CSI Asks Believers To Pray For Their Armenian Brothers And Sisters

Christian Solidarity International, a human rights NGO campaigning for religious freedom and human dignity, is asking for prayer for Christian Armenians now under attack by Turkish-Azerbaijani forces. The attacks have been especially targeted at Nagorno-Karabakh, a tiny region in the Caucuses inhabited by 150,000 Christian Armenians. CSI’s International President, Dr. John Eibner, labeled the assault “a renewed attempt to destroy one of the world’s oldest Christian communities,” which “risks setting off a new regional war.”

Though the Trump Administration brokered a cease fire early last week, it quickly fell apart within hours. In an open letter to President Trump, Eibner urged America to take three steps in concert with Russia and France: 1) to “suspend all lethal and non-lethal military aid to all three elements of the anti-Armenian military coalition” – Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Syrian jihadists; 2) to “provide security guarantees for the existentially threatened people of the region,” and 3) to “produce a plan of economic support and development for Nagorno Karabakh,” “modelled on the program implemented by your administration in Iraq for Christians and other minority communities victimized by the Islamic State.”

Azerbaijan launched a major attack on Nagorno Karabakh on September 27 with Islamist Turkey providing crucial support for the offensive, including bringing thousands of jihadists from the battlefield in Syria to fight against the Christians. Thousands of Armenians and Azerbaijanis have been displaced by the fighting, and reports of civilian casualties are on the rise. American celebrities such as Kanye West and wife Kim Kardashian brought attention to the attack via Twitter with Kardashian stating that “the news is misleading and these are not clashes.”

According to a report on Military.com, the Armenian Defense Ministry acknowledged a few days ago that Azerbaijani forces took control of the town of Gubadli near Nagorno-Karabakh’s southern edge and acknowledged that Azerbaijani forces made other advances. Turkey has cast strong support behind Azerbaijan, saying it will support them “on the battlefield or the negotiating table.” Turkey has trained the Azerbaijani military and provided it with strike drones and long-range rocket systems that has given Azerbaijan an advantage.

Military.com reports that Turkey is directly involved in the conflict and is sending Syrian mercenaries to fight on Azerbaijan’s side. Turkey has denied deploying combatants to the region, but a Syrian war monitor and Syria-based opposition activists have confirmed that Turkey has sent hundreds of Syrian opposition fighters to fight in Nagorno-Karabakh.

“This genocide of Armenians in installments must now come to an end,”

Eibner said.

International community has missed out on Turkey’s aggressive aspirations, Armenian President says

The international community is not responding decisively enough to the outbreak of war in Nagorno Karabakh, Armenian president Armen Sarkissian said in an interview with Swedish Sveriges Radio AB.

According to him, the world leaders underestimate Turkey’s role in the conflict.

“Had Turkey not been involved, the military actions would have ended after two or three weeks,” the President said.

“The problem here is the Turkish equipment, the modern Turkish UVs, the technology, the F-16 fighters, the trained soldiers, the instructors, the officers, the generals who, in fact, lead the operations,” Armen Srkissian noted.

“We all know that Turkey has one of the largest armies in the world, it is one of the most aggressive armies in the world. They are in a constant war in Iraq, in Syria, and now here. I would like the international community to act faster, to put real pressure on Turkey, because that country is a source of instability. It is Turkey that does not allow Azerbaijan to agree to a ceasefire, Turkey wants to continue the conflict, because the longer it lasts, the deeper it will establish itself in Azerbaijan,” he added.

The President noted that Turkey’s involvement in the conflict is a sensitive issue for Armenia and Armenians, for whom the memories of the Armenian Genocide in the Ottoman Empire more than a hundred years ago are still alive. At the same time, the President tressed that with its current leadership, Turkey is trying to spread its influence militarily, this time in the South Caucasus

“The international community has missed out on Turkey’s very aggressive aspirations over the past decade. The international community has failed by allowing Turkey to behave as it does today. They were not stopped in Syria, Iraq, and now in northern Lebanon. They were not stopped in the east of the Mediterranean, they were not stopped when they violated the territorial integrity of Cyprus, occupying half of it. They have violated the territorial integrity of Iraq and Syria, and now they have come to talk about the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. This is what the international community ignores and does not want to notice,” President Sarkissian said.

“How can you have a NATO member state that exhibits such behavior? How can you negotiate with a country that declares its desire to join the EU, but its actions completely contradict all European values?” Armen Sarkissian added.

