Maral Posted December 2, 2003 Report Share Posted December 2, 2003 SIP,I think you find that comforting,but I don't Being no more,or being part of that light they speak of is scary to me,because that implies they are no more they are just a part of something big,does that make sense?HYEBRUIN,I agree that there are people who have the abilitly to communicate with those who have crossed over.And you're right,hopefully none of us will find out what the other side is like for another 150 years TOTH,I lost my father 6 weeks before my daughter was born.Even though I have 2 other girls,the fact that he didnt' get to meet her hurts so much.Everytime I'ld go for an ultrasound,the baby wouldn't allow us to see if it was a boy or a girl,she'ld have her legs crossed or be in a difficult postion...and my dad would say,don't bother ,if the baby isnt' showing you what it's got,it's a girl again It's absolutely devastating to lose a parent,but you're right once you get over the pain you b ecome numb and after that nothing is important but family and friends and good times,cause in a split second it's all over.So sad...but it's all a part of the cycle....ok anyone else depressed??????????????????????????????????????? I haven't lost a parent yet but I'm sure the time will eventually come. I have lost a grandfather though a few years ago. I was the last one to see him. He suffered a lot in his life and watched a daughter, a wife, and a mother wither away and lose the battle to cancer.... well, his mom died of very old age Anyhow, the point is, he died with a smile on his face... as if saying that he was able to take all this stuff life had to throw at him and survive like a man! He was ready to let go and was done. I want to die like that. I don't believe in other side. I don't believe in ghost stories and people flying back and forth through multiple universes and spirits and big red rats with pitch forks. I believe in life and I think of death as the end to life. People have always tried to justify their current existence using their imagination and somehow concocting a "next step" ... well ... that's all it is. Imagination!!!! THOTH Posted December 2, 2003 Report Share Posted December 2, 2003 Maral - I know exactly how you are feeling...I miss my dad too...big time...he was someone that i had great non-verbal communication with - sometimes like we knew each others thoughts...and hhe was someone I could really spill my heart out to and talk things with him like I could/can with no one else...and of course my youngest's birthday is always a bittersweet time for me...as is any holiday where the family gets together and he is not with us...same with my godparents - who had no children and I was very very close to...much in life hurts...thats for sure...but there is great joy too...and I know you understand that as well - with 3 of your own... I think that if when you died you evaporated into a ball of light, that'd be cool. Ppl wouldn't be scared of that. But the whole body decomposing, seizures, bullet wounds, being torn apart in car accidents, it's a scary issue. So in that case death becomes macabre. But it's part of Life, such as is living itself. I'm overe it now, but I think about death a lot just because I guess i'm trying to understand Life more, knowing that death exists for real, I question what i'm doing, or what any of us are doing from time to time.
