Nané Posted June 25, 2009 Report Share Posted June 25, 2009 Michael Jackson dead at 50 (CNN) -- Entertainer Michael Jackson has died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday after suffering cardiac arrest, CNN has confirmed. Jackson, 50, had been in a coma at the hospital, sources told CNN. Brian Oxman, a Jackson family attorney, said he was told by brother Randy Jackson that Michael Jackson collapsed at his home in west Los Angeles, California, Thursday morning. Family members were told of the situation and were either at the hospital or en route, Oxman said. "I can only tell you that the family members are crying and I just have not been able to confirm anything, other than to hug them and tell them that I love them," Oxman said. Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN a 911 call came in from a west Los Angeles residence at 12:21 p.m. Ruda said Jackson was treated and transferred to the UCLA Medical Center. Asked specifics of the patient's condition, he said he could not discuss them because of federal privacy laws. The music icon from Gary, Indiana, is known as the "King of Pop." Jackson had many No. 1 hits and his "Thriller" is the best-selling album of all time. Jackson "as big as it gets" » Jackson is the seventh of nine children in a well-known musical family. He has three children, Prince Michael I, Paris and Prince Michael II. At the medical center, every entrance to the emergency room was blocked by security guards. Even hospital staffers were not permitted to enter. A few people stood inside the waiting area, some of them crying. A large crowd was also gathering outside the hospital, according to video footage. Outside Jackson's Bel Air home, police arrived on motorcycles. The road in front of the home was closed in an attempt to hold traffic back, but several people were gathered outside the home. That means we teach students how to perform on an instrument. Playing a musical instrument is a physical act. A student needs to know proper posture as regards to sitting and holding the instrument. Yet, it turns out, in the future every time I need to show something to my student I'll need to ask if I may touch him! My professor, who's been teaching for decades both in public schools and universities says that he's been investigated by the police several times. One time he was passionately giving directions to the band to play louder, and as the band was playing he increasingly began raising his voice, saying "louder" (as musicians usually do to make a point). The next day he was called into the principal's office because one of the students had accused him of abuse. In this day and age Michael Jackson was very naive to open his ranch and invite over children. He didn't realize how a lot of people would take advantage of him. I always thought he was innocent. I am sure it will come out eventually. But, this is the problem - he was not exactly touching children in the process of teaching. He was sharing his bed with them. Strange no? He stated: "Why can't you share your bed? The most loving thing to do, is to share your bed with someone." Some on a lesser scale. Michael must've been on the weirdest side. But in that case I would blame the kids' parents for agreeing their kids to spend the night with Michael Jackson. Never in a million years would I leave my children unsupervised with Michael, let alone spend the night with him. That's why I say he was very naive and got taken advantage of. Z'areh Posted June 26, 2009 Report Share Posted June 26, 2009 I am not a fan of Michael Jackson but fully recognize his talent and contribution in "humanizing" music, it was not just black Motown music anymore it was music for all, colourless and raceless. He was two weeks older than me and I grew up listening to little Michael in Jackson Five, which I still prefer over his later productions. I agree with Anoushik about his weirdness and being out of touch with reality. His business savvy is questionable in regards to his wealth which says something about his inability to manage his affairs. He was totally broke. I heard something today which fits his persona: he refused to grow up. I think his life can be summarized in one word: sad. It is too bad because he was young and talented enough to produce more wonderful music for generations to come. In many ways his passing is a fitting end to such a wonderful, weird, eccentric, beautiful and ugly life. He went out in a supernova, I think its ripples will keep resonating around the globe for a long time. That says something about one individual. . I couldn't stand anything about him. He was great long long ago ... but to me, he had been dead for a looooooong time. I am glad he is out of his misery. Not to say that child at hearth people do not have a collection of porno magazine. (but I admit it might have been to show off, like young boys do etc.) He was a guy who grew in an unhealthy environment, a sad story. I just felt strange when I heard his death, but I guess that's what you feal when a celebrity you have heard so much dies. I guess he remained eternily young, as he will never grow as old to consider himself old. It was probably the death which would have satisfied him most. He was stuck in an eternal purgatory, at once the "king of pop" and simultaneously the victim of his own genius. That kind of life would drive anyone a little batty - I really felt bad for him.
