Gayane
I'm posting this information in the hopes of aiding armenian women in the L.A. area who are victims of domestic violence. (I came across this info in my search for already established non profit orgs that cater to the needs of armenian women) Phone number: 818 240-0888 Its location is confidential (I had to sign a confidentiality agreement before I could speak with the head of the Project), but any victim who calls this number will be offered all help available. The Project, headed by an Armenian woman, offers culturally sensitive services to armenian victims of domestic violence. Language barriers, lack of familiarity with the american system, strong stigma attached to the victim by the armenian community and other cultural issues are all taken into account and the help that is offered is tailored accordingly. If you know anyone in the L.A. area who is a victim of domestic violence in our community please give them this number and urge them to call. Azat
Southern California Battered Men’s Association(818)555-6392 Oh, and if they answer the phone as Joe’s Bar, don’t worry you have the right number. Sorry, I do not mean to make fun of this serious subject. I think men who abuse their wife or kids should be hung.