Cardinal Dolan: Armenians Are Not Alone

Cardinal Dolan assured Armenians in the United States and overseas that they’re not alone during his remarks at “An Ecumenical Service for Peace and Justice in Armenia, Artsakh and the World” at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral in Manhattan Oct. 21.

Armenia, a predominantly Christian nation, has been under attack from Azerbaijan since late September. The former Soviet republics are fighting over disputed territory. Ceasefires have failed.

“We here at St. Vartan’s this evening want and will help,” Cardinal Dolan said. “You are not alone. Your face and lamentation are tattooed on our hearts because we are people whose love is not limited by a border, whose hope is never drowned out by drones, whose faith is bolstered by God’s holy word from Isaiah this evening. ‘Fear not, for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will help you.’”

Cardinal Dolan, the first of three speakers, was followed by Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Church and Bishop David of the Coptic Orthodox Church.

“Resignation and Despair Stoke Armenian Conflict, so reports the headline from the newspaper just three days ago,” said Cardinal Dolan in opening his talk. “Resignation and despair, well not here, not here at St. Vartan’s Cathedral this evening. Resignation to invasion, violence, weapons, destruction and war, never.

“Despair over what the same press report tells us is stench and brutality and drones and part of a lengthy and punishing war. Understandable maybe but never, never despair, not for those of us gathered here in faith, solidarity and suffocation at your gracious invitation, Bishop Daniel (Findikyan, primate of the Eastern Diocese Armenian Church of America).”

Cardinal Dolan closed his talk by saying bombs, bullets, bullying and brutality “only produce more of the same.”

“The shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, the sword of the spirit, that’s our artillery, that’s our strategy,” said Cardinal Dolan in reflecting on the evening’s reading from St. Paul. “All the world might snicker, but Jesus whispers to us this evening, ‘take courage, I conquer the world.’”

The service began with an opening prayer, The Lord’s Prayer and a welcome from Bishop Findikyan.

“I greet you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” he said. “These arches, like arms, have embraced countless, faithful clergy from sister churches, men and women of faith for many decades in times of joy and in times of sorrow and times of fear. This evening we gather together in times of sorrow and fear for turmoil that’s surrounding us in so many parts of the world and in our own country as well. In particular, we are frightened for our homeland of Armenia and Artsakh where a senseless war is proceeding, which is bringing pain and anguish to many many people and causes great danger to the rest of the world.

“At times like this, we come together, heart to heart, as brother and sister Christians, to renew and restore our faith in the only one who can bring true justice and true peace to our lives and our world.”

The readings were from Isaiah and a Letter of Paul to the Ephesians. A Gospel from St. John followed before Cardinal Dolan spoke.

Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of the Diocese of Brooklyn offered a prayer later in the service.

A candlelight vigil was held the next night for Armenia and Artsakh on the plaza of St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral Complex.

“We believe in what the prophet Joel says. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be safe,” Bishop Findikyan said.

Towns of Martuni and Shushi under heavy bombardment

STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The towns of Martuni and Shushi in Artsakh have come under intense Azerbaijani shelling, with Martuni being hit by heavy artillery and Shushi shelled with the most various types of munitions, the Artsakh State Service of Emergency Situations said.

The situation in the peaceful settlements was “relatively calm” after midnight, but the Azeri forces resumed attacking the towns and cities at dawn, targeting the civilian population and the civilian infrastructure.

Reports on casualties are being clarified.

STEPANAKERT, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The Azerbaijani armed forces launched renewed attacks at Artsakh in the eastern, south-eastern and southern directions overnight November 4-5, the Armenian Defense Ministry official Lt. Colonel Artsrun Hovhannisyan said. He said the situation was “relatively stable - tense” in all directions but the Azeri attacks were especially active in the abovementioned directions.

“Multiple attacks by the Azeri assault teams were successfully thwarted by the Defense Army units. The [Azerbaijani] forces suffered heavy personnel and materiel losses,” Lt. Colonel Hovhannisyan said.

Two Azeri assault teams also attempted an attack from the northern part, but the raid was detected and neutralized in time by the Defense Army, he said.

Residential areas are again under Azeri bombardment.

“Right now the [Azerbaijani] forces continue attack attempts in the abovementioned directions. The tactical situation in the entire frontline is under the control of the Defense Army,” Lt. Colonel Hovhannisyan said.

