As for this one, I really do hope Shevardnadze's comment is a joke, as well as this whole article. If it isn't, then I can only hope Kocharian never uses ancient history to enter anywhere. This discovery made the president ofGeorgia Edward Shevardnadze happy. He has stated that "now Georgiahas serious arguments for entering the European Union". According toShevardnadze the discovery proves that the Georgians are the oldestEuropeans so they can demand Europe to admit them to the EuropeanUnion.
