Accelerated Posted January 15, 2004 Report Share Posted January 15, 2004 (edited) I gotto a funny story on the subject of suringes: A few years back I was in the hospital for a 'procedure' (nothing serious ), anyhow before they put me on the table they had to put a drip into a vein in my arm. So the inexperienced doctor spent about 5 mins trying to get my vein to come out so he could see it - nothing worked (tapping, me flexing my arm etc). So ended up getting this really thin elastic plastic suringe thingy (basically a plastic tube with a sharp metal end). He shoved that under my skin (near elbow), poking around to find the vein. He finally found it when blood splurted out of the other end. The whole thing was icky, and makes me shiver just remmembering it. .