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. Artsakh being a part of Azerbaijan means Artsakh without Armenians. Artsakh has no future as part of Azerbaijan, Foreign Minister of Armenia Zohrab Mnatsakanyan said during the debate of the 2021 state budget draft at the joint session of the parliamentary standing committees.

“Today’s realities, today’s situation further highlight a simple priority: Artsakh has not had and doesn’t have any future as part of Azerbaijan. Such situation means Artsakh without Armenians. That will not happen. It is further highlighted goal”, the minister said.

He stated that not only Armenia’s foreign policy, but the national resource are directed to that with all means. “I don’t think there is any Armenian who can agree with the idea that our 150,000 compatriots in Karabakh, who today are the defenders of our identity, can be endangered”, the FM said, adding that working together is highly important.

Australian Institute for Holocaust sees increasing risk of genocide in Azerbaijani actions

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The Australian Institute for Holocaust and Genocide Studies (AIHGS) holds grave concerns about the conflict in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), in particular, an increasing risk of genocide against the indigenous Armenian population.

In a statement AIHGS urged the Australian Government to take immediate action to prevent further atrocities and war crimes against a people who have already endured genocide and never seen justice.

“Since 27 September 2020, Azerbaijan, supported by Turkey, has launched aggressive attacks against the region of Artsakh, including attacks targeting Armenian civilians. War crimes and crimes against humanity have characterized Azerbaijan’s actions to date, with the use of long range missiles, drone strikes and cluster bombs, which are banned under international law.

These attacks have killed civilians, and destroyed homes in the capital Stepanakert, as well as hospitals, schools and cultural-religious sites such as the Holy Saviour (Ghazanchetsots) Cathedral in Shushi. International humanitarian law prevents the targeting of civilian infrastructure and religious or historical sites. More than 70,000 people have been displaced from the Republic of Artsakh; thousands more are taking refuge in underground basements.

Turkey, which continues to deny the Armenian genocide perpetrated by its Ottoman predecessors a century ago, continues to provide material support to Azerbaijan in the form of weapons and foreign mercenaries from Syria. Hate speech and dehumanisation are important indicators of imminent genocide. Within the context of armed conflict, and evidence of Azerbaijan’s war crimes, crimes against humanity and a stated intention of ethnic cleansing, and combined with denial and impunity for past genocides against the Armenians, AIHGS asserts that there is a strong potential for genocide in Artsakh, should Azerbaijani forces push back the Armenian defense and take control of the area.

AIHGS appeals to the Australian Government to take every necessary step to encourage a ceasefire and ensure the protection of civilians from war crimes, crimes against humanity, ethnic cleansing, and genocide. AIHGS calls on the Australian Government to:

• Acknowledge the atrocities and war crimes being committed by Azerbaijan and use all diplomatic means to pressure Azerbaijan to meet its obligations under international humanitarian law
• Condemn hate speech, genocidal intent and genocide denial by Azerbaijan and Turkey
• Support all necessary international efforts as a matter of urgency to monitor the situation and prevent attacks by Azerbaijan against Armenian civilians, including internationally brokered ceasefires
• Use all means at its disposal to encourage those nations supporting Azerbaijan with weapons and other material support to cease immediately
• Condemn the use of foreign mercenaries
• Take action to hold Azerbaijan and Turkey accountable for atrocities and war crimes.
• Provide humanitarian aid to the people of Artsakh”, the statement says.

In full combat gear, President of Artsakh visits Shushi, vows “all possible efforts” to defend town

SHUSHI, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. President of Artsakh Arayik Harutyunyan visited the troops in the town of Shushi on November 5, and discussed the strategy of fighting off the heavy attacks by Azerbaijani forces.

“The defensive fortifications created jointly by our professional soldiers and volunteer troops and the decisiveness of our men give us hope that all possible efforts are made for keeping [shushi] invincible,” the Artsakh President said.

“With its spiritual and cultural values and traditions, Shushi is our greatest legacy which we inherited from our ancestors, and we must pass it on to our generations with the same Armenian spirit."

President Harutyunyan expressed special gratitude to Colonel-General Seyran Ohanyan, whom he called “a devoted son of the Armenian nation”. In photos released by the presidency, Ohanyan is seen briefing the president on the defensive operations. The Armenian Deputy PM Tigran Avinyan is also with the Artsakh president.

Armenia’s foreign ministry is in constant touch with the EU partners over the matters relating to the recognition of the independence of Artsakh, the right of the Artsakh people to self-determination, Deputy Foreign Minister Avet Adonts said during the joint session of the parliamentary standing committees on November 5.

