mankun
There are pros and cons. If you look at USA and Western Europe, there are often racial and ethnicity problems. People fight for jobs, women, and culture. Even in China, where all ethnic groups look the same (except for some Muslims in northwestern parts), there are problems of full assimilation. When people are different, it is hard to be as one. I live as a minority in a Western nation. It feels different when you are in a society with people exactly like you. To be truthful, homogenous societies offer more security and a stable sense of identity.
wh00t
AIM July 2001, Page D18, Matthew Karanian claims Armenia is the world's most homogenous country with a 96% Armenian population. While this isn't true (Japan is #1 with 99.4% Japanese), I haven't been able to find any other nation with more than Armenia's 96-97%. Does that make Armenia #2? What are the implications? I know there has been discussion already here, but it's interesting enough for some more. hytga
Armenia isn't homogenus. there are many different nationalities in Armenia. the reason there are more armenians is because Armenia isn't a desireable place to live for others. it isn't even for armenian because of the harsh economic condition.
