Thanks Wow the highlights of the last 1/3 of my life so far ... I think I might best summarize my life so far as follows: The first 10 years I became aware of my "self", the second 10 years I was told by others what I should do with my "self", and the last 10 years I was actively trying to be in charge of my "self" and somehow realized the 20 years before had only been a "movie" and not really "life". I'd have to say the highest highlight of my last 10 years was definitely the process of becoming a Ph.D. And not just as something to show off or brag about but rather as the whole process of learning to think for myself, trying to be critical of myself at first then everything else around me, questioning everything and trying hard to find answers without taking mental shortcuts (of course I still have a long way to go in this department) ... This was definitely one of the hardest things that I have really had to sacrifice and work for, to achieve so it just seems that much "sweeter" than everything else that somehow seem to just happen most of the time ... and not just for me, but because I know this has justified in some part, what my parents sacrificed and all their hard work to leave it all behind and move to the US 15 years ago. But there are too many other highlights to list so I won't even try to do a good job ... some of the moments on hyeforum definitely come to mind, the great friendships, the lessons learned, the fun times (and there have been many many!), all the traveling that I got to do, and especially some of the more challenging offroad trips in Utah, Arizona, and northern california that maybe 10 years ago I could only have dreamt of that I might one day get a chance to do.
