Yervant1
It is with heavy heart, I inform you of the passing away of our veteran member Arpa. I just found out about it few days ago, when in fact he was gone for almost a month. Whether we agreed with his opinions or not, one thing was for sure that he awoke our passions about the topics that he got involved in, particularly in literature and languages. He had a peculiar sense of humour and very much young at heart. He loved his race and country with honest criticism when it was deemed necessary. Thank you Arpa for your contributions to this forum from the start, all of the ten thousand plus posts. May you rest in peace, we will miss you! Farewell veteran. P.S. Dear members it would be appreciated if you post some of your fond memories of him here, for all to see and remember Arpa.

yergatuni1
Sorry to hear about his passing. I remember he gave a 'colorful' commentary about my Saint Minas thread a few years back. He certainly added a different insight to the conversation. I shall miss his posts.
Armenak
I was looking up some of his archived posts and just came across this. I knew he was one of the older members of this community but I am still in shock. He was such a great contributor and also very dedicated and prolific, so I expected something had happened as there hadn't been any recent posts by him. He could be quite quarrelsome but it was always because of his dedication to Armenian culture and language. His post history should be anthologized to savor. RIP, Arpa. Ani
So sad to see this… I remember the 1st time I naively involved myself into a discussion with Arpa about "Եվ" or "և" subject not knowing who and how knowledgable he is…and he told me off for posting Isahakyan's Լիլիթ… But he was also softhearted and kind, he messaged me apologizing and complimenting on some of the things I wore and encouraged to continue. I learned so much from him, and I'm amply thankful for that. May he rest in peace… I'm thankful to Hyeforum as well for the opportunity to be here and learn…
