i would jsut liek to say that armenians r a good people and this little rabiz mickey mouse army that has spurred in the community the past couple of years has totally degraded the armenian culture viewed by other people from their eyes.. u can still have pride and lvoe your race but not in a low mannered and degrading way resroting to racial violence with others and setting your own laws or mans code of nature or something. i am proud to be armenian and proud to achieve success through education.. i see many armenian teens choosing that rabiz lifetyle which just distorts their life. it is nothing more than a waste of time ... isntead of cruising with daddys mercedes they should do soemthing to improve something for another armenian isntead of makin JAMO appointments with antoher rabiz because he violated the code of the rabiz or something. wak up people this rabiz thing is just hindering us as a race and culte.. its time we go beyond what we see and achieve a higher status.

I want to say something on the RABIZ issue. I partly agree with the previous entry. There are some Armenian teens that get Rabiz in a wrong way.

It is just some simple funny music that you listen to sometimes. DON'T GET IT AS A LIFESTYLE!!GROW UP!I listen to Rabiz, but I don't get it seriously.IT IS JUST SOME MUSIC!Education is much more important. We, Armenians, should focus on progress. SHOW THE WORLD WHAT WE ARE! STOP PLAYING RABIZ GAMES!

please don't associate rabiz with having Mercedes. Otherwise doesn't that mean that rabiz people are more successful in business? :-)

And one more thing. Do you think that non armenians find too much differences between rabiz and non rabiz armenians?

Actually, the thing about rabiz having mercedes means that they are high in business...sorry to say but that's not true. It's called "put 300 down and 199 a month and you got yourself a benz" Sadly enough, which to this day i have not figured out, people are too much into showing off what they can't have. Even with the rabiz, they wear things they can't afford, drive cars they can't ever have. Life is what it is, you can take it as it is or live in a fantasy world, sadly enough, some armenians have chosen to live in a fantasy world. Like one guy said, people need to think about their education rather than what kind of car so and so was driving, or else we as a race are pretty much screwed.

IM ARMENIAN AND IM PRETTY PISSED OFF AT THIS RABIZ MOVEMENT. THEY ARE GOING AROUND IN THEIR LEASED MERCEDEZES AND THERE DADDYS DRESS SHOES AND MAKING I DISGRASE OUT OF THEMESELVES AND OUR CULTURE. FIRST THEY HAVE TO REALISE THAT "RABIZ" IS A LOOK. (AND ITS A FUN LOOK ONCE IN A WHILE) ITS MUSIC. BUT IT IS NOT ATTITUDE. THIS WHOLE RABIZ ATTITUDE WAS CREATED IN AMERICA. THE ONLY RABIZ ATTITUDE PEOPLE IN ARMENIA ARE THOSE WHO LIVED HEAR AND PICKED IT UP. I WENT TO ARMENIA RESENTLY AND WHEN I DESCRIBED THE ARMENIANS THAT LIVED HEAR THEY COULD NOT STOP LAUPHING. IF THERE ARE ANY RABIZ READING THIS I ONLY HAVE ONE WORD FOR YOU. "STOP."

PEACE!!!

Being from UK im not sure whats going on. I know a little about the Rabiz movement and all I have to say is this:

Rabiz is a phase which some Armenians have grabbed onto as a 'new' culture. Until another group of Armenians come up with another 'group' or 'style' this will be around for a while.

Otherwise, if you oppose, just dont talk about it.

a bit of info for u all. rabiz is short for a russian word meaning blue collar art. the rabiz were people that were the singers at weddings and funerals. they formed their own union calling themselves as rabiz. it was the non mainstream Musician that got together. and now this genre has turned into the so called mainstream music. com on armenian music isnt just "rabiz" and this whole attitude is pretty much a disgrace to other armenians. now people that r not from armenia but r armenian, such as parskahye and beirutsi r calling all armenians from armenian (hayastanci) rabiz. this is a stupid sterotype. first of all the so called rabiz people should look in the mirror. u dont go to school/class w/ a suit on or a designer dress. this isnt a fashion show. concentrait on educating urself. i agree w/ the first, second entries. rabiz is a type of music like classical or disco. does this mean that all of us who like classical should dress up like Mozart? com on grow up, a music genra shouldnt influence ur whole moral system. get real.

