MosJan
HOST - Vartan Petrossian and Hrant Tokhatian http://www.himnadram.org/people/vpetrosian.jpg Vartan Petrossian Hello, I am Vartan Petrossian. This year I am fortunate to host the upcoming telethon. Why did I decide to participate in this program? The thing is, is that last year when I was in Artsakh, I saw the kinds of roads created by the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund. They were marvelous roads, big, rough and beautiful highways, the ones I have only seen in Europe. During the whole trip my brother was explaining to me the significance of this road and how important it is for Artsakh and Armenia. And so, by seeing that amazing road I realized that the money raised has really served its goal. As a showman, I decided to become a participant of this wonderful program also. The telethon is a fundraiser, but for me fundraising is not the only thing that is important. I am going to try to change peoples’ attitude toward philanthropy. The telethon will take place on November 27. I am impatiently waiting for that day because the telethon is also an appearance for me, and an actor impatiently waits for his appearance. http://www.himnadram.org/people/htokhatian.jpgHrant Tokhatian Hello. I am Hrant Tokhatian. This year I have the honor of hosting the telethon organized by the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund. I think that we all should participate in the telethon because it serves a noble purpose. I have been in Karabagh many times, whether going on a tour or just spending time, and I have passed the road which is being constructed by funding of the “Hayastan” Fund. I can tell you that it is just marvelous. When you go there, you will see for yourself. We will meet on November 27 in Los Angeles and together we will construct the remaining part of the “North-South” highway. There is not much left. Let’s finish it together this year. Mark Geragos is one of the most well known lawyers of the U.S.A. Right now he is a lawyer of the world-famous pop - star Michael Jackson. Larry Zarian has been elected mayor of Glendale four times consecutively. At the present he occupies high ranks in L.A.’s municipal courts and hosts his own show called "The Larry Zarian Forum". America-Hye
I have sent money to this telethon many times. Even though as a bisexual I am not in EXACTLY the same category as those insulted in the recent telethon incident, I may decide not to send any money this year. Since when does anyone refuse money for a good cause from other Armenians?

Armat
How with you Hagi every subject ends on sex! Who freakin cares. This thread was about fund raising not homo, bio, and multi anything...Frankly if an organization is raising funds and the donors are sincere then they could of donated the money anonymously unless their intention was to publicize their organization! These telethons are also watched by many family members since often it includes entertainment and the last thing I want is to have my seven year old asking about Armenian gay groups etc. that has nothing to do with the telethon. America-Hye
Armat, ALL kinds of Armenian organizations give money ALL the time, as GROUPS and not as individuals. These organizations come in all shapes and sizes. Do you REALLY think that your seven year old has never heard the word "gay" or heard about gays? Just turn on the TV and one of the most popular shows is about 5 gay guys teaching heterosexual men how to dress. The PROBLEM for you is that these are ARMENIAN homosexuals. Again, the Armenian community living in never-never land. "Mer meche asang pan chega!!!!!!" Not true. It is found at the highest echelons of our community, just not out in the open.
