MosJan
BELLICOSE RHETORIC IN AZERBAIJAN DOES NOT SUBSIDE BAKU, JULY 18, ARMENPRESS:In an interview to a Baku-based 525 Gazette Azeri ex-defense minister Gen. Tacaddin Mehdiyev called on the authorities to launch military operations for "liberation of Azeri occupied lands." "If Azerbaijan starts a war, there is no doubt that it will be victorious. The prospects for us winning the war are wonderful," Tacaddin Mehdiyev tells the daily and adds that he does not believe that a peaceful solution to the problem would be in Azerbaijan's interests: "I do not believe that a peaceful solution to the problem will guarantee that Karabagh will remain a full part of Azerbaijan. I think the problem can be resolved only in a military way. I cannot see any way other than the military way on this issue," he says. In Mehdiyev's opinion, both Azerbaijan's economic potential and its manpower mean it is capable of winning if the war starts: "Some people say that if we start hostilities, the countries of the world and the international community will adopt a negative attitude towards us. But I do not think that any country will stop us liberating our own lands because we have no intention of occupying anyone's land." According to the belligerent ex-minister, the current state of Azeri army is much better than when it was created." "I see Azerbaijan's future only in creating a professional army. I do not believe that the Azerbaijani army will be successful without this. It is more expedient to maintain a 40,000-strong professional army than a 100,000-strong army," the former minister admits. It should be noted that under Conventional Forces in Europe Treaty Azerbaijan's quota is 60,000 military personnel.

Artur
Well, i just envy the optimism of the ex-defense minister. His words are simply directed to bring the spirit to azirs, whose never ever had any spirit to fight. To correct him, if Azerbaijan starts the war, the number of losses will overweight armenian surely, because an attacker always loses more than a defender. Moreover, azerbaijan will need to libarate huge piece of land for the relatively small Azerbaijan. Moreover, Artsax is mountanious region and is perfect for guerilla fighting, which makes very difficult to move forward for azeris if they really decide to attack and liberate. Plus, Artsaxis were always geat fighting people who have more experience than those azeris, and surely now their homeland better than anyone. And this bulshit about starting war is been in our ears for about 10 years... typical azeri character, too much talking - doing nothing. Paul bunyan
MJ, am I happy or sad that aliyez and probably his son, aliyev junior, are going to the "eternal prison". an interesting question, I would think that it would be good idea for alyiev a current hitler, and the azerbayjansnot attack Karabagh, to steal what is rightfully the lands of Armenians, if they do they will suffer a great many casualties, I mean considering where they are going to go, Why hurry the inevitable! MJ
You don't sound much of a Christian, do you, while defying your primary Christian responsibility of sharing the Gift of Eternal Life with others by bringing them to the Lord, but rather feeling satisfied that someone is not going to be part of the Kingdom. Juggernaut
I think its a perfect example of what in history is called 'sabre-rattling' and nothing more, escpessially with the peace talks that are currently taking place. Azeris know full well, that even if they do win a war it will surelly last more than a few years and the economy will suffer as a consequence, not least of the reasons being the possibility of sanctions placed upon them for aggressive actions. MJ
Paul, Are you a primitive or a hypocrite? You can be both. Are you trying to cheat yourself, the Good Lord, or the others? You may be doing all three at the same time.

Paul bunyan
MJ, are you a Christian or a mason? you can't be both. the "turks" have kidnapped and white slaved Armenian girls for centuries in addition to the genocide they have afflicted on Armenians in 1895, 1905, 1915 and the continuing illegal, and inhuman, blockade of Armenia. and how about the atrocities they delighted in during the pograms in sumgait.Their evil speaks volumes! if all the evil people disappeared, the world would be vastly better off. the "turks" will never change they are as incorrigiable, as the people of ninevah and the amalakites! MJ
Primitive Banalian, Let me put it this way: I see nothing wrong with the Masons, I know at least few of them - Armenian and others, and I am happy to enjoy their friendship. Additionally, I know where the anti-Masons come from, and I prefer the Masons to the anti-Masons, if I have to make a choice. I also think that I have nothing to fess up to you, but feel that you finally have to fess something up to yourself so that to understand better your place in this life. Note that there is no need to fess it up to me -I have very little interest in it, since whether you fess up being a Mason or a Moron, hypothetically speaking, you come across pretty transparently. I would also add that whatever organizations I may or may not belong to, I would not be ashamed to disclose, since I wouldn't join them if I am not comfortable with making it public, and I couldn't care less what you or your alikes may think. Paul bunyan
MJ, I am no more a turkist than you are, I know people in Armenia, the recaptured regions, Kashunik, Kovsakan, Karavajar, Kashatagh will never be given back to the azeri. However, people could use alot of helpthere, such as irrigation piping, in Kovsakan and water filters in Karavajar so the people that live in these regions can stay healthy and be able to cultivate more than a portion of their land. I just want to know if there are people or organizations other than the United Methodist Churchwho just help out with charity projects like food and clothing distribution, and monies for hospitals interested in helping these struggling Armenians rebuilding the regions of their ancient homeland, free, now for the first time in 400 years who are doing good works there. MJ
But you haven't said whether or not you are an Azeri activist. But of course, Azeri activists ARE a secretive bunch its well known. On a more serious note, I don’t even care whether you are Armenian or Turk. I don’t judge about people based on their ethnicity. I know a lot of Armenians that I wouldn’t like to associate with, and know some Turks that would enjoy associating with. I am just trying to demonstrate you that “what goes around comes around.” And I can also add that I find your declarations lacking consistency very frequently, and that's what puzzles me. Juggernaut
Calm down you two, personally I dont care if MJ happens to be a Mason or not. What worries me about Armenians who also happen to be Masons is whether their alligences lie with their brethren or the Masonic Order first. If the latter is the case, then there indeed is something to worry about. I am bringing up this point, because I do not believe the Order is like your average tennis or bowling club, where men get together to enjoi each others company and have a good time around a table with a cup of cofee. Masonry has on not one occasion in the past shown that it has and still does have political and economic clatter. I also must add the fact that the major Churches have allready associated Freemasonry with heresy. And once again MJ, I AM NOT and conspiracy theorist, I am simply stating FACTS which put together are worrying.

Paul bunyan
Juggernaut, I think that MJ is making a little joke, a very little joke, indeed. he means place instead of " "Platitudes" which means "a quality of being dull or insipid, banal.
