Armenians And Armenia

Well, one would indeed think that for example a rich country like sweden would be good at providing good doctors to their citizens.

When we compare armenia to sweden, sweden is really in a bad state when it comes to medical esistance.

The suidice rate goes up every year here!!!

I can't even find a good dentist(the last dentist ruined my teeth ,:bangin:

and the second dentist I visited didin't want any patients ), the hole system is bad here and sweden is such a rich country compared to armenia ,and advanced techically more than in armenia

but do you think its easy to find a good doctor here?

People die here waiting for help in the hallways of the hospitals.

I can easily say that the doctors in armenia are way better, I went to a doctor there...and they were very helpful and good

+it costs less than in sweden(a very rich country)

In armenia I sat down in the hallway waited for my turn, and then got to the doctor.

Pieace of cake, thats the way it should be everywhere...

what im trying to say is, people like to complain in armenia...it's easy to get away with

You can't be so critical towards Armenia, Hunny. If you are critical about your own country what do you expect of others (e.g. even Americans). Why are you bothered by whore girls? As if there are none in the US. I belive there is an equal ratio of normal to sluty people. In fact your negativeness reminds me of a girl (American) who had to move to England with her parents and she hated it! She thought all the people (that is in the bording school) gave her death stares, her teachers disliked her just because of her accent and that everyone is in one or more ways "different" from those in the US. I have to tell you I shared a room with her and it was obvious that she was wrong, everyone was treating her fine. But the point is she is still here and she is doing fine, she has pleanty of friends and fun.

I realise that Armeia is different but so is Uzbekistan and so is Russia, but it is getting better (after the fall of USSR). You have to see the beauty, though, of people and also the architecture etc. When you leave you will regret taking things for granted while you were there (in Armenia).

It is very typical almost a stigma when you talk or say something good about Armenia some one somewhere jumps out with a negative portrayal, yes there are many things wrong, but who is perfect after all? So many critics and yet so little contributors for well being of Armenia. What is the next? Oh let me guess men kiss each other, or cop takes a bribe, or people have hygiene (ever been in France?) Or in Holland, been at the red light district? Sooooo what. I wonder if one who could make $$$$$ would bitch about any of the above, for how long you people are going to realize for better or worst That’s the only Homeland we have for now. The Irony is with present day ROA some call for greater Armenia, lets get this one on the right track shell we? Then worry about Tsovits tsov Hayastan.

To each his own ... I guess for some living in a foreign land amongst foreign people and contributing to the well being of a nation OTHER than their own - is more acceptable, than living in our own country amongst our own beautiful people.

I for one cannot wait till I can leave here and go to MY country and live amongst MY people. By leaving our lands and pledging allegiance to a "odar" we are GIVING IN and succombing to the Turkish plans of completely pushing us off our lands

Also, any attempt to make Armenia appear as a unpleasant place to live, has failed, at least to me.

LONG LIVE ARMENIA

Edward jan,

Menk hayastani lavnenk ozom bolorsel and we are not talking about tsovits tsov hayastan, but about Hayastani Handrapedotione! :)

Armenia is in a worse state then many other countries, foremost the european countries. After the collaps of soviet, today, many of the former soviet countries are dealing with simliar problems as armenia. We do not blame armenia because we are all armenians. We are simply discussing problems that are important to us, and has to be solved, and that is up to us armenians to solve.

We have to talk about things that are negative or else how should we solve those problems! I take the problems in armenia very seriously, and so does the majority of the hyeforum members, I guess,, or else they wouldn't be here....so one can say that we are here to contribute to a better future for armenia and armenians( the least we do!)

koko can I please tell you how it really is?

I live in Armenia and I know dozens of Expats, diasporans that have moved here. You would not believe how much they disrespect Armenia and the local Armenians. I begin to wonder if we dislike our fellow Armenians more than the turks.

Every other comment that comes out of their mouths is yet another blow at Hayastantsis, about what liars they are, how they are stupid and dirty and so on.

Since my move here I have kept my mouth shut and have always mingled with the locals. I have talked to them as equals, we have so much to learn from them and there is so much we can teach them from what we have learned living abroad.

The sad reality is that we are very much divided, and I honestly do not see many expats here that give a shit about fixing this problem. They are either here just to study and go back to Lebanon (ya the Lebanese-Armenians are brutal at judging the locals), or because they have jobs that pay them $$$$$$$$$ and that's all they care about.

koko I think people like you should honestly move here and set an example for these expats, I know I always try to do my part, yet they look at me as some sort of a traitor. :sadangel:

I agree with you and this attitude is more prevalent among the Diaspora as much as it is in the people who migrate back. My family and I have historically been part of the diaspora, but my family spends most of their social time around Hayastantsis due to the fact that we get alienated when we are around other Diaspora Armenians. I think this is because that the Armenians who have lived outside of Armenia for a longer period of time have become more suseptable to assimilation. They feel that the Anglo-Saxon way of life is the standard, but yet they fail to realize that the Armenian culture predates them.

I do not think its about capital, but rather what you are taught that causes drifts. The parents play a pivital role in how this ideology is shaped. Parents place these preconceived stereotypes among the youth instead of placing the emphesis on teaching them the Armenian language, history, or culture.

Their use to be one Armenia, but apparently now their is a dozen or so. When I read about freedom fighters like Monte Melkonian I wonder what inspired him to give up his future at Oxford to fight for Armenian liberation, but when I read more about Armenian history I understand why.

Barev Proud Expat

Actually I have lived in armenia for 3 months though, Im a student , so i feel im to young to move and live in armenia, maybe in the future.

Nevertheless i stayed there for 3 months, and well, I know a lot more then you or hayastantsik think I know about todays armenia or armenians!

The thing is I only heard complaing from the hayastantsis themselves, but then I only socialized with hayastantsinere.

Many were just bashing eachother , and saying negative things about ARMENIANS in general( just because the wanted to have a reason to move from there).

Others were saying it has gotten worse in armenia the past few years, and I agree with them, because I was there two years earlier as well, and a lot had changed, first and formost the people had changed and become more rude and just acted very unnormal, it looked more as if it was a kurdish village then the capital city of Armenia.

There are still very lovely and adorable people living in armenia...I'v meet many.

They were students, and hard-working people, there situation is not the best, some of them hardly get any salaries, or pensions. How could they afford to keep their houses warm in the winter, when eletricity is so expensive...

But this is not unique just for armenia, but most of the former soviet countries are in the same situation as armenia.
