Armenians and our suicidal love affaire with the left

Eire

Recommended Posts

Before being elected, Bill Clinton promised to recognise the Armenian Genocide, it never happened. Before being elected, George W Bush promised to recognise the Armenian Genocide, it never happened. Before being elected, Barrak Hussein obama promised to recognise the Armenian Genocide, it never happened. The only difference is... we actually believed him.

Our culture and traditions are very conservative, and yet we cant seem to get away from the left. from tashnagtsoutioun, to hnchagstoutioun, to communism, to voting liberal or democrat wherever we settle. When the hell are we going to understand that the socialism does not work? it destroys our values, our traditions, our culture and our faith.

Socialism is an evil creed, one designed to grasp power and never let it go. As armenians we have always been swayed by these warring left-wing factions, all promising a new and free Armenia, all we did was exchange one brutal overlord for another. When will we learn?

We need a new, strong, right-wing party. We need to reinstate the pride in our blood.

My dream would be a new Armenia. We need to completely re-organise the military, no more of this soviet style crap. We need a new professional Army, and then use conscription, but the core has to stay military by profession. Our units should be organised in a western fashion, each unit should be named after an armenian hero, or pagan god or anything that brings back vision of glory and pride to our soldiers, thus boosting morale and reminding the men that they are taking part in something that will be echoed throughout history.

Our government needs to be right-wing, but still remember the people. No more welfare state. We bring back the pride of a hard day's work to the Armenian labourer, we give him the sense of accomplishment that he deserves. We need policies that encourage free enterprise and crack down on corruption. We destroy the workers unions and remove their coercive power. We teach mandatory history lessons, we remind the Armenian youth of their ancestry and how important it is to be armenian. We remind them of the importance of the blood that flows through their veins. Mandatory phys ed classes, to keep them in shape, mandatory debate, politics, and current events classes, to teach our children to think on their feet. We must rebuild our roads, our monuments and our attractions to awaken foreign investment in our nation.

just a few ideas for a new strong Armenia.

what do you think?

How about having our government to be "FAIR" wing instead of right or left, instead of red or blue. How about "Tsiran" wing?

How about no "wings" at all just do the right thing?

I think my friend you too have an agenda just like the rest, I guess your first post was a bait.

but cant you see that we cant afford to be on no side? Our nation is lost to apathy and the red is to blame.

doing the right thing is a priority and only someone who truly loves his nation above himself can do the right thing.

I dont believe in capitalism or soclialism. The third way is on the rise all over europe, its time for Armenia to rise as well.

Good topic!

You would think Armenians (especially those from the former USSR) have had enough socialism to not vote for it after coming to America.

Afterall, what's the point of immigrating to the US if you are choosing socialism (or the left whatever it may be)?

But the Armenian masses are just as naive as the rest of the masses!

How many times have you heard "I'm voting for Obama because he will recognize the genocide and he is good for Armenia". LOL (It's so sad, it's funny).

Can anyone please enlighten me as to why anyone would leave the former USSR, come to America, and vote for the most socialist candidate here?

Is it because he "will recognize the genocide" and then "we will get our lands back". LOL

Dear Eire, you have been freely using terms like "socialis"m"and "leftist", can you please define them?

Dashnaks officially known as ARF-ՀՅԴ, despite the prevailing impression, due to their opposition to communist (I.e. non-independent)Armenia all those years leave the impression that they are anti-communist, anti-socialism while their constitution is SOCIALIST.

Look at the Hnchak party and notice their official name.

Սոցիալ Դեմոկրատ Հնչակեան ... Social Democrat...

As to the Ramkavars, once again look at the official name of their faction- Ramkavar Azatakan- ADL- Armenian Democratic Liberal, read “democratic” as socialist.

Which of the above is left and which right?

I mean, which is “right” and which ” wrong” ? :goof:

Arpa Jan

That is precisely the point I am trying to make.

Socialists, communists, democrats, progressists.

Crap with any other name would still smell as bad.

they all fight each other when they are basically the same thing. They kill each other for power, not freedom!

all these old parties, ALL OF THEM, must die. We have to start fresh, no more of this old leftist way of thinking, that corrupts our spirit and our values.

