Arpa Posted September 8, 2009 Report Share Posted September 8, 2009 Silk Road or Sick Road? http://www.panorama.am/en/politics/2009/09/08/relationship/ 13:40 08/09/2009 BAKU-YEREVAN-ISTANBUL: “PEACE ROAD” Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s suggestion of “Peace road” project bridging Caucasus to Europe which has been addressed to the European Union Ministers, regarding the normalization of Turkish-Armenian ties, is currently taken by the Turkish Parliament, Turkish “Sabah” reports. It is said that the first step has been taken for a road to link Europe to the Caucasus. Member countries to the Black Sea Economic Cooperation have signed the project, which was proposed by Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu. The 7,000-kilometer road will pass through 12 countries and link Istanbul to Yerevan and Yerevan to Baku. It’s worth reminding that the current project has been signed by 12 states of “Black Sea Economic Cooperation” organization while Turkish Abdullah Gul was the Foreign Minister of the country. Later the Foreign Relations Committee of the Turkish Parliament has adopted the project but currently it is important that the General Assembly ratifies the project.
