vava
LOWER prices on CDs, concerts etc.The cheapest ticket you could get for Aznavour's concert here last year was 80 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) euros!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder I didn't go! That's right! And music is now all about access - if people can't afford to listen to the music they enjoy, of course they're going to share! The industry really needs to adapt to a new paradigm. And it's happened before - when cassette tapes came out, they predicted the end of the industry (a result of all that illegal copying no doubt). What happened? The exact opposite... The advent of cassettes actually helped increase recording sales. People had Wlakmans, and Car audio - oversized LPs were not portable, and sound quality on copied tapes was slightly compromised... Anyway, the industry has a history of resisting technology. They should, instead, learn to adapt & harness technology to their benefit. Imagine, internet technologies will allow access to highly specific music to listeners who otherwise would never buy such recordings. Ex. if I want to hear bluegrass, I get on the net and download some bluegrass... Record companies should be offering the public what they want. Then, they will continue to grow... vava
Azat, if you ask my bro, he'll tell you LPs still have the best recording and sound quality And I would entirely agree (on the right components, of course). LPs offer a much warmer sound than the comparitively 'sterile' sound of digital audio. But it also depends on the style of music - most electronica would just sound bizarre if it wasn't on CD. Plus, there's something romantic about the crackles and pops.
nairi
most electronica would just sound bizarre if it wasn't on CD. Hmm. Not sure what you mean by "electronica". If you mean techno, drum&bass, house etc., then LP still sounds great! Not only that, they make mixing a lot easier for , although they do have some very good CD players for that nowadays as well... Agreed on the romantic side of LPs
DominO123
Where do you find those pictures Sip? And why am I that fat dude? ----------- for those who share music and who are worried about being taken to court by RIAAhttp://www.theinquirer.net/?article=10733RIAA will take 2191.78 years to sue everyoneThey will probably start with those in the US. EDITED: Afterall, does Vava law don't say? Everything takes longer than you expect, even if you account for Vava's Law.
