Stormig
All this thing with her moving out or not moving out and/or focusing on the relationship with the mother - what makes you think that relationship is going to get better as long as the status quo is maintained - or at all? Karine, like the others I am going to say I am not the best advice to rush up to, but I'll talk/write all the same - it shouldn't be that difficult - you need to do some math. You already have a part-time job. Look around five to ten places. Have back-up plans for the moving out, for what might turn out to be a changing of jobs or losing your current one, having one flat mate move out and his/her place being vacant for a while, that sort of stuff. In the beginning it might be risky and will hopefully work out, but as time goes by, and I don't say that this is for just moving out but for any goal, you will be surprised at the way you will squeeze pennies out of just about everything and still be beyond basic living and comfortably so (in the case of moving out). Five years ago I was age 19 and, even though I was better well-behaved than other kids about money, I now consider myself to have been clueless back then. You are in America and by the sound of it have citizenship. Why not? It'll be healthier. Consider yourself lucky and grab that opportunity, all the while remembering how fortunate you are in comparison with young folks in places not as economically privileged - like in Armenia. Not enough jobs unless you are a whiz, girl-boy co-habit frowned upon (even by the land-owner who should make sure his wall-paint is not damaged and just shut up), etc. And, I'm sorry to say this, but I don't think it could get much worse than this - I very much agree with Azat about your mother.