WOW!!!

that's something new!!!!

I am originally from Armenia, but I grew up in Russia.....

believe me: RABIZ is not a Russian word!!!

this word is originally Turkish and in modern Armenian (not slang) means "odd" & "tasteless" and is usually reffered to clothes or just appearence. This word was used to make fun of somebody that looks unusual. it has been used in Armenia long, long before Grisha & Nor hayer made their first CD.

Aye Rabizes, I like many of you people, but I always wonder where the hell you guys get your clothes from? Start getting involved guys in politics and real Armenian affairs. I see the Hyeastanci Rabizes always saying "Armenian for Life", and "100% Armenian" with their Armenian flags on their folders, but I never seem to see any of them at any Armenian events commemerating the Genocide, marches for Kharabagh, or anything pertaining to the Armenian cause. All I see is beruitsies and some parskahyes. Im parskahye myself, and it seems the people who least express themselves as Armenians are the ones fighting for Armenia. I know a beruitsie guy who even went to Armenia to become a Fedayi. All I have to say to the Rabizes is start getting involved in Armenian affairs instead of starting fights. THANK YOU.

Rabiz is something which actually has an explanation. Look, you come from a poor and a proud country to a rich country where all different races that live there are called Americans. These Rabiz people want to live like Hollywood stars and identify themselves and showing around them who they are... Armenians. I must say though, that this has went to far because they are representing Armenians no with their culture or education but with clothes and cars. It's okay to show off and keep it real but all of you Rabiz people, my brothers! be more implicated into helping your motherland, I'm sure you can do a better job than the rest of the SPURK, help us rise again!

Cable firms signed up the largest share of the two million new subscribers, with 61% preferring to get their broadband via this route.

Part of the growth has been because regional US telephone firms have been running promotions that offer DSL at very low prices.

Cable firms responded to these promotions by cutting their own prices and boosting line speeds.

Bruce Leichtman said most of the growth came from people signing up for the cut price broadband deals.

"Without these promotions, this level of growth may prove to be difficult to maintain," he said.

But despite the growth, most US net users are still dialling up to the net with a modem. Recent growth means that broadband users in the US are hovering just under 40% of all net users.

moghes (hahaha, i just couldn't resist. no hard feelings)

you have no idea what rabiz is. search the forum. there should be a lot of info on rabiz.

nevertheless, what you've described is a HUGE problem of its own. and, imo, more disgraceful and harming.

btw, recently, i've being noticing a growing number of youth that are mixture of both (rabiz and "wannabes"). that's one confused bunch.

To understand what rabiz lifestyle is first of all one should listen to rabiz music, then get acqainted with some rabiz people.

I never heard of black wannabees (Latinos, some white Americans -yes, but Armenians ??? Why would one want to be a "nigger wannabe" if he can be rabiz :) ).

A small selection of "Nigger Wannabe's" for you all:

http://www.armenianclub.com/THASHADIEST1

http://www.armenianclub.com/gangstalife1

Notice they all use the terms "homie", "hater" (words derived from the rap/hip-hop culture)

Humm... some variaty we got. I guess they were bored with rabiz. I was actually really bored of having rabiz armos, now we got nigger-armos

What if the black people started to be rabiz? That would be something !

Hey Gogo, why not investigate and find what's causing this anomaly? :)

How come we Armenians are always trying to be more like Americans or Europeans but neither the Americans nor the Europeans ever try to be like us?

because we are few, they are many

because they are progressive, we are not

because we are 'otaramol'

because they are 'arajadem', we are 'hetamnats'

because they don't care about Armenia, we care about Europe/America

because we are poor, they are rich (we are doing something wrong, they are doing something right)

Do you expect them to be willing to become Armenians when the number of Rabiz, Nigger rap, and Moshe Armenians is out of any reasonable proportion. Other than that your question is something that might be food for thought for another millenia.
