SilverMotivation
Alright... at school for art we have to do a large scale painting, and I was thinking of doing one of Mt. Ararat -- I want to paint "Mt. Ararat" at the bottom in Armenian script/dialect whatever you want to call it, but I don't speak or write the language. So, if anyone would be able to post the translation here I would be very greatful! --Anoosh--
Dan
You meant you want to write Ararat Ler in Armenian, right? Anyhow, I *think* my spelling is right - it's in Western Armenian spelling anyway, so I don't know.. Here's my attempt at it - corrections are welcome (so you might want to double-check it with another member lol) http://www.student.yorku.ca/~shoghig/dan/ararat.jpg

Dan
the only reason i gave it a shot is that i've seen Ararat typed in Armenian so much that i'm probably right in its spelling as it is now - but not sure about Ler... i always confused the "reh" (long one) and "rah" (short one).. Dan
Oh, and SilverMountain jan... the "d" (last letter in the first word) is usually elongated in the middle by handwriting, i think.. just draw a vertical line from the middle of the "d" (length equal to the long "r")
