Accelerated
just watched the nightly news - apparently most of the insurgents managed somehow to leave Falluja before the attack, probably knowing fullwell that they wouldnt be able to face up to the US Army concentrated firepower even in a city. Did someone say: "Hello ViiiiyyyyeettNam!"? Edited November 11, 2004 by Accelerated
Nakharar
They are razing Fallujah to the ground and obliterating the Sunni population just to send a warning to the Shiites in the South. I would call it another Stalingrad. Or a repeat of the Mongol invasion in the 13th century. We all know what happened to the invaders in the end. By the way, the Iraqi civilian losses are probably numbering 40,000 since the beginning of the war.
Armat
We may end up installing another strong dictator to control Iraq or monarch otherwise there is probably 95% chance of civil war between Sunni’s, Shiites and Kurds. If Kurds declare independence Turkey will invade northern Iraq and Iran will back the Shiites and Soudies the Sunnis I guess Sadam was the right person for the right culture, people to rule over. Dave
Not even 40,000! Recent studies show 100,000 victims since the start of the Iraqi occupation.
Harut
Not even 40,000! Recent studies show 100,000 victims since the start of the Iraqi occupation. style_images/master/snapback.png does that number include people who died from chronic illnesses, heart attacks, road accidents, honor killings, homicides, old age, suicides, etc... Accelerated
...and I doubt it will end anytime soon. I wonder how long America will last.
skhara
...and I doubt it will end anytime soon. I wonder how long America will last. style_images/master/snapback.png Depends on how much paper can be printed. A war of attrition means causing the slow hemereging of a nations wealth. The insane spending on the Iraq war is actually the greatest weapon of those opposed to Judeo-American ambitions. Unfortunately, it is all the hardworking peoples of America who will feel the full wrath of the consequences for their ignorance. The slow everyday casualties is of psychologic value mostly, although it is very real for the families who's children come home cripled or in a body bag.
