khodja
TARC's Turkish members have requested that a previously agreed to decision of their body that an independent appraisal of the Armenian massacres be undertaken to determine if the 1948 Genocide Convention applies. Their action clearly shows that they feel that the result would not be in their favor. Their actions should be actively disseminated in the international press. Obviously, they do not feel that an independent body would find in their favor. They have "egg" on their faces! So the Turkey is really "chicken." wh00t
Unfortunately, Armenian organizations know nothing of active dissemination of such important information; an art that the Turks, on the other hand, have mastered. Had the tables been turned on this issue (ie. Armenians refused the study), the story would be on the cover page of Hurriyet, Milliyet, all other -yets, and it would be Turkey's top "anti-Genocide recognition" weapon for years to come. The Armenian press is laughably ineffective at spreading their propoganda, especially when compared to our neighbors to the West. I remember a few months ago when two Kurds yelled in protest for a few seconds during the speech of a top Turkish official. The Turks squeezed every last drop of juice of out that incident, using it for a good two weeks of anti-Kurdish sentiment. A few seconds of verbal protest! This is a very big victory for Armenians but who's our international messenger?
