DominO123
I have a mathematical prove(not evidence but PROVE) that there is infinit numbers of Universes or that the Universe is infinit(in both way I win ) Lets use the first hypotheses, if the Universe started from a big-bang, that would mean that the Universe is finit, unless there was an infinit acceleration during the big-bang, which would be impossible, because of present observations. Take this cases that the Universe started from nothing, and a bubble was created from this nothing. Nothingless is undeterminated, and it always existed before the Universe. Statistically speaking it is impossible(just more than unlikly, just plain impossible), that from this undeterminated nothingless there could be a determinated number of Universes(that would be just one, or 10 or any determinated numbers). If the Universe has an age, it would directly show us that there should be infinit numbers of Universes or that if there is just one it must have an infinit size, or if there is a determinated number of Universes at least one should have an infinit size. Supposing that the Universe is really of infinit of size, or that there is at least one Universe that is of infinit of size, in those cases the conclusion would be the same identical one as if there was infinit number of Universes, because an infinit size Universe would mean, each possibility existing somewhere in this same Universe, including my own existance, because only the fact that I exist supposes that there is no restriction of my existance. This concept is a mathematical prove, since it uses the 7 undeterminated form in mathematic, and their undetermination could only be waved if you start including "determinated" variables to lift the undetermination, when in this cases the determination is non-existing in the nothingless. Anoushik
because an infinit size Universe would mean, each possibility existing somewhere in this same Universe, including my own existance, because only the fact that I exist supposes that there is no restriction of my existance. Domino, I do understand the concept of the Universe being of infinit size but how do you achieve to the conclusion of it being the same as a with the infinit number of Universes? So you just assume that there is "no restriction of my existance?" How did you come to that?Actually, it seems by assuming that there are no restrictions of our existance and there are multiple Universes in which we exist then you are "restricting" the possibilities of existing to what we know in this world. Do I make sense? Maybe I misunderstand you? (I love to discuss topics like this and have read some of your posts on this matter. Unfortunately I haven't had the time to read all of them. But it's always interesting to see what you have to say. )
DominO123
It is the same, to the sense that if the Universe is infinit, in it it will have many identical same patern... which would be same as an infinit number of Universes. As for restriction, only the fact that you exist show us that your existance is not excluded in the wide range of possibility. So since it is not excluded, you would exist elsewhere assuming that the Universe is infinit or that there is infinit numbers of Universes. You may have existed before or after, if you were to exist in 2 places in the same time, there will be a Quantum superposition between you two. Anoushik
Domino, yay!, I think I understand what you're talking about!! The multiple universe theory makes sense to me now as I read the theory of it below. One—the good kind—is that the existence of other universes is logically implied by the theories that best explain features of our own universe. For instance, measurements of the cosmic background radiation (the echo left over from the big bang) indicate that the space we live in is infinite and that matter is spread randomly throughout it. Therefore, all possible arrangements of matter must exist out there somewhere—including exact and inexact replicas of our own world and the beings in it. The idea is a bit like that of monkeys in front of typewriters eventually typing out all of Shakespeare: Quantum theory says that nature is discrete, so the visible universe we inhabit is characterized by a finite amount of information; if space is infinite, this informational pattern is bound to repeat at vast enough distances. A back-of-the-envelope calculation shows that there should be an exact copy of you around 10 to the 10 to the 28th light-years away. http://slate.msn.com/id/2087206#ContinueArticle Is this how you base your belief in the multiple universe? Or part of the explanation?
DominO123
Not exactly, I do not believe that the universe is infinit, but I do believe that there is infinit numbers of universes, this logic is used to say that there is many, perhaps infinit numbers of universe very similair to this one or nearly identical. Since their may be nearly identical, the you on other universes are you as well, conscienceness or call it self awarness of you live in those numbers of universes in the same time. This is related to the observators effect I was talking about, I won't write about this unless you want to. Anoushik
First of all, then, can you please define "universe"? Because it seems like your definition of "universe" is different from the one in the article.
Sasun
but I do believe that there is infinit numbers of infinit, Do you mean infinite number of finite?
DominO123
anoushik, The Universe is the Universe, I am not interprating anything... there is infinit numbers of them, and you are living in the same time in infinit numbers of Universes. Read the Quantum suicide post, it gives an interpretation of the Multiple World theory. Sasun, I corrected.
Anoushik
Great Domino... now you really got me into it! I've been researching and reading about Quantum Mechanics for the last two hours! Now that I've some free time due to holidays I promise to read more about this before I ask you any other questions.
