Azat
Had a rough day at work. Raugh week actually. Today left work at 5:30 today. Stopped at Fish King(local fresh fish store) and got some Halibut fish stakes. Came home. I marinated the Halibut in Herb De Provance, Lemon and Orange Zest, Some Lemon Juice, Olive Oil and salt and pepper. While the fish was marinating, I julienned some red and yellow bell peppers, little bit of cabbage, some onion, a clove of garlic, few green peas, small amount of beat and just stir fried the vegetables all together very lightly in Peanut oil and some soy sauce. About 2 minutes. Then turned on the Grill and put the Halibut on it. Came back in and put some soba noodles on the stove. The minute the Halibut was done I plated the dinner with the soba noodles on the bottom, julianed vegetables on top of that and the fish on top of everything. I should have taken a picture as it looked great, but also tasted incredible. Opened up a bottle of red wine and had dinner. Did I mention that dad is on vacation and sister was going out for the night? Ya I did that just for myself.

Azat
Why did I have to know computers? :( Everyone has a problem guess who they call. Well yesterday I got a call from a cousin who tried to install XP on her old laptop. Well now the display settings can't be fixed. it is down to 640X480 and 16 color and I can't find a stinking driver that will work for this piece of crap. I need to be a janitor or a gardener or something.
Armat
After working a whole week making a stair at my second floor leading to the attic for the purpose of converting the attic to a studio I screwed up. I did not take the run part of the stair as important as the rise part. Run is where you put your foot, rise is the height of the step. Guees how much foot space I had 4 inch .Ok don't lough even my kids had difficulty on stairs. After x $$$ I am starting all over. Growing pains I guess. I guess it is the common law that one has to fk up at least once to get it right.
gevo27
Armat, 4 inches would get you a nice lawsuit someday if anyone fell off of it.. infact, anythign without proper plans and approvel would get you a lawsuit.. careful careful and there are measurments u have to make sure to have.. such as the run of each step should be atleast 7.75 inches.. the rise cant be more than 8.. i have made plenty of these.. its always annoying.. lol good day

Azat
The bad news: Ants are everywhere on our floor. There had to be about a hundred in my coffee cup this morning. BLAH. The good news: Privates will get some more action today again...
Armat
I solved my problem!!!Thanks to medford library! How to book on stairs. On first page it showed a picture of a stepladder note not stairs. My mistake or error was trying to build a stair on steep angle which would never work but it works as a basically permenant ladder. My run is now 6 inch and rise 9 inch.Very comfortable "ladder". That's one bad thing about homes in LA , no cellars and no attics I remember the space we had in our home in Marblehead...I used to climb out the little window of the attic and sit on the roof and observe for hours and hours...ah to be young and stupid again Yes it looks very romantic and inspiring and private and fun...the kids are going to luv it!And maybe the wife will luv you keeping yourself busy up there

Armat
Mosjan you are right I am going to built rails on both sides of the stairs.Last thing I need my five year old slipping out the window from second floor.Believe me I worked all the details... The window is going to get large.I bought incredable windows for five dollars each.Maybe there is God afterall.Check this out I go to home depot to buy windows and a guy just returns two windows in sizes I needed due to mismeasurments.I asked the store manager what he is going to do with these windows? and offered to buy.He said fine five bucks each.I was shocked I thought I misheard five dollars!!!Each! I took them home like a christmas presents. So I had a great day. And Maral and Ani once I finish you'll love it.I got some cool ideas.I am back to work I love building. I am not sure if you have noticed that or not. Azat jan Great observation! I took the old steps down and I am going to increase the rise from 7inch to 9 inch hence it would work as a stepladder. One thing I observed though, the carpanter"s wood glue claims that it is stronger then the wood it glues to.When I took one step down litereally chunk of wood came out with the peice still glued intact.I both screw and glue but I am amazed at this glue.I did not think those claims were true but seeing is believing. Maral
I know nothing about building steps but I've seen some homes where they had a folding ladder to the attic...when you're not using it it just folds up into that space and covers up the entrance to the attic. btw...I am contributing to this discussion only becasue I LOVE SEEING PICS OF HOMES FROM THE EAST COAST...sniff sniff...
