art Posted April 27, 2001 Report Share Posted April 27, 2001 PACE: Recognition of the genocide perpetrated against the Azeripopulation by the Armenians Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) Doc. 9066 26 April 2001 Written Declaration No. 324 This written declaration commits only the members who have signed it Genocide became an integral part of the Azeri history starting fromthe partition of the Azeri lands with the treaties of Gulustan in 1813and Turkmenchay in 1828. The Armenians carried out massacres against the Azeris in 1905-1907 inorder to achieve "the Greater Armenia". In March 1918 the Armenians purged the Azeris from Baku, Shamakhy,Guba, Garabakh, Zangezur, Nakhchivan, Lankaran and other regions ofAzerbaijan. With the help of the Soviet regime, Armenia annexed Zangezur and otherAzeri lands in 1920. The Communist regime deported the Azeri population from theirhistorical lands in Armenia to Azerbaijan from 1948-1953. >From the beginning of the Nagorno-Artsax conflict in 1988 hundredsof thousands of Azeris were deported from their historical lands. On 26 February 1992, Armenians massacred the whole population ofKhodjaly and fully destroyed the city. Armenian separatism in Nagorno-Artsax and the ongoing Armenianoccupation of 20 per cent of the Azeri territory has resulted inthousands of deaths and more than a million refugees. The undersigned, members of the Assembly, appeal to all the members ofthe Parliamentary Assembly to take the necessary steps to recognisethe genocide perpetrated by the Armenians against the Azeri populationfrom the beginning of the 19th Century. Mr. Unal Lutfi (his nickname in Bulgaria is ANAL LUTFI) is a vice-chairman of the “Movement for rights and freedoms”(how ironic). Political party which represents the Turks in Bulgaria and as such is against the law, since Bulgarian constitution doesn’t allow establishment of political parties based on ethnic or racial principles. Thanks to the efforts of the West turks have been allowed to have their own party and respectively, certain sits in the Parliament.The representative of Macedonia is actually representative of the Albanian minority (which unfortunately soon can become majority).My commentary about the Brits that signed this “document” is … no one is perfect!The rest are not a surprise.
