DominO123 Posted July 7, 2003 Report Share Posted July 7, 2003 More than a year or so ago, he claimed that the documents about the martial courts would be released on the next weeks(back then)... More than a year passed... those documents that were supposed to be released are still nowhere to be found. Few months ago, I emailed him from his Middle East departement University email, asking him that as an interested Armenian, I just wonder when those files would be released, since what he claimed didn't realised. I still am waiting any answer... I may email him again, but unfortunitly, I don't find his email. Can someone be glad to give it to me? I want to ask him, why he has not answered me, and when those documents will come out... why they were still not out, more than a year after he announced officialy that they will be out. DominO123 Posted July 7, 2003 Author Report Share Posted July 7, 2003 (edited) Shaws, is a so-called Middle East Historian and Ottomanist, in fact the first series of historians from the Chair of Ottoman history found by Turkey. His wife Ezel Kural and him were the poineers of the Introduction in the US of such Chairs back at the 70's, when the Turkish government at the 50s anniversary of the Armenian genocide announced that it will give the opportunity to Western scholars to study the "Other Side of the story"(This expression, "other side"came from that period). The ARIT grants from the American Research Institute in Turkey were founded, in order to finance those American chairs and "searchers." Shaws has been exposed to copy a Turkish work by an American Greek historian years ago, when the historian presented the orginal work and compared with Shaws one, I may present that maybe in another thread or this one if I have time. Shaws claims are even more ridiculous than Gurun, he go as far as claiming that around 200,000 Armenians died in WWI, and that the "relocation"was a temporary decision, while even Gurun doesn't claim such nonesense. He as well claim that less than 20,000 Armenians lost their lives from 1894-1896, and he picture that as a loss of revolutionaries etc... His researches concerning the Armenians pratically all orginate from his Turkish wife Ezel Kural, that is as well working at that chair of history, and with him, as well has recieved those so-called research grants.