I think what you propose is a kind of clownish National Socialist Armenia. It is just naive. The talk of a "new" Armenia is the usual nonsense one hears from populist politicians. We need reform and that takes time.

Dear Boghos

I do not desire genocide on anyone.

I am no follower of Hitler

and I would die before being a socialist.

The Key word is National.

A new Nationalist nation, one more along the lines of European right-wing conservatism.

The reform you speak of is one based on left-wing genocidal multiculturalist brainwashing and I would have none of it for my people.

Europe is losing the battle for its own existence due to the influx of non-European immigrants.

Yervant Jan

We cannot deny the fact that Armenians seem to have lost our connection with our Aryan ancestors that have shaped the culture and nation we now love.

We talk of ethnicity... why not take it one step further?

Dziran Jan

Im not quite sure if your comment was sarcastic or not.

I am your typical Armenian who left the former USSR and came to US and continue to vote for the left not because I believe in the socialist agenda or thought Obama or Clinton or Kerry was going to recognize the genocide but because of what I have seen the concervatives have done to this country including your idols Reagen and Bush jr.

I dont have a conservative bone in my body. I dont care about the ideals of the conservative(read evangelical Christian) movement. For all I care they can all die and goto the heaven or hell or wherever the F they want to go to.

As for Armenia... its none of your effing business(nor mine) how they run the country. When you or I or anyone gets off their asses and moves back than we have the right to criticize. But until that time we have no say

WOW!!

Azat, you amaze me. What did you have for breakfast this morning? Khash? :P How much garlic and piper did you use? :D

Azat for president of Armenia or America, or both!!

You shock me, just as you seem to have "stolen" my words.

99.9 % of us would prefecty fit the characters of Kaj Nazar, Don Quixote and Panjouni.

When Qaj Nazar killed a fly, one fly we sing his praises- "Änhaght heros qajn Nazar, or mek zarkov jardeh hazar".

One wonders what he would have done if that fly was super-horse fly!!

Dear Azat.

You seem to be utterly confused. You vote for a party you dont believe in just to spite one you dont like.

I will not take the time to point out every single fault the left has in the United States, but I would suggest you read the books "The constitution of liberty" and "the fatal conceit: the errors of socialism" by Friederich Hayek.

Bush was no conservative, he was a born again lunatic.

As for Reagan, he was a very fine man. As an Armenian, Id like to point out that hes the only president to have referred to the events of 1915 as genocide, and not as a tragedy, misfortune or wtv.

As Armenians, our general values are conservative. Our culture is a conservative one. You probably dont have a single conservative bone in your body, but it flows heavily in your blood. And who are you if you arnt true to your blood?

Your comment about Armenia I find rather ridiculous. To begin with, Armenia relys heavily on diasporan investment, I believe that gives us as much right as them to have a say in what goes on in OUR country. All you are doing here is creating division. If you want to throw your identity behind then go for it. To me all this talk of souryahye, bolsahye molsahye is garbage. All these countries we settle in are just bus stop nations on the way HOME. Its not the bus stop you have to remember, its the number of the bus (= HYE)

Il leave you with that

Iv seen the garbage posted on this site.

Embracing muslims and jews as Armenian? clapping at more left-wing promises that were never kept.

Some of the people that post here would gladly sell their own people.

just what pride are you referring to here?

so how is supporting universal health care, supporting higher taxes in AMERICA, supporting religion-less state, supporting minority rights, etc etc equate selling our own people, ARMENIANS?

I have read The Constitution of Liberty some time back. You are too naive to understand why i vote democratic. There is not conservative blood flowing thru my veins there is compassionate blood flowing thru them...

You may think that it is diaspora supporting Armenia but you could not be more wrong. These days Diaspora is a small part. they dont have to keep kissing our asses for ages because diaspora stood by Armenia in its weakest days. they already thanked us and invited us to visit and stay.

as for Reagen being a fine guy im glad you like him. because for the next 30-40 years you will continue to pay taxes for his and Bushes mistakes. Enjoy
