Aren't all you conservative bastards just so proud of yourselves? You worked so hard to get rid of Clinton-Gore and where did it get us?-from the frypan into the fire. The Turkish government is at it's pinnacle of power and our interests are going down the tubes fast. The Turks are even talking about burying any mention of the Genocide for good. Keep patting yourselves on the back and have your silly ego-building events and talking about silly things like coffees.

How did the Armenians "get rid of Clinton-Gore"?

If Armenians had all voted for Gore would it have made a difference?

After these words, it was arranged for the subject to be moot. Gore spoke of the Armenian massacres. The talk of "civil war deaths" is again rampant in Turkey. If you are just a loyal citizen who is killed by the government, that is Genocide not civil war. I don't care what they call it as long as their is restitution of the historical place of the Armenians under the Ottomans and their bank accounts and properties.

khodja, where did you get the fact that there are 20,000+ Armenians in Florida? And what makes you think that about 50% of the "Qualified voters" did not already vote democratic.

Also there is a dimes worth of difference between democrats and republicans. They both promises you thinks and hardly ever deliver on their promises when they get elected.

A survey was conducted by the Armenian community of Florida, they came up with approximately 18,000. I know fom experience that this number does not include assimilated Armenians who go to odar churches or have married ouside of the Armenian churches.

Do you know when the economy started to go down? When Clinton left office NASDAQ had already fallen 50%+.

And when my ob evaporates it will not be because Clinton, or Gore or Bush, or Khodja is in office, but because it is a job that is mismanaged, or because there are better ways to do that job, or because it is simple economic cycle.

Plus the man who is most responsible for the WORLD economy is still in office from the days of Bush Sr.

By the way, I have never voted for anyone but democrats all my life in all levels of office, but hate when people accuse politicians of things that are not true.

Its preatty funny, when Australian polititions (election in fortnight) make such vague statements like their US counterparts, they are ridiculled by the media. But in the US people are just happy to hear "We will improve education, we will create more jobs, we will improve health etc..". Nevermind how....

As for Bush/Gore debate, either would be looking after US interests (and Bradley too), get it through your head khodja. Bradley knew that manstream democrats would be voting for Gore, therefore he had to go for the fringe groups with specific promises eg. Armenians.

Azat,

Last year I made a killing in the stock market, this year I have lost a lot. The market began to sink after the Presidential election. Clinton was still President but he was a lame duck. The markets knew what was coming with Bush, Jr. Same as they had with Bush, Sr. Traditionally the economy is stronger under Democrats than Republicans, the exception being Reagan, who spent like a Democrat (even greater than) while he cut taxes like a Republican. But Reagan and Nancy were TOTAL frauds, Catholics who passed themselves off as Protestants, while professing to be for morality while they had a lot of skeletons in their family tree that are unmentionable.

I was raised in a family tied with the ADL, the AGBU and the AAA, but at present my sentiments are more with the ARF, ARS and ANCA. The first mentioned groups are out of touch with the common Armenian, being too wrapped up in Hotel Pierre and Beverly Hills Hilton society affairs.

You are ABSOLUTELY wrong. The market started to sink almost a year prior to Bush taking office. I follow it very closely. Go to a financial site and see when NYSE and NASDAQ hit their highs and where they were on Nov 7(election day) and Jan 20 when Bush was in control.

If you go back to your Econ 101 book you will realize that the markets are very cyclical.

As for my claim that there is not much difference between the Republican party and Democratic party, it is true.

Do you remember the "Contract with America" that brought all the Republicans to the senate? It had some 90 programs that they were going to cancel/close? Do you know how many were canceled? Let me give you a hint, it is less then 1.

And when Clinton got elected how he was going to fix the Medicare and Health Care system in US? Well 9 years later we have a new president who promised to do the same thing and got elected.

If you want to see differences between parties you should compare the Green party to the Libertarian party or something like that, but the D and R are the same.

By the way, statistically you are correct. The markets do better under Democrats vs. Republicans, but the major reason for that is because of the unbelievable moves they made under Clinton

Khodja,

If you read my previous post you will realize that I said that it is true that durring democrat terms the market does do better. But up to 1992, the previous 60-70 years, the difference between each party was something like 1 percent. Clinton years completely changed that stat.

I have this stat somewhere and will find it and post it here, but here is some info from Edward Jones(my brokrage house) on Clinton era(first 7 years)

From January, 1993 when Clinton-Gore took office, until January, 2000 — 7 full years — the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose from 3310.00 to 10,940.50, a total of 230.5%. That's a compounded average annual return of 18.6%. The NASDAQ (OTC) market index — most of the robust, high technology growth companies that are America's future — has done even better, rising from 696.34 to 3940.35, a total of 465.9%; a compounded average annual return of 28.1%.

It is true that Democrats tend to want to spend more than Republicans and that therefore, the economy heats up when spending increases.

But Bush spends like a Democrat. With the war going on, (such as it is), the economy will improve. Wars are inflationary so profits increase during inflationary times.

There are differences between the Democrats and Republicans. Profound differences in economics, domectic spending, taxation as well as foreign policy.

To say that there is't any difference is to display a profound unfamiliarity with the American System.

Hogea is very upset with Armenians for voting Republican. But for many Armenians, the rality that the Soviet Union collapsed because of Republican strategy is real. Armenia is free due to Republican Policy.

The reason that the Armenian foreign policy is not successful in the US is because of the State Department. It is a formidable burocracy. These are the successors of the same agency who decided on a policy of extermination of the plains Indians, thedisconcern withe the plight of the Jews and other minorities in Nazi Germany, in Uganda, Sudan, etc.

Another thing is, that the Jewish Lobby in this country has become so powerful, that some would say that the reigns of our government is in their hands. Now, Israel is a client state, so is Egipt, so is Turkey, etc. That's very expensive. US is not going to take on Armenia as a client State, not when Armenia threw it's lot with Russia.

There have to be winners and loosers, and Armenia is in the looser camp.

If we want to have genuine political power in the United States, we need to have Armenians, and a lot of them, join the civil service and and become entranched at every level where we could, help guide and influence American foreign policy.

All you antisemites, back down, because I'm not against the Jews. They are doing what the system affords them, and we need to learn from them.

Edward, This is only true if you listen to what the politicians tell you. But looking at their actions closely you would realize that the presidents that we have been electing for the last 20+ years are centrists. They pretty much do the same things. All of them since Reagan have promised to fix Social Security, Medicare, improve education... And the budgets have increased on each of the presidents since.
