It's hard for me as a life long UCLA Bruin to say this ... but USC probably has the best football team in the nation. They are ranked #1 in both ESPN/USA Toay and AP polls. But who get's to play the national championship game? Oklahoma and LSU http://armenians.com/forum/style_images/1/icon8.gif Who came up with this amazing plan? A math formula ... the BCS (bowl championship series) ranking system. All three of these teams have 1 loss this year. USC was only 0.16 points behind LSU in the rankings ... well ... this is where math is stupid. Either have a real play-offs ... or don't call it a "national championship game". This sucks! shiner Posted December 7, 2003 Report Share Posted December 7, 2003 They should have a system where at the end of each season 8 teams play in an elimination tournament. That's only 7 games and they can all be bowl games. The final two teams would end up playing 3 each which is not that much, after 10 or 11 regular season games.
