He says that there are many secrets in his family, and that although he is of French & Brazilian nationalities (he holds both passports), there is history of his grandfather, and other relatives living in, and doing business in both Iran & Egypt: in Iran probably in Isfahan, Hamadan & Tehran. His family name is now 'Hougaz', some of his relatives go by 'Khougaz' but a priest close to the family cliam that it 'Khougazian' and that his origins are Armenian. Harut Posted November 24, 2002 Report Share Posted November 24, 2002 MJ already gave the possible Armenian root to that last name.i just want to make a note that one's last name need not to end in "ian/yan" to make it Armenian.if their last name is "Khougaz"(Ghougas) then it is very possible that it was like that even when they identified themselves as Armenians. For all of those on this forum that believe that there aren't any 'otar' wishing to be Armenian, I have a very 'hopeful' Armenian on my hands... well, who knows - maybe he is Armenian after all...