“We are in daily touch with our European partners and are working in several directions, starting from the recognition of the independence of Artsakh or the Artsakh people’s right to self-determination. The remaining points relate to sanctions and the humanitarian aid which must be very targeted and concerns our displaced compatriots whose number is quite high”, he said.

The deputy FM said these days there are many European cities that recognize the independence of Artskah, which, according to him, is a very important step for ensuring the future developments in this context.

“The independence of Artsakh is recognized in states at the local self-government level. We consider this a very important step to ensure the future developments. There are preliminary agreements, quite serious discussions for conducting qualitatively higher acts”, the deputy FM added.

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 5, ARMENPRESS. The Azerbaijani military death toll has increased by 135 in one day and reached 7290.

The Armenian Unified Infocenter said the Azeri military also lost an additional 5 UAVs and 26 units of armored equipment.

The total materiel losses of the Azeri side since their attacks on Artsakh began are: 257 UAVs, 16 helicopters, 25 warplanes, 723 armored equipment and 6 TOS launchers.

It’s said that one of the first casualties of war is the truth, but war is also a great killer of complexity. There is nothing else to think but to protect our land and to support our valiant soldiers. My normal process of thought tries to see things from as many angles as possible, but that serves no purpose in the blunt and brutal activity we are presently engaged in. As Prime Minister Pashinyan has said, there is only victory or defeat. And defeat is unthinkable.

Why is it unthinkable? It is unthinkable that we are once again going to lose land that our ancestors have lived in for so long, and this is what I find so remarkable about our nation. We were divided long ago into an Eastern and Western culture, but we identify as one people. What is unthinkable is that our country of Armenia would be flanked by the ghost of Western Armenia on the west, and the possibility of a ghost of Eastern Armenia on the east. This is a nightmare.

Our grandparents were exiled from their towns and villages and it is unthinkable that we will allow a present generation to suffer the same fate. Anyone who has been to Artsakh – as I have – will know the strong-spirit and unique personality of our brothers and sisters there. It pains me tremendously to imagine that a generation born far away from the grueling war of the early nineties will now understand that not only are they themselves the children of war, but now their children will also have this dark stain on their souls.

One of the oddest things about visiting Armenia is how everyone refers to the people of Azerbaijan as ‘Turks’ and I used to believe that this was stretching things. The Karabakh War was against a different people, and I used to think that we liberated this land from the jaws of our Azerbaijani enemy. But now I understand that this really is a war against the Turks.

‘Turks’ not as nation or state, but ‘Turks’ as a concept of people who hate us so inexplicably, and have been allowed to literally hate us to death. What a crazy thought! Here we are, 105 years after the catastrophic genocide of our nation and these people are still determined to banish us off the face of the earth. Seriously, what have we done to them? Did we make a big case about what happened to Nakhchivan after the fall of the Soviet Union? We were prepared to give them that land without a fight, even though we had ancestral roots there. Why isn’t there some modicum of generosity with this land we wish to keep? Is it really that important to them?

No, what has become important is their need to hate us, and this is not a complex emotion. It bears little examination and needs only one clear response. I think William Saroyan said it best. ‘Have no shame in being kindly and gentle, but if the time comes in the time of your life to kill, kill and have no regret.’ This the ugly and awful truth we have arrived at.

Editor’s Note: The below op-ed is an edited version of a speech delivered by the author, Raffi Bandazian, during a solidarity rally for Artsakh that was organized by the St. James Armenian Church in Richmond, Va. on October 31.

The Songs of Artsakh and Armenia.

The songs that we have sung for all these years, the songs we grew up singing about heroes and Fedayis and even the more recent songs about villages that were liberated and heroes that had fallen in battle. . . these are not just verses and choruses to sing at events and raise our glass and toast. The lyrics հողը արիունով են պահում իմացէք “know this: land is kept with blood” is not just a catchy phrase to sing along. It is the real world.

It is what Armenia has lived for decades. And is RELIVING right now.

It is what artilleryman Albert Hambartsumyan has actually done. His iconic photo of him just firing his artillery appeared on sites around world.

They, Armenian soldiers, have given their life for land. Their land. Our land. Our country. Mer hyerenik. Our fatherland.

And this is not some distant land far from the soldiers’ home. Not some war on a concept like terror, a concept manufactured by the military industrial complex of the United States to keep fighting in a country for 19 years that’s 7,000 miles away.

