Ah, no better way to show that you are a patriot than burning your enemy's flag.

/end sarcasm.

I like it, they would surely do the same. We should've thrown in an azerbaboon flag in there as well.

Don't get me wrong AK, that flag should be used as a mat considering all the horrors it represents.

I just don't want Armenians to do that, and only that, thinking that by burning a flag, you somehow are considered a patriot.

Burning flags are a common form of protest outpour, some do it out of hatred but most do it to protest certain government policies, there has been instances of flag burning in the US to protest US policies.

In this case one can argue that burning the Turkish flag is directed towards the government and not the people, but this is not going to sound convincing, we know how much Turks revere their flag and this will be taken as insult towards each Turk, individually. I think Pamouk, Shafak, Zarakolu and a significant minority who have started putting the facts together and are trying to understand the Armenian viewpoint will be included in burning of their beloved flag.

Burning an effigy that represents the Turkish government, the prime minister or the president would be a more appropriate item to burn, if pyrotechnics are really required, and if we really want to look more like angry Iranians or Palestinians.

WHO SAID BURNING A TURKISH FLAG IS A SIN, OR IT'S BAD??????????????????

WHAT ABOUT OUR LANDS THAT HAVE BEEN BURNING FOR CENTURIES? WHAT ABOUT OUR XACHQARS THAT HAVE BEEN BROKEN DOWN FOR CENTURIES? WHAT ABOUT OUR PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN BURNT FOR CENTURIES? AND A SINGLE FLAG IS GOING TO HURT THEM? I WISH I COULD SEE US BURN 100'S OF THEIR GLAGS EACH DAY, IF I ONLY KNEW IT WILL HURT THEM AS MUCH AS THEY HURT US.

Edward, Ashot

I know what you say and agree and I personally don't give a damn about their flag, I particularly like the idea of a toilet paper mentioned above. What I'm saying is that if there will be any change from the Turkish side it will come from the PEOPLE and not from the government nor from the racist nationalist pigs who seem to dominate and represent the Turks today. You can argue that Turk is a Turk, but that is not going to get us anywhere.

I am not even sure what we want as a nation from the Turks, some say an apology, many say don't care about apology I want my lands back, there are even those who say Armenia's borders are confined to 29,900 sq kms. Notice: Artshakh is out from this equation!

At one point we have to decide what we want, and please before dismissing those who think we should not demand lands as insignificant few, just look at the latest picture around the Armenian elections where the "insignificant few" were even questioning Artsakh and its legitimacy, when the chips are down can one trust those "few"? I don't think so. We should think about that before we demand our lands back. The other side will say "come and get it".

We do not need permission from anybody to burn the Turkish flags, it is even our right to do it, but we should not expect the Turks to come clean either...but the truth is WE DO! We yell about it every day!!!

That's why I think it is wrong to burn or publicly trample on the Turkish flag. To me, I consider such acts as a public demonstration of our weaknesses!

Just think about it, we never see the people of those countries who have the upper hand in their political, military and economic situation burn the flags of those nations whom they dominate. Do we??

Menk Hayerys misht el axhmaqh, himar joghovurt enk eghel.

I wonder whose bright idea it was to take a photograph of a person standing on the flag at Tsiternakaberd, or why the flag was brought to the monument in the first place.

The Turks already are reacting to it Condemnation of Stepping on Flag (lol!)

"We strongly condemn the tramping of the Turkish flag in Armenia. The government of Armenia must arrest all responsible for the attack"

I agree, should Armenia not arrest those involved, Turkey should complain to the UN or at least threaten war!

Turks Upset at Rep. Maloney's Pro-Genocide Position

ANKARA--The Turkish media Tuesday expressed anger and disappointment at Rep. Caroline Maloney (D-NY), a long-time supporter of the Armenian Genocide Resolution and Armenian issues in Congress, for speaking at a Genocide Commemoration event in New York Sunday.

Maloney is also one of the founders of the Greek-American Friendship Group and has advocated for the Turkish pullout of Cyprus.

The controversy resulted from Maloney being awarded the Second Annual Zubeyde Hanim Awards by Turkish American Women Society of the New York-based Turkish Cultural Center. The award, which is named after modern Turkey founder Kemal Ataturk's mother is presented annually by the self-proclaimed moderate Turkish organization.

Maloney, who often has received an “A ” by the Armenian National Committee of America, also spoke last week at the Congressional Commemoration of the Armenia Genocide on Capitol Hill organized by the Congressional Armenian Caucus.
