed an apology - if not several. It consistes only of personal attacks against me - including a very direct implied threat (the English usage is so muddled that I admit that perhaps he was trying to make an apology at the end there - don't know). But what is clear is the double standard being practiced here. And I'm also curious as to this recent offer by Mosjan of a sort of High Noon justice where Bell the cat and I have x # of hours to go at it unrestrained etc etc....and let me add that I protest this - who says I am giving up my rights to not be insulted? And where in the forum guidlines is this sort of arrangement allowed?
THOTH
OK Domino - you win - I am not an Atheist - I am a multi-anti-theist - by your definition...shall we count (perhaps some of) my religions/non-beliefs? (and let me add that it is not surprising to me that you think along these lines as its a very dirtect outgrowth of the multi-universe theory...I see that now...) 1) non - belieif in Zeus and the gods of Olympus 2) non - belieif in Odin and the gods of Valhalla 3) non - belieif in Mithraism 4) non - belieif in Allah 5) non - belieif in Buddah (godhood of and/or worship of etc) 6) non - belieif in yahwe, elohim, Jehovah and all the rest 7) non - belieif in Christ 8) non - belieif in the Great Spirit 9) non - belieif in Vishnu (incl all claimed encarnations) 10) non - belieif in Osirus 11) non - belieif in RA (OK perhaps THOTH I believe in..LOL) 12) non - belieif in Anu 13) non - belieif in Dagda 14) non - belieif in Quetzalcaotl 15) non - belieif in Tlaloc 16) non - belieif in Cthulhu 17) non - belieif in Arioch (blood and souls for my lord A...etc) 18) non - belieif in the Valar 19) non - belieif in Enlil (but Enki is cool...) 20) non - belieif in Mithra 21) non - belieif in Marduk 22) non - belieif in the nameless one... ....and I can go on and on - you get the idea - but I have so many religious beliefs you know... Oh and I should add I don't believe in Heaven, Hell, Elysium, Nirvana, Olympus, Valhalla, the Abyss, Gehenna, or any of the other various supposed Hells (besides Camden), and heaven like places (excepting that which resides between...well lets not go there for fear of censorship shall we....) Proud EXPAT
Yeah, I suggested some time ago that Armenians should become Moslems. It would be way much better, politically, financially, morally, etc.. The only thing that has maintained Armenian unity in the past has been our religion. Times have changed and now we have various sects of Christianity, but if we had caved into Turkish pressure we would have never even had our own state right now. Look at what happened to the Kurds. And wouldn't it be nice to also mention that Moslems who hate Christians should also be locked away, as well as other religions that preach or have followers that support hatred of other religions other than their own. gamavor
Well it was a joke, however when it comes to Armenian Issues I have only one maxim. Good is what is good for Armenia. Think about it. If we become Moslem the border with Turkey and Azerbaidjan would be opened, Chechen terrorists supported by US would not fight in Karabagh against us. Georgia is already half Moslem, so that presupposes good relations with them too. Caucasus in general is predominantly Moslem. Turkey, Albania, Bosnia are moslem countries with high chances of getting EU membership and plus enjoying the support of US, so our European candidacy wouldn't be compromised. Many Armenians are racially profiled in US taken wrongly as Arabs or Middle Easterners and terrorists. This time it will be official. Armenia may become member of OPEC as an advisor and thus a member of a powerful international organization Islamic solidarity or whatever. Since we will be the most educated Moslems, many of the US funds going to Turkey, Azerbaidjan, at al might be governed by Armenians. The survivors of the Genocide would be granted Turkish citizenship as Moslems and will not have problem to be entitled of restitution of their ownership over their possessions - at least to certain extend. The Genocide issue would be automatically resolved and statements such as the one uttered by the British ambassador in Yerevan would be treated with contempt and as an attempt to spoil the brotherly relations between Turks and Armenians. Americans will gain more respect in the region because finally reconciliation between turks and armenians will be achieved. Russians also will be happy because they need not worry anymore about their south. It will be gone with the wind and with the rate of marriages between Russian women and Moslems, soon we might provide them with methodology about how to become Moslem quickly and efficiently. Finally American-Armenians wouldn't be embarrassed anymore for their circumcision. They will feel at home. ED
Gemavor, as usual I find this and most of your most posts to be most "enlightening" and entertaining. as for being circumcised and at home in US, could you expend any further on this please? gamavor
http://armenians.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7468 I forgot something very Important. Just look at the map and see if Armenia becomes Moslem, what will happen in near future. From Austria to China, one culture, one language, one rule - Allah Akbar! Isn't it facsinating? Let others die, we shed enough blood.
