Harut Posted April 24, 2003 Report Share Posted April 24, 2003 isn't it time for our Intelligentsia to get together and develop a national lont-term plan. and i mean lont-term, 100-300-year long.there were a couple of books published on this topic. and one of them, i think, was meant to be a rough-draft of something similar. any ideas? opinions? I am guessing that the current administration only cares about the next election and that is it. (I mean, writers are supposed to be part of intelligentsia, aren't they?) Oh, I remember now, we had another member of intelligentsia, Vano Siradeghian - a writer. Apparently he didn't think that serving the nation was one of his functions. But he did think that being corrupt and the number one gangster in the country was his function. Another member of intelligentsia - Vazgen Sargsian. We say that he was a hero. Was he really? Didn't he with Vano go against the people and bring tanks in Yerevan when Levon didn't manage to get the popular vote. How much farther would we have gone if this didn't happen? Even Vazgen would benefit, he would be alive today. I don't have much hopes connected to our intelligentsia as long as they don't think morality is important.