These are battles happening in the Armenian soldiers’ home country of Armenia and Artsakh. The soldiers like Davit Uzunyan, who fell in battle. Davit had just completed two semesters at the American University of Armenia, studying for his Bachelor of Arts in Business. In his spare time, he was an avid footballer who enjoyed participating in tournaments with his team.

Or like Shavarsh Muradyan. A bright student in the English and Communications Program at AUA. Shavarsh had already participated in the 2016 April War in Artsakh. He was injured, awarded medals of honor and had enrolled in AUA. When the Sept. 27 war of 2020 started, he volunteered to go back to the front line.

This is what these young soldiers were doing. Trying to better their Homeland. Improving their knowledge to move their country forward. When it came time for the country to call them, they answered and they paid the ultimate price.

The great hero of the 1992-94 war in Arstakh, Leonid Azkaltyan has reportedly said, “One does not protect land with blood; one protects land with love.” Հողը արիւնով չեն պահում, հողը սիրելով են պահում.

Davit and Shavarsh were doing just that.

Aliyev, the assigned President of Azerbaijan, has said that Armenia overstated their importance in the World.

Mr. Aliyev, you have overestimated the power of your oil profits.

You can buy all the mercenaries, all the equipment, all the drones, all the cluster bombs, all the missiles you want . . . you can even buy the 2019 final game of the UEFA Europa League final, and you can plaster your name on as many soccer jerseys as you’d like. You can buy all the favor of politicians in Europe and the kind words of New York Times reporters: but you will never buy a victory over Armenia.

Because victory in your eyes is misinformed. Your understanding of history, like your Turkish counterparts, is misinformed.

Were there Azeris and Armenians living in the area under dispute in Artsakh in the Caucus? Sure. Even Sayat Nova, the great 17th century Armenian troubadour is known to have sung in Armenian, Azeri, and Georgian – although his best songs are in Armenian. You probably even claim him as your own, Azeri musician, ignoring the fact that he was born Aruthin Sayadian, born in 1712, Tiflis, Georgia.

But you are grasping at a concept of a country that is less than 100 years old. Artsakh is Armenia lands going back to at least the 5th century. . . B.C!

Just yesterday, reports of potential use of white phosphorous over the forests of Arstakh.

This is most likely provided by the so-called elite mountain forces that have been brought in from Turkey, because the Azeri troops could not handle the dense fighting in the forests of Artsakh. And of course, Turkey would not care that the use of white phosphorous to start forest fires in the mountains is yet another example of war crimes.

And Mr. Aliyev: I have a question for you. If Nagorno Karabakh, Artsakh, is, in fact, as you say Azerbaijan and always has been, why then are you bombing, your own cities? Why are you bombing the civilian population of what you claim is your land? Why have you destroyed 11,600 private properties? 1,600 private vehicles? 2,100 infrastructure public, and industrial structures? Why have you killed 39 civilians (as of Oct 26)? Bombed the electric, gas, and water infrastructure? Burning the village of Aknaghbyur as you pillage? Do you plan on going back in with some type of infrastructure project to rebuild this great nation that you have just demolished?

Is the plan to bring in Haliburton and manage the reconstruction? They already have an office on Salyan Highway, 16km Lokbatan Settlement, Salt Lake Facility, Baku 1032.

So what does Turkey do? It spreads its rat claws into Libya, Syria, territorial waters of Greece, Iraq, Kurdish Territory, and now in an attempt to finally “solve the Armenian problem,” vows support for Turkey’s “Azerbaijani brothers with all our means as always.” And accuses Armenia of “being the biggest threat in the region to peace and stability.”

The Armenian nation of 2.965 million is the threat? Armenia would instigate a war against its neighbor nation Azerbaijan of 9.981 million who now has the support of its historic enemy nation of Turkey with 82 million? The military budget of Turkey and Azerbaijan dwarf that of Armenia.

Meanwhile, Turkey just recently tested its Russian made S-400 air defense system to which the US “condemns in the strongest possible terms.” Additionally adding, “an operational S-400 system is not consistent with Turkey’s commitments as a U.S. and NATO ally.”

Well guess what—Turkey never follows its commitments to the US or its NATO allies.

Why are the Azeri’s doing this now?

Why did Azerbaijan and Turkey attack Artsakh and Armenia on September 27, 2020?

It is jealousy? Envy? Resentment of Armenians?

