Guest fackit
One of the greatest poets of Romania and the world. Ancestors were from Ani, they left after the big quake, moved all over Europe, settled in Poland and became, Eminovich, later moved to Romania. Sebastia
That's cool!!! One question, is Emin an Armenian name? I know a lot of Armenians have it, but, is it Armenian. Somebody once told me it was Arabic or something!!

Teutonic Knight
It doesn't sound Armenian but I guess it got 'Armenianized" along with many other foreign non-Armenian names such as Barsegh, Mourad, Vahram, Mher, Anahit etc. Two very famous Armenians with the name Emin I can think of are Hovsep Emin and Gevork Emin. gamavor
An absolutelly gorgeous cape on the Black Sea is named Emin-e (probably feminine). It is named if I'm not mistaken after a Bulgarian girl who chose death rather than being abused by the turks.

Many Armenian girls killed themselves during the genocide rather than being raped.

Somebody once told me it was Arabic or something!! My co-worker's name is Emin. He is Azeri. edit: I'd spelled Azerbadjani. Didn't really know what they're called.
