fightsport
Id like to get the opinion of EVERYONE in the subject of : I am looking to refer various people to a website that would be informative on the Armenian Genocide. The site must be attractive (with pics and graphics) not full of writing, yet, informative enough for someone of no knowledge of the genocide exit the site with more some change on their views on the history of Armenians. (Note: it needs to be short and sound interesting too) I have gone through some site and can't choose just one .. I found some informative sites, but if the reader doesnt feel like reading 20 pages he/she wont sit around to long. . some examples of site are theforgotten.org genocide.am armenocide.am genocide.ru 24april.org genocide1915.info etc. ............................. thanks Shahan Yacoubian

THOTH
Well Shahan - I would refer you to Domino...but he seems to think that anyone who can't/won't read all the various tomes on theGenocide - well that their opinions aren't worth worrying about... Sasun
Shahan, I am not familiar with all existing genocide websites, but I would recommend http://www.armenian-genocide.org . I don't think any genocide website could be interesting, rather depressing I would say. This one does have pictures and has parts where people completely unfamiliar can make sense of it. Stormig
Don't forget the cultural aspect - http://www.virtualani.freeserve.co.uk
Stormig
Also, you want to refer people to sites that are available in multiple languages. I'm thinking that if you are doing this for a website and want to provide informative links, you want to provide websites that may also have Turkish versions. theforgotten.org I think was like that and so is VirtualAni - the only other version it has is Turkish, and you want any uninformed ignorant ugly smelly Turk to have access to this stuff. DominO123
Well Shahan - I would refer you to Domino...but he seems to think that anyone who can't/won't read all the various tomes on theGenocide - well that their opinions aren't worth worrying about... If you think I will answer someone asking for an "attractive" site with attractive graphic and pics, I would say that you fell on your head Thoth. What will be next? Anyone searching for an "attractive" web-site with "attractive" pics and graphics are not worth worrying about, I don't take back anything I said, and I just confirm it here. Sorry fightsport, if you want to search an "attractive" web-site with attractive graphic and pics. try Nvidia or ATI websites, they may have a little more texts than your liking but at least you won't be decieved. Sip
Domino, virtual ani is an example of a very attractive and very well done site with tons of information. Attractive and inviting doesn't imply shallow and worthless.

Attractive and inviting doesn't imply shallow and worthless. Sip, Virtualani is attractive because it present the history of a city, with architectural achievements... this guy want a site about the genocide, with attractive pictures and graphic... tell me how the hell you could have "attractive" pics on a genocide web-site? Sip
I am not implying the site should be like the Disney store site. I am just saying I for one am not the kind to read more than half a page of text at a time. I am sure a lot of people are much lazier than I in that respect. An attractive site would organize the information in logical, easy to follow, and intuitive ways that don't require tedious reading. In other words, the site should not be cluttered, should use visual cues to help navigation, and should have a simple and trivial to figure out layout. That's what I mean by attractive ... I don't mean it should make me giggle. this is a horrible website this is an attractive site
DominO123
this is an attractive site I agree this one is attractive, but it got a lots of texts. Has it not?
fightsport
<_< Domino, thanks for the constructive critisism I respect your opinion, however I dont think you understood my request. Since there are many people on this forum who probably surf the net more than I do, I expected HELP on the topic at hand , much differently than the way I was replied to. Just to ellaborate on the idea for an "attractive" site ... Its because I have a few Kickboxing promotions for myself coming out soon and wanted to promote "???" as the website to educate people about the Genocide. People who are fight fans, just as Stephan put it, usually are lazy to read a few pages so that is why I needed something that would spark people's interest right away. Im leaning toward these so far : Genocide1915.info april24.info theforgotten.org any more ?????????????