Did we overstate our importance in the world, like Aliyev said?

Was it the World IT Conference in 2019 held in Yerevan?

Was it the revival of the wine industry in Armenia? The discovery of the oldest winery in the Noravank caves?

Was it the designation by UNESCO of our World Heritage Sites of Geghard Monastery, Haghpat and Sanahin, Etchmiadzin and Zvartnos? Or the UNESCO designation of Intangible Cultural Heritage items the Khachkar, the duduk, LAVASH Bread, the Kochari dance, or the Armenian Letter Art or the Folk Epic Sasunsti Davit?

Or that Levon Aronian, our chess champion, is higher ranked FIDE than your guy?

Or was it just simply the democratic revolution, the Velvet Revolution heard around the world in 2018. The revolution won without a bullet fired. Have you, Mr. Aliyev, tried that?

Or is it simply that the Turkish Lira is collapsing—again. Like it did in 2005. And the solution was just to lop off six zeros and call it the new Turkish Lira.

Or is it even simpler that oil and gas account for over 90 percent of Azerbaijan’s exports. To balance its budget, Baku needs oil to sell above $53 per barrel.

Incidentally, it was a mistake, Mr. Aliyev, to name the oil field in the Caspian Sea the “Karabagh field” and have the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani (so called) Republic President, say the field “proudly bears the name of the heart of our Motherland.”

Armenians are not going to be naïve about this situation today. We’re not going to say, oh the truth will prevail. You want to fight? We will fight to our deaths. Death or Freedom. MAH GAM AZADOUTYUN.

The songs of Armenia. We are living the songs. The Armenian Public Radio has changed. There’re no other cultural shows on. There’re no discussions of psychologists talking about kids dealing with stresses of their lives. It’s all day songs of heroes and heroism. Then news of the war. News of missiles landing. News of Armenian troops pushing back the enemy.

If you hear us talking here today and mixing the terms of Armenians or Armenians from Karabakh or using Artsakh and Armenia interchangeable, it is because it is all one people. It is all of us. You should know, as outside viewers to this, that you matter in all of this. Everything we do here in the United States matters tremendously around the world. Anything a high-ranking politician says about Armenia gets repeated verbatim on Armenian media and broadcast to the entire country there. Any chant of protest or singing of Մեր Հայրենիք is echoed through Armenian media. Words matter. Our words matter. Our actions matter more.

And you can be sure that today, these words, yours actions here, will be heard in Armenia.

So, what are we asking you, here in Richmond, those of you who come to us and support us in our usual times of festivities and dancing and celebration? We are asking you a simple thing. Think how difficult it is to get the attention of Americans right now with everything going on in U.S. politics and the country. Who would care about what’s happening overseas?

But we have to care. Because the United States has created this monster of a so-called ally in Turkey. The United States has not taken any concrete action, action not words, to stop Turkey intervening. And by not taking any action, the United States is giving tacit approval to what is going on.

For if two Armenians meet anywhere in the world and will create a New Armenia, witness now what all Armenians over the entire world will do when they unite.

Artsakh army neutralizes 10 Azerbaijan military equipment including Israel-made armored vehicles

The Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Army continues to locate and neutralize the Azerbaijani military units that are preparing for the attack.

The respective footage presented by Zinuzh Media shows about ten Azerbaijani military equipment, including infantry fighting vehicles and Israeli-made SandCat armored vehicles, which were neutralized as a result of the operations by the Armenian side in the forests near Berdzor.

Naryshkin: Russian Foreign Intelligence Service had accurate information about militants in Karabakh from Syria

The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) had received accurate information, including from the associate intelligence services in the Middle East countries, about the engagement of militants from Syria in the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh, SVR director Sergey Naryshkin told RIA Novosti.

According to Naryshkin, the FSVR had “accurate information about the presence of terrorists—including from the Middle East and, first of all, from Syria—in the battle zone."

"We receive these data from a number of countries, various sources, and our various associates, associate services in the Near East, the Middle East," Naryshkin added.

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Mayor of Artsakh’s Shushi city Artsvik Sargsyan assures that the city is in reliable hands because Artsakh-Armenia-Diaspora trinity stands for its protection.

The Mayor, who is in defense positions of the city, told ARMENPRESS that Shushi will definitely continue speaking in Armenian and the bells of Ghazanchetsots Church will continue to ring. ‘’They spread false photos that allegedly they have raised a flag on a mosque, but an examination shows that it’s a fake photo. They should never think that Shushi can belong to them, it will never happen. We have to win, we will live in Shushi’’, Sargsyan said.

