Rubo
WHO THE HELL IS THIS rubo CHARACHER, AFTER ALL!?! HE RUNS AROUND CALLING PEOPLE NAMES AND PLAYING A JUDGE FOR US. Who am I? The ultimate question, the raving sweet juice of all religions and philosophies, with that statement begins the self-search, the knowledge, and the means to arrive perhaps or never arrive to any conclusive conviction. Those who asked these serious questions upon themselves were at one point self aware that they were mere mortals, dust in the universe, mercy to fallibility hence the quest for answers… Bertrand Russell The value of philosophy is, in fact, to be sought largely in its very uncertainty. The man who has no tincture of philosophy goes through life imprisoned in the prejudices derived from common sense, from the habitual beliefs of his age or his nation, and from convictions which have grown up in his mind without the co-operation or consent of his deliberate reason. To such a man the world tends to become definite, finite, obvious; common objects rouse no questions, and unfamiliar possibilities are contemptuously rejected. As soon as we begin to philosophize, on the contrary, we find... that even the most everyday things lead to problems to which only very incomplete answers can be given. Philosophy, though unable to tell us with certainty what is the true answer to the doubts it raises, is able to suggest many possibilities which enlarge our thoughts and free them from the tyranny of custom. Thus, while diminishing our feeling of certainty as to what things are, it greatly increases our knowledge as to what they may be; it removes the somewhat arrogant dogmatism of those who have never traveled into the region of liberating doubt, and it keeps alive our sense of wonder by showing familiar things in an unfamiliar aspect. I second with you MJ. Unity must come with sharing the same values that will lead us to build a future. Perhaps Mr. Eduard would explain what he would do to those Armenians who do not share your specific brand of values.Would you beat them up?Would you smash their computers and trash their work place?Would you kill them?Would you not rest until you are satisfied with your thirst for revenge?Would you take a disagreement as life time habit forming contempt for offenders? -e-
no rubo, i truly think that you need to see a doctor. to look for a black cat in a dark room may be your way of solving problems, but when i ask a question, i expect an answer before i am challenged with another group of childish questions. -e-
i have yet to follow your footsteps and find the answer in my dream. in a mean time, come down from the 7th heaven, and learn that people use logic in communicating with each other. Rubo
Since you like logical communication Eduard could you find and prove this forum that MJ said this!! I second with you MJ. Unity must come with sharing the same values that will lead us to build a future. Give me a sentence, anything!!!
-e-
first of all, i don't need to prove anyting to this forum. the talk is between you and I-and for some reason, you keep catting corners and changing the subject. for the sake of making you happy, here is the answer to your question "...I would like to restate that unity doesn't just happen. It happens around some "cause" or an overwhelming ides..." "To me(...), the only unity that can be established is around the aspirations for the future of the Republic of Armenia." do you know now what logic means? the man was talks about "the cause" and "aspiration for the future". cause is defined in a dictionary as an aim, purpose, reason, objective, object, motivation, principle... Rubo
Eduard Causes and overwhelming ideas are transitory concepts. What is today’s cause is tomorrow’s passé same with ideas. You cannot establish a national unity based on shifting sand. I already explained that, only through democratic process we can unite but the unity itself is the process of democracy.Read the Nairi's post on the political reality now in Armenia and you will understand why democracy is the most important unity. -e-
rubo, you are doing it again. you keep changing the subject. "transitory concepts" got noting to do with the people uniting and building a future. from time to time the priorities might change, but never the desire of being united around a cause. why don't you now admit that you been proven wrong and why don't stop playing cut and mouse, huh?
-e-
and one more thing for you. don't you see now that you are already contradicting yourself. first you claim "what is today's cause is tomorrow's passe" then you speak of a democracy. for the God's sake, look in the dictionary and learn how democracy is defined. when people are united around a cause, that is itself a democracy. Rubo
I got to do this more elementary level.Could you please give me an example of a cause that could potentially unite us now or next fifthy years.
Sip
I don't think any side has proven anything! At least not in any sense of the word "prove". It's mostly opinion up there as far as I can see ... quote:by Eduard:Unity must come with sharing the same values that will lead us to build a future.I actually agree with Rubo on this one. That statement sounds very cool but I don't think has much practical value. Values, goals, visions of future ... all those are different from person to person and they vary over time. It would be great if we could all "share" the same values and outlooks and work together hand in hand to build a wonderful future. In some fantastic utopia, that may work! But in reality ... it's going to come down to the dirty democratic process, politicians, lobies, corporations making donations to push their cause ... and the individual vote. I think any "system" which ignores basic human needs for self-fulfilment and selfish gains and only bases it's existence on the "sharing (anything)" and "future vision" of a group is doom to fail from the start! -e-
rubo, are you truly that (...)??? well, you sound just like a child who belives that he can reach to the sky if only he could fly. when you are told that we can be united, just take a time to think about it instad of posting one nonsense after another. armenians can be united to build a "strong country" and "a great future" today we might unite to build a "much better" educational system(not that we have a weak one...) tomorrow the priorities might change and we all can be united to build a strong economy do you see now that the priorities might change but never the desire of being united around the same couase...which in this case would be to have a strong country. Rubo
Eduard, let me illustrate with this simple analogy. Don’t feel offended. Simplicity is the beauty.Let's imagine the car as the democratic process and the passengers are the causes and ideas. The passengers do change periodically but the vehicle remains the same. Now you got to maintain the car hence we establish check and balance system. Sip I agree with you fully

MJ
Dear Sip, I have to say that I appreciate your motivations and value your peacefulness. However, unfortunately, either you have not read my original material carefully, or the above mentioned values and mentality and the affiliation are foreign to you, which is regrettable, given the positiveness of your personality However, my current posting is not about you. Just would like to invite the attention of the forum to the first material of this thread, and then to the rest of the developments. Then..., as I said, "This clock cannot be fixed..." -e-
rubo, don't be offended, but you are reapeating the same statements that i made. i told you, you better admit that you were wrong. i kept saying the same thing over and over...the priorities(the passengers) might chage, but the cause(the car) could be the same. the cause(the car) is there to provide a service. a service for a common cause. the passengers(the priorities) might change, but not the cause. Rubo
"strong country" a great future" "much better" educational system If we do not establish strong democratic values then these slogans will remain as cultural clichés without any value collecting dust on some corrupt president’s cousin elected educational minister or cousin uncle Moso as defense minister or second cousin edo as propaganda minister and the meanwhile ordinary people would wait for the slogans to bare fruit. I cannot be more explicit.
-e-
here we go again, when rubo fails to prove his point, he starts to get personal and insult people. he started from a single question about where I see MJ mentioning about the same cause and the future, and take a look where he is now. LOL
