Saul is a renowned Spoken Word poet, very deep, with metaphysical, cosmic, socio-religious works. Blackilicious is a 'conscious' hip hop group focused more on spreading a good message with rhyming skill, over glorifying cars, money, girls, etc.

I'm in Hollywood. I was passing by the Blvd, and I saw on the marquis on the Henry Fonda the names Blackalicious and Saul Williams, for Feb 27 or 28, I forget.

Since I know them I was curious if anyone knows about this.

Know of them? Or know them? Do you plan to attend? I'm a bigger Saul fan than Blackalicious, but would be a great overall show i'm sure.

"Armo dude", you don't need the jermak before...but that's another thread all together.

These things are opening up man, you're probably going to see a bunch of artsy hollywood white cats up there anyway. Don't worry about it. If I can attend Navasartian and Sevan games in one calander year, you can spend a couple hours amongst the sevs.

ohh i never thought of that lol and i was really planning on going...never mind--itll be weird-a couple of armo chicks at primarily african american event---aye itll be uncomfortable- theyll be like "who be these ricecake whities" anyway..ill just go check some stuff out online about them.

and not to mention if other armos find out-itll be the talk of the town-- "aman did you guys see, those armo chicks went to that backaliscious thing--ohh they musta been there 2 pick up guys" so yah- i dont want that kinda "publicity" lol

"Jeez" the drama.....

What you said is such a ridiculous way to have to live, but I know that it's true. Silly. I mean you never know, these things are very broad nowadays and many 'white' people are into Spoken Word and more 'underground' hiphop groups like Blackalicious. I mean c'mon people, if someone doesn't start proving these 'ideas' as foolish it's not going to happen. Maybe that's just me, but I welcome the looks and questions, because I set people straight. Don't be so quick to limit yourself....look at me. ;)

I have many friends who 'live' by this creed, who's whole Lives are affected by being Armenian and what other armos will think and say about what they do. It's great that you all have that closeness but sometimes it's a major deterrant and obstacle.

Enjoy what you like, if you want to see the show I think you all should go see it. If you don't want to pick up guys, don't pick them off, fight off the suitors, because brothers will most likely holler at you all and just enjoy yourelves. Stopping myself from enjoying my Life while thinking about what others "might" say is an issue that I have moved past many years ago, but that is just me.....

Yea, I've noticed alot of these "artsy farsty I'm trying to be unique" white people into this poetry thing.

I'm still debating if I should go check out Saul, it's right down my street, and I don't even know ticket prices.

I saw on the theater website that it's 25$ a piece for tickets. I don't think I'll be going, but being a fan of Saul, if you have the time I think it's worth it. But on the flier is said , "special appearance by: Saul Williams" so I don't know how much he'll actually be performing. Sometimes those things aren't what you expect, and other times they are great. I've experienced both, not going to a show and the special guest did like a whole set unexpectedly. Also going to a show for the guest, and they like waved and said 'hello'....haha, it's a toss up.
