Sip
DAMN! Azat that's horrible. Glad you guys are ok That totally sucks. Well, I guess driving a volvo does have it's advantages, eh? I hear they are some of the safest sedans ... what kind of car was she driving? Hope it wasn't a big ass suv. I would just about DIE if something like that happened to my blazer ... Accelerated
quote:I would just about DIE if something like that happened to my blazer ...Same here (with the Mazda), but instead of dying myself, I would beat her to death with the wheel lock....LOL
Azat
No Sip jan, she was in a Mustang. I did feel really bad for her as well as she was young and was scared. She initially felt that she had a green, but there was a witness on the opposite side of the street waiting on the red light that she had run thru. I do feel okay, it is going to be a hastle more than anything else. My car needs both body work as well as mechanical as the car will now run more than 10 feet or so now prior to shutting down. Accelerated
Thats too bad, I was tellin Nairi in the 'Car (&4WD) thread', that you gotto watch out for the idiots sharing the roads with us. and btw. a few months ago there was a fine introduced here for driving and talking on mobile phone (hands free is ok). AUS$400 approx US$200. You dont have anything like that?

vava
Sorry to hear of your accident Azat jan. It is things like this that have encouraged me to draw the conclusion: people are idiots. At least it may take her a couple of weeks before she starts talking on her mobile while driving again... Glad you're ok.
hyebruin
Is it just me or are you guys fed up with the way some people get through life??? Just found out yesterday that crime is up in my neighborhood over 40%!!! and that there are numerous break ins into cars...seems like even a late model accord or camry is a thing to envy!! Why are there so many lazy a** losers out there? I work hard to get to where I want to end up! I don't steal things and damage other people's properties or possessions!!! why do some people feel it's ok to live like that? Why must some of us live in 'gated communities' just to get away from "these" people? How about shipping these vultures to Siberia?
Sip
Hey, I refuse to live in a gay-ted community. (sorry, but I have a friend that lives in a gated community and we give him a LOT of shit about that ) But I totally know what you mean. I am affraid to put up a lot of info about my car on my website because of just what you said. It will make it an easy target for anyone (although I have put in a few "surprises" for a would be theif ) ... so now I get about 2 or 3 emails a week asking me how I have done certain things and I keep explaining the same things over and over to people. I have had my cars broken into twice, stolen once (and recovered in bad shape) and I've had several other things stolen. My attitude right now is I won't get too pissed off if it does happen. Cause everytime something was stolen from me, I have found a way to replace it with something better ... Yah, cars, money, objects, valuables, etc can be stolen .... but what gives me the most comfort in life? It's that I doubt anyone can steal the investments I have made in myself too easily Any chance I get, I invest in myself (not talking about buffets but that too ). Accelerated
One thing about investing in oneself....you investment will only last as long as you live and probably much less (forget stuff as you get older). This is all well and good if you dont intend to eventually marry, start a family etc......
Sip
I think I should be ashamed of myself, but I'm not! Went up on the elevator to the engineering library on the 8th floor to return a few books. I knew a whole bunch of people were going to get on and it was going to take forever for the elevator to come back up to that floor. So right before I got out, I pressed the button for the 9th (top) floor (no one goes there!!!). Got out, a whole bunch of people got in assuming the elevator was going to go down as usual. Returned my books and by the time I came back, the elevator had gone up to 9th and come back down to 8th. Got back in with the same crowed that had gotten in the elevator a minute ago with a big smirk on my face ... I couldn't resist ... knowing they had all been a victim of my laziness. Made my way back down to 3rd floor in record time!
Nané
My God !!!!! I can't believe my eyes. We need to roast you again!---This time at the steak!!--- [homer voice]mmmmmmmmmmm steak [/homer voice] Went to the eye-doc today to have my eyes checked ... had been over two years since the last time so figured it was about time. At some point he said "take off your glasses, look over at the wall and read me the chart". I said "what chart?" cause I really didn't see a chart anywhere. Well, needless to say he spent the next few minutes laughing his ass off. But I really couldn't see a chart! Turns out he had left the cover on the projector (it's a prjector thing that projects the chart into a mirror on the wall). That was a big relief to me cause I thought I had gone really blind. But the fun part was this gadget thing he put me on. You are supposed to follow the red dot with one eye closed and push this button every time you see a green dot anywhere. It's awesome and much harder than you would think! Who thought an eye exam could be so much fun

Stormig
I love this nose-wiggling habit of mine. (Can someone love something in themselves?) Sometimes dies down, sometimes resurges. Gives me this mousey appearance. For the last few weeks, my interest in nose-wiggling has revived and I have been wiggling it in harmony with belly-dance music. You can almost see a belly-dancer shaking those hips when you look at my face. That is, if people looking at me don't giggle and I can maintain my composure. A few months ago, I asked some older, fatherly-looking guy on the street for directions. Being told I was headed in the wrong direction, I was disappointed with myself. As if to brush it off, I said, Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, rolled my eyes, and wiggled my nose, like someone would say "Oafffffffffffff!". This other guy was still staring at me, and he burst out loud laughing. I realized what I had done and laughed out loud myself. That was my good deed for the day. :wiggle: :wiggle: Aren't I a goof? Why isn't there a wiggle emoticon? Wiggleticon?
Sip
LMAO Storm I was trying to picture it in my mind but I just can't figure how it would look like!!! My contribution for today: There is something disturbing when you realize that you are stressing a lot more about what you are going to buy and wear to a job interview rather than the hours and hours you will spend being drilled with tons of supposedly "difficult" technical questions and trying to prove your qualifications to a bunch of experts. Sip
quote:Originally posted by Stormy:Wishing you all the best in your upcoming interviews, Sip! Thanks! I have changed my talk around like 14 times already and it's still missing some parts ... I think I now know how if must feel like to be a female shopping for something like furniture. But I did go down from 67 slides to around 30 (so I am still pretty sure of my maleness). Oooops ... did I say all that out loud? Random thought for today (inspired by our VH1 music channel on TV here): I wonder how many people realize that this extremely popular YMCA song by the Village People in the 70s/80s is actually about GAY SEX.