Artsvik Sargsyan emphasized that Azerbaijanis have always fled from the battlefield, seeing Armenians. ‘’In all the wars I have participated they fled from us, they fled in a way we were unable to hunt them. There were times when we met in peaceful moments they told as that when we decide to attack, we should inform them so that they can flee. Yes, today they don't fight, the mercenaries fight instead of them, because if they don't do that, they will be shot from behind. But this is a temporal thing, in the near times we will celebrate our victory'', Sargsyan said.

Shushi Mayor assured that during the clashes for Shushi the adversary has suffered serious losses and continues to suffer.

Turkey’s public broadcaster fires author of “Azerbaijan attacks peaceful population” headline

YEREVAN, NOVEMBER 6, ARMENPRESS. Turkey’s national public broadcaster TRT has unsurprisingly fired the journalist who was the author of the “Azerbaijan attacks the peaceful population” headline.

Mehmet Karaca, en editor at TRT, apologized for what he called “this negligent step of mine caused trouble for my television company.”

On November 5, while broadcasting a live report on the Azerbaijani attacks on Artsakh, TRT presented the “Azerbaijan attacks the peaceful population” headline.

Since Turkey is a staunch supporter of Azerbaijan in its attacks on Artsakh, they are also engaged in heavy disinformation campaigns trying to conceal the truth from the public and speaking the truth is unacceptable. Therefore, the headline – despite not containing any false information, was deemed to be a blunder and even caused much discussion online and in the press. Some Turkish viewers even went as far as calling it TRT’s “latest embarrassment”.

Meanwhile, the Azerbaijani forces continue intense bombardments of towns and cities in Artsakh. Overnight November 5-6, Stepanakert City and the town of Shushi were heavily bombarded, with 3 civilian killed in the capital.

Beringer Aero suspends all deliveries for Turkish drones

PanARMENIAN.Net - Beringer Aero has suspended all deliveries for Turkish drones, according to a statement the company published on Friday, November 6.

Earlier this week, the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) documented the discovery of Beringer "Sealed Fuel Reservoirs" in Turkish Bayraktar drones in a fact sheet, which has been widely circulated to government officials and policy-making circles in Washington, DC.

Beringer has locations in Greenville, SC and Tallard, France.

"Beringer Aero suspends all deliveries to Turkish UAV manufacturers after having found out about its products mounted on drones equipped with weapons and deployed over the Nagorno- Karabakh region to fight against the Armenian forces," the company said in the statement.

"The company wants to stay in line with its ethical policy and has never allowed the use of its products on vehicles that could threaten human life."

According to the manufacturer, Beringer products are designed and produced in France for General Aviation and civilian purposes. They are sold worldwide through different channels and are standard off the shelves for all vehicles, including UAVs. Therefore the European Union Control List of Dual Use Items does not list the these products as dual use items.

The Canadian government, as well as several companies such as Bombardier and Trimble Navigation have suspended or discontinued further sales to Baykar, the company behind the

Englewood Cliffs, NJ recognizes Karabakh's right to self-determination

PanARMENIAN.Net - Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey Mayor Mario M. Kranjac passed a resolution on behalf of the mayor’s office on November 4, recognizing the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and its inalienable right to self-determination, reports the Armenian National Committee of America.

The Mayor condemned the Azerbaijani and Turkish attacks against the Armenians of Nagorno Karabakh (Artsakh), reported the Armenian National Committee of America Eastern Region (ANCA-ER).

“It is my humble opinion that a path to peace can always be found with reasonable people, and we must always find our way down that path rather than the dead-end of conflict,” said Englewood Cliffs Mayor Mario M. Kranjac.

New Jersey, which is the home to nearly 50,000 Armenian Americans, has seen the support of city, state and federal support for Artsakh including a mayoral proclamation from Borough of Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich on October 15, New Jersey State Senator Joseph Lagana’s introduction of legislation S.R.99 condemning the attacks and recognizing Artsakh on October 30, along with the support of several congressional members including Senators Menendez and Booker and Representatives Pallone, Gottheimer, Norcross, Smith, Malinowski, Sires, Pascrell, Watson Coleman and Kim.

Italy's Lombardy, the Australian state of New South Wales, several U.S. states and dozens of towns across the world have already recognized Karabakh.
